D'Onofrio as Holden
The rest are incidental
If Malick had made this it would have been his best film ever, if not the best film ever. The Thin Red Line with more blood and cowboys.
>D'Onofrio as Holden
Shit that's a good pick, I wanted John Goodman
Director: Quention Tarantione
The Kid:Thomas Brodie-Sangster
Judge Holden: Samuel Jackson
Glanton: John Travolta
Toadvine: Uma Thurman
The ex-priest: Christopher Waltz
Director: Christopher Nolan
The Kid: Mackenzie Foy
Judge Holden: Tom Hardy
Glanton: Michael Caine
Toadvine: Anne Hathaway
The ex-priest: Aiden Gillen
Shaved John Goodman as Holden
Don't care about the rest
>mumbling manlet as Judge Holden
Are you high?
Bridger from Revenant would be a good Kid/Toadvine
>Director: Christopher Nolan
>The ex-priest: Aiden Gillen
would be actually perfect
The man who saved Kvatch
Fuck D'Onofrio! He would be good if the film was done in the 80s.
Goodman is the right choice, and you know it.
Jeff Bridges could be used too, maybe
fpbp
>inb4 inevitable 30 yr old actor playing the kid suggestions
I never liked this drawing of the Judge, he just looks like an alien and not like a fat heaving monster
>Fuck D'Onofrio!
Fuck. YOU.
the only person i can see playing the judge is john goodman, but he's too old now.
>Judge Holden
I know it's capeshit but watch some youtube scenes of D'Onofrio as Kingpin in the Daredevil show, he absolutely nails the big guy who is queerly well spoken
Goodman is too recognisable
Is Holden supposed to look like the devil?
>but he's too old now.
honestly with the weight loss he looks late 30s early 40s, would never think he's actually 64
no. he's supposed to look like a 7 foot tall baby. that's how he's described in the books.
>DUDE MURDER AND RACISM
most overrated book ever?
Director: Andrew Dominik
The Kid: Will Poulter
Judge Holden: Daniel D Lewis
Glanton: Christian Bale
Toadvine: Josh Brolin
The ex-priest: Willem Dafoe
Director is perfect but that's about it.
Blood Meridian cant ever be filmed
it is too bloody and too abstract
the audience would get bored halfway through. The Crossing could be filmed. Cities of the Plain could be filmed. Blood Meridian is not feasible
it's honestly a chore to get through. pages and pages and pages of nothing but descriptions of the landscape. it's impressive but at the same time quite boring
Director: Adam Sandler
The Kid: Steve Buscemi
The Judge: Adam Sandler
>Judge Holden: Daniel D Lewis
I actually second this.
Yes, he doesn't look exact, but who gives a shit.
He could play that character.
See gangs of new york and there will be blood.
He'd be perfect for holden.
>plays Kingpin like he was some kind of giant baby
I know Holden is LITERALLY a giant baby, but he is not to be portrayed as an autistic giant baby
Anything can be filmed, Finnegans Wake can be filmed, you just need some vision and the balls to deviate drastically from the source material (the best adaptations all do this, people who love the 'original' will shit the bed, part of having those balls is being able to ignore them).
The things that make a great novel great are not what would make a great film great, trying to translate those things on screen 1:1 is what's unfeasible, but that's a stupid idea in the first place.
The Kid: Josh Hutcherson
Judge Holden: Tim Robbins
Glanton: Leonardo Dicaprio
Toadvine: Kevin James
The ex-priest: Stephen Dillane
It could if some benevolent billionaire bankrolled it knowing it wouldn't make money because plebs don't want to go view 6 hour long abstract kino.
Excelent 10/10 bait
>The Kid:
I'm not saying he should play the character the same, just that appearance and screen presence-wise he has it down already
oh and Director: Nicholas Winding Refn
this film will never be made because judge holden rapes children in the book, and no actor or studio will want to be remotely associated with that, even if it is omitted from the screenplay.
Nah, he would still be too much like Kingpin, and he failed at doing that. Read the comics
Why wouldn't Coens direct? They did a good job with No Country.
He would cast Ryan Gosling or Christina Hendricks in it, which role could they play?
adapt it to him rapen women and it is fine to show on screen.
It's not celebrating it.
Vince's voice sucks though, way too cartoony.
Audiobook that shit son
director, kid and toadvine are good. the rest needs work
You're basing that on nothing, he has demonstrated some pretty remarkable range over the years
>read the comics
Why? I don't care about the character, just how he plays it
If you don't care about the character, then you don't care about Holden too, and anyone can be cast as him. I'd cast Michael Emerson then
He's supposed to be a walking human version of Moby Dick
d'onofrio is alright but he overacts, it's distracting
Goose could play Captain White
Hendricks would probably play a made up role for the movie, it would be small but not a cameo
Director: Alejandro González Iñárritu
The Kid: Kodi Smit McPhee
Judge Holden: Glen Fleshler (pic related, guy from True Detective)
Glanton: Russell Crowe
Toadvine: Ben Foster
The ex-priest: Leev Schreiber
Because they're Jews. They work for the Demiurge.
Glen Flesher looks like a good choice. Better than D'Onofrio
Now you're just being silly
Why!? You said you only care about talent, not the character himself!
Add a little muscle on him and he's good to go.
He has that babyish face the judge needs.
D'Onofrio can only play two kinds of characters: autistic fat guy and over-the-top nervous bad guy
Since Holden is neither of those, he can go fuck himself
Go ahead, but don't pretend you've read it.
Uh...ok?
you know there is a lot more to acting than just how you look.
holden requires an expert actor. literally shakespearean teir.
He kinda seems to be a good actor
But you're right about shakespearean tier
we could fatten and shave Michael Emerson
Blood meridian is one of the worst edgiest fucking books I've ever read
Its basically sonic fan-fic the novel
No, it's not OK. Just because mommy reads you a bedtime story doesn't mean you know how to read. "Audiobooks" and whatever else are just that, and if you consume such tripe with sincerity, you have no place commenting on literature.
ok.
what the fuck d'onofrio was this guy?
whatttttttttttttt
>thinks that Blood Meridian is edgy
ohboi
>not knowing D'onofrio is an even better acting ninja than Jared Leto
fun fact, he wrapped splints around his legs so he could pull off the stiff gait the character had.
It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge. War endures. As well ask men what they think of stone. War was always here. Before man was, war waited for him. The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner. That is the way it was and will be. That way and not some other way.
if only we could build a time machine
Here he is. The devil. Here he stands.
too depressed.
judge holden is smiling most of the time.
