I could care less. Honestly a lot of it is just like a traditional outfit anywhere else in the world. When I was in Amman Jordan girls would wear them because they liked them as an appeal to tradition. They were definitely were not required to wear them as half the women dressed like skanks as well.
Sure some backwards countries still force their women to wear them but you can find some places in the US that don't let women wear jeans.
