>"athletes are overpaid!! They get paid millions to play a game while our firemen and teachers and police officers and vets are suffering!!"

It's funny that no one says that the owners are overpaid. They only want the athletes to get fucked.

yes, this is how retarded capitalism is.
if you don't agree I'm afraid you're by default mentally inferior.

>vets
>suffering

They make animals healthy how the fuck is that difficult?

Capitalism isn't fair, that''s just the way of the world

It's weird isn't it? In almost everyother circumstance most people would side with the the workers over management and executives. But sport? Nope. Really makes me think.

>one is paid by the government
>the other is paid by private companies

K then

high rates of suicide

>get paids millions
>retire at 30
>spend the next 40 years dealing with CTE and other injuries until you kick the bucket
Is it worth it?

>private companies are fine
you've been brain washed to defend your shitty economic system, that your country has imposed over virtually everyone else with violence because they get fucked in the ass by massive private companies.
I feel sorry for you.

They could just save time and say they have absolutely no idea how economics work

This is how children think.
Firemen don't bring in any profits.

>saving lives is a loss
this is how retarded people who defend capitalism are.

...so you are telling me my taxes should go to pay each soldier the millions of dollars athletes get paid per year?

Where do you propose we get the money to pay firemen millions of dollars a year?

not the guy you quoted but paying soldiers is even more retarded

you could use that money to help brothers in the struggle, or kids in the ghetto growing up without a father

No wonder South America is trash

I'm pretty sure that if a non athelete was in the top .001% of their profession theyd be making a lot too

hey man, we ain't that bad for a catholic country in the new world. compare argentina to others and we are doing just fine, and we are the most welfare-oriented country in latin america

now compare the usa to similar countries like canada, australia or new zealand and you look like some african country

Okay. But even still. We are talking about the wages a private company feels is appropriate to pay its employees vs. What the government pays for using the taxes they get from citizens. It can't be compared.

is that seriously what you got from my post?
fuck you're stupid.

Then what's your point? Are you suggesting athletes get paid similar to soldier wages? Why? Their respective organizations feel like the players are worth however much they pay them a year. What makes them wrong for that? I think you maybe retarded.

Professional athletes shouldn't be compared to the local vets or teachers, they should be compared to high level veterinarians or top professors at Ivy League schools. There are plenty of amateur and semi-professional athletes that don't make that sort of money, money that actually is comparable to your local vet or teacher. They only talk shit about people working in the entertainment or athletic fields since they get more television exposure.

May be*

>also not realizing professional athletes get paid so much because they are rare 1 in a 1000 people meanwhile any retard can be a cop/firefighter/soldier

>there's only capitalism
jesus christ, just stop commenting m8, you're lowering the entire board's IQ.

I didn't know that argie set the policies for the entirety of South America.

There are far more people who qualify to be teachers, firefighters, soldiers etc. than there are people who can play professional sports

>rare talents should get paid the same as people with literally no talent

Just stop cuck

fuck off retard how's that 20yr recession going btw

you're right brazil is even worse

Our country is just like yours when it comes to political opinions. There are people from both sides. It just happens that there are more people leaning for the left so we get left presidents but this is changing more lately.

>that comment
this still applies to you, mongoloid

you're a freaking moron or you've never been to The USA

I've never been to Everest and still can tell it's the highest mountain in the world

>3rd worlders talking about how bad capitalism is

Wow

>resorting to ad hominem
typical pathetic comment from a burger

Shut you fuck up you stupid commie nigger

As they as they pay their taxes they can whip and starve their players for all I care.

I don't agree with the argie but Americans literally can't argue without Ad hominem, it's amazing. Argentina has the same hdi as croatia: 0.827

Probably has something to do with anti-communist US foreign policy fucking up their continent

>implying I'm a communist
why are people so obtuse?
specially americans, they've been brainwashed so hard they can't even comprehend a system outside capitalism/communism, and they just hate everything that resembles socialism because their overlords the multinational companies have told them to do so.

But i do think veterinarians deserve more.

nope. not even close.

It’s scarcity. The market demands professional talent but that kind of talent is in exceptionally short supply. Huge amount of revenue for a role that only they can fill. Therefore they make a lot of money.

Anyone who can remember to breathe and get dressed in the morning can be a middle school teacher.

Wow this argie is an actual retard

>55k of HECS debt
>Award rate of 41k a year
>Rate of suicide comparable to farmers and dentists.
>Drop out rate similar to teachers (50% gone within 4 years)

Vets suffer.

my dad is a fire chief and he gets paid very handsomely

Okay champ

splendid argument, well thought out, and really eloquent.

Calling people names is a surefire way to win an argument.

I’m not sure what it is that’s so difficult to understand. A bunch of suits start a league with their money. They all get their own teams. They make a lot of money with the immense amount of revenue they generate.

They want only the best players. Therefore they pay top-dollar to those who can do the job. It is a private agreement in which one party exchanges a service for money and vice versa.

A fireman is paid by citizen taxes, the total of which have to be divided amongst a million different things. It is also far, far less selective in terms of a specific skillset than a professional athlete.

There. There’s your argument

This is a point missed in the whole argument, that anyone that stays in any of op's three professions is some struggling poorfag if they stay in it for a career. They're all seniority, union-laden cushy jobs once you're in

can you seriously not understand that there are ways other than capitalism?
it's really not complicated to comprehend, yet none of the americans stop mentioning money and private owners and free market.

You do realize that for an hour now you've been saying there are other ways apart from capitalism yet yu haven't provided a single alternative, right?

>there are ways
>doesn't name the ways

Thanks for the solution

I’m not saying that’s how it should work, but I’m explaining how it does. Complaining about firemen not getting paid as much as professjonal athletes is a complete waste of time because, as far the entire first world goes, that is how it works. It is the reality of what we are talking about. You are the one making this specifically about “capitalism/communism” because every time an American flag tries to explain to you why they are paid so much, you just have throw a tantrum like a stupid fucking child.

what form of economics would allow a fire fighter to be paid as much as a pro athlete?

>I can't read
I don't have to spoonfeed you information just because your education was shit.

>as far the entire first world goes, that is how it works. It is the reality of what we are talking about
no it's not, read OP, it never specifies anything like that.

>You are the one making this specifically about “capitalism/communism”
I never mentioned communism other than to point out that americans can only see those two systems, and demonizes one of them, one that doesn't make use of money, for example.

>no it's not, read OP, it never specifies anything like that.
In terms of professional athletes who get paid 6000000000000000 dollars an hour? Yeah, pretty much. Are European football clubs State run? No

>I never mentioned communism other than to point out that americans can only see those two systems, and demonizes one of them
You’re largely right about demonizing communism, but it’s beside the point. What I am saying is that there is a completely plausible and completely reasonable explanation as to why not everyone is entitled to a job where they make hundreds of millions of dollars

>I don't have to spoonfeed you information just because your education was shit.
Yeah, apparently amerifats aren't the only ones resorting to ad hominem when trying to argue.

>one that doesn't make use of money, for example
Are you suggesting that in the year of our lord 2017, exchange economy is a viable solution?

>n terms of professional athletes who get paid 6000000000000000 dollars an hour? Yeah, pretty much. Are European football clubs State run? No
I'm saying that athlete's shouldn't be rewarded higher than doctors/firemen or other professions and that the solution doesn't necessarily rely on capitalism.

>What I am saying is that there is a completely plausible and completely reasonable explanation as to why not everyone is entitled to a job where they make hundreds of millions of dollars
ok, I'm all for arguing about stuff like this.
please tell me how an elite sportsman deserves to get significantly higher rewards than a doctor or a fierman, people that literally save lifes.
fuck, let's make it between them and a janitor, who actually contributes to society on anything other than a banal level such as straight up enterteinment.

>one that doesn't make use of money, for example.
so what would be the motivation to run into a burning building to save somebodys life?
the goodness of their heart?

>a barter economy is your solution to making sure everyone gets paid equally

Please, for the love of god, stop. You’re just embarrassing yourself

>Yeah, apparently amerifats aren't the only ones resorting to ad hominem when trying to argue.
it's only an ad hominem if I don't make an argument.
if I make a solid argument, which in this case was to literally answer your questiong by pointing out that I don't have to educate you on something so basic as economical systems, and on my way I insult you, then it's not an ad hominem.

>Are you suggesting that in the year of our lord 2017, exchange economy is a viable solution?
no.

The answer to your retard questions have been posted before multiple times in this very thread. Can you not read or are you too fucking stupid to accept that they are paid more and for good reason?

Didn't know those uncivilized tribes that we see on NatGeo had access to Sup Forums.

that's not an answer

>bosnia and herzegovina
>ad hominem
you're living proof they do m8

an athlete is a marketing tool. it doesnt matter if he is cr7, tom brady, lebron, whoever.
people pay hundreds of dollars for tickets to see their games.
tv networks pay billions of dollars for broadcasting rights.
children buy their jerseys and merchandise.
they generate billions of dollars in revenue for their teams, who in turn, pay them an amount that reflects the size of the stage.

civil servants get paid with tax dollars. city/regional coffers arent ever going to be deep enough to pay them millions of dollars per year.

thats just the way it goes. it has nothing to do with >durp capitulizm, because its the same situation in literally every country, not just capitalist ones.

>please tell me how an elite sportsman deserves to get significantly higher rewards than a doctor or a fierman

Because people are willing to award athletes more than doctors? People aren't sick every day in their life but they do want to be entertained every day in their life.

Enjoy buying a car with beans

Why would I answer again when the answer has been explained to you in plain terms 4 times in this same thread? You’re just too thick to understand it I suppose

Entertaining millions of people for a few hours for hundreds/thousands of times has no benefit at all I guess lol. It's a scale and sphere of influence no teacher, doctor, or police officer can touch.

If there were only 5k or so teachers capable of teaching kids anything of note like there are athletes watchable enough to be entertained they'd get paid a shitload too

Put sponsors on the police and make their job live, its that easy

>please tell me how an elite sportsman deserves to get significantly higher rewards than a doctor or a fierman
There are thousands of football clubs in the world, all with the same goal of earning trophies and bringing in income for their investors. How many football players are there that average 40 goals a season consistently over the past 10 years that have been proven to help clubs achieve those goals? Two. Now what would motivate those two to switch their employer for another? Money among other, less important factors. Thus they are playing for the highest bidder. If the highest bidder was able to offer 10k a year, they would play for that much. The highest bidder is able to offer 40m a year though and that's what they play for.

Now think of how many firemen can put out that fire and save that life, how many companies are looking for his services, how much they can offer and how much income the fireman generates back.

>inb4 you just described capitalism and I'm saying there are other ways which I still won't name because you should have known them

I brought my dog to the vet once.
He left us for a minute to check up on some cat he had there. When he came back he had 2 holes in his hand where the cat bit him.

>"canadians are overpaid!! They get paid millions to shitpost while our australians and romanians and chileans and turks are suffering!!"

The funniest part is that people saying this won't criticize about actors (or people in the movie industry in general) even though at its core it's the same thing (people being paid a lot to entertain other people).

And they also cannot fathom that only a tiny fraction of all athletes receive that much money while the rest is on a much more reasonable salary, that their careers are on a permanent tightrope (injuries, poor performances), and that it's basically over by the time they reach 35-40.

Baseball players get paid more

ITT: People unironically defending generalized commodity production
TTETT

They are overpaid. TV companies pay for the exclusive rights (i.e. a monopoly) for the matches they air so they can charge customers much more and the clubs and so the players get much more.

>capitalism
There aren't monopolies in capitalism. This happens a lot: people blame capitalism for something that has nothing to do with it.

>an entire group of first world idiots getting btfo'd by one argie

>I can't get a job
>That's why we need a violent revolution to make the world more fair!!!

this desu. I always thought argies can't handle their Sup Forums but this guy is definitely proving wrong

love you m8 whoever you are

Are you retarded? He got beat to a pulp

They are overpaid, actually we should heavily tax the money paid in a football player transference.

LEL LYL LUL I AM AMERICAN DURRR DURR

CORPERATE GOVERNMENT IS GOOD THE 1% SHALL HAVE MORE THAN HALF OF THE REST OF THE PEOPLE, WHAT COULD WRONG THEY EARNED IT IF YOU WANT TO BE A BILLIONAIR JUST GO WORK YOU LAZY SHIT

College coaches getting paid millions is a bit cheeky tbqh. Professional sports can do what they want.

this is the real shock right here.

THIS
What now, amerilard?

Yeah, Americans want small government, not corporate government. Dumb post. And it's actually government involved that has made players so rich (e.g. exclusive rights to games, only certain companies can manufacture sports teams' shirts).

And, yeah, the Argentine is a mong. Price controls don't work. If you put the price of something up, you end up with too much of it. If you put the price of something you end up with too little of it. Basically resources and buyers aren't matched up. Talking about doctors 'should' get paid more and athletes not 'deserving' as much shows what an economically illiterate retard he is.

I don't know Argie bruh
This statistic says a lot

Like you could trust argie government statistics
