How religious are Russians on average? You never hear about religion in Russia, so I'm curious.

WTF are you talking about, they talk about fucking Orthodoxy all the fucking time

Even less religious than most Westerners despite the memes. For example, Canada is religiously lax as fuck and ~20% still go to church. Church attendance in Russia is something like 10% despite around 80% identifying as Orthodox.

It's a meme

The communists spent decades purging the fear of God from the Russian people, this is why their women are so easy.

Russia was having a big religious revival in the 90s, but then Putin decided to use the ROC as his Brown Shirts to beat up on political opponents so Russian Millenials have been really turned off of religion hard.

>You never hear about religion in Russia
are you kidding me

young russians believe the current governmental hype about orthodoxy is putin's ideological manipulation

ie there is too much

>Russia was having a big religious revival in the 90s

As in claiming to be Orthodox but not actually going to church

>but then Putin decided to use the ROC as his Brown Shirts to beat up on political opponents

u wot. I believe that the Russian government uses the ROC to complement Russian nationalism and to appeal to conservatives, and I believe that the upper hierarchy of the ROC are in bed with the Russian state to some degree, but when did that happen?

They have great faith in God and in his prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

It depends. If you turn on russian tv on during Easter Day you may think that is russians are very religious people, but if you go outside and talk to some random russians on the streets you may think that Russia is very areligious country.

The whole thing is that after the fall of communism regime our authorities had to declare the new ideology to bind all shit that was about to fall crash. And of all the projects available at that point they choose the lamest - to set back to the orthodoxy. The big part of that decision was dictated by the war in Chechnya, heroin boom, and overgrowing islamization.

no one cares.
there are some people who go to church but we don't care about reaally.
When people tell they are orthodox this is more cultural thing.
Like people in Japan who say they are shinto but actually just follow some traditions without actual thinking of it's meaning.

my gf says she is orthodog but she doesnt attend church or pray or really do anything except wear cross necklace :DDDDD

Most ethnic Russians are atheist or just visit a church once a year during Easter to make a company for their aunt or grandma. Barely 7-8% of ethnic Russians believe

They put everyone European on Orthoodx, if you specifically don't fill "atheist" grapth on the census

Guess it yourself.
"Orthodoxy-vaginal control"

> Orthodox christianity is not onanism.
> Onanism is a genocide
> Nikolai II, the innocent (reds call them "bloody"), got murdered cause he jerked off

Considering Russia has the most pornstars on earth and the largest number of prostitutes on earth, i guess you can safely say that Russians are very religious.

wut. you mixed-up us with Czechs and Ukrainians

Do you cum on jesus when you titfuck your gf?

>You never hear about religion in Russia
Didn't some guy recently get arrested for recording in a church?

Oh yeah, Russia produces the straight up prostitutes, not pornstars.

Well, that's a case of madness. You could mention Poklonskaya and her fetish for dead emperors (Nikolai II)

They are. Ramadan is a big holiday in Russia.

Most people are Eastern Orthodox in name only most people don't go to the liturgy(mass) at all.
Neopagan groups have gained limited success among the Finnic, Ossetian, Abkhazian peoples.
Islam makes up 15% of the Russian population and the rest is atheist/agnostic

People will say they're orthodox but that's as far as it goes. Nobody cares tbqh

>You never hear about religion in Russia
Where have you been living, the fucking US?
