Salary cap, my monkey friend.

Salary cap and 53 man roster

why does Andrew Luck make so much money?

Because the colts have a horrible front office

Fuckin andrew luck?

update it

wait, so you get cte and there's a limit to how much you get paid? why are athletes ok with this?

Cuz it's fun to watch. I work in a dangerous field and wont change jobs just because of the high incidence of workplace violence, injury, and the litigious nature. It's my chosen path and efforts are constantly made to improve working conditions

imagine making €90,000,000 in one year.

Because a good chunk of them are literally just being paid millions to have no skill whatsoever and simply be morbidly obese and incur brain damage

That's how the Colts operate
1. Get a QB
2. Throw infinite money at him
3. Surround him with 0 talent whatsoever
4. If pressed on the subject, throw blame at QB for using so much of the salary cap
5. Be laughingstock

There's a reason why Peypey with a broken spinal cord accomplished literally the exact same amount in 15 minutes with the Broncos than he did in 15 healthy years with the Clots

The toxins could have won that super bowl if they had just stick with Gary and wade =(((((

Americans are closet socialists

A lot of us are out of the closet user

Because an individual football player besides quarterback isn't anywhere near to as close to important as a basketball player or obviously an individual sport(golf, tennis)
NFL players union is weak because there's so much overall turnover and collectively they aren't too bright so the owners usually own them at the negotiation table

You can play constructively for an average of 3 years, a player wants a long term deal cuz he knows he won't be able to support himself after his inevitable injury but has proved that he is valuable
So a team pays him 20-30 million dollars for one good and 3 bad seasons
I don't see why that isn't smart. Those guys know from their teens that their productive days are numbered

I'm pretty sure Floyd made more than the top 5 combined off of his Connor love spat.

Why does nobody want to sponsor Andrew Luck? How can he be making less than a tenth what McIlroy does in endorsements?

Football isn't a star sport unless you're a flashy wide receiver like OBJ or can do meme runs like Cam Newton. Most of the good QBs in the league, like Luck, are pretty boring

think he means their dumb because their trying to negotiate for:
1. getting rid of marijuana testing
2. limiting domestic violence suspensions
meanwhile, if they would just stop smoking pot and beating their wives/gfs they could instead negotiate for more meaningful benefits

after all, at the highest level, negotiating is a zero-sum game, anything they get they have to give up something for. so getting one of those things at the next negotiation means that they would have to give up something actually important

Honestly, who the fuck is Andrew Luck?
I know who Brady is, I guess that guy is really lucky.

He'll make a lot more actually.

He's a guy who gets hit for a living; sometimes he gets to throw a football too

Being one of the best golfers is incredibly lucrative in terms of endorsements because of equipment sales.

...

This is literally the first time I hear about Andrew Luck

He makes 5 or 6 times that in publicities and shit, that's only the Barcelona salary, Adidas alone may pay him twice that

Peyton had tons of talent around him, man. Dallas Clark, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Edgerin James, even Pierre Garcon for a while. What they didn't have was defense. Sure, a couple of good ones like Bob Sanders for five seconds, Robert Mathis, and Dwight Freeney, but they would lose in the playoffs because Peyton turned to mush and the defense became swiss cheese

That was early in Peyton's career. In 2007 they had the leagues best defence and after that they were at least average

You know they had Reggie Wayne for a while, right? And the Colts were a powerhouse up until Peyton's neck got destroyed. If it wasn't for New England bashing them all but I think one time, Peyton could of had 4 or so rings.

Not enough ad revenue

Not enough ad breaks

Not enough ad signs

That's bullshit. Messi just got 80m bonus for signing new contract with Barca.

They have a shitty players union so they get cucked badly by the NFL

Individual players can be paid an infinite amount. Teams are only allowed to spend so much though.

whp the fuck is the luck guy, some patriot or packer man?

how is neymar not on there?

He is at the 18th place
