John Williams' Duel of the Fates was arguably even better than any single piece of music in the original, which is no slam on the original.

That is all.

Sountrack by Johm Williams and sound design by Ben Burrt are the only redeeming factors of the prequels.

Now I wouldn't say it was better than the originals, but some of the sound effects were right up there with the best from the originals, like the phut phut phut of the pod racers.

Much of the technical stuff was first rate. It was a collapse of the epic hero storyline writing.

That's the problem with it, there's not much that improves on the OT...
That being said, at least they tried to represent the political rise to power of the Emperor, which was good.
Maul was a cool no-bullshit villain.
And then again, Lucas seems to have a gift to shit on the few good ideas in those. Jar jar giving power to palpatine. Maul getting cut in two just because, and just being an apprentice because "muh rule of two"

As said, the only 100% good thing is the sound and music. Which was the big lack in TFA

It did everything better, because they're much better movies.

Trolling or retarded opinion, this is really pathetic

The OST is fantastic. Force Awakens' sucks. It did nothing better than the original trilogy.

This

>what did Sup Forums like about the prequel trilogy?
it was original at least. boring, but original.

>What did it do better than the OT?
literally nothing what the hell are you talking about

Shitposters actually tried to force this meme around the time of TFA

We'll find out in April if Williams can still score.

I like that the prequels as an idea went with the Roman Republic vs Empire connection. I like the music. I appreciate the innovative special effects from ILM. I like the fact that they exist.

The story, the Jedi, the characters... hate them all.

The series got better by each movie, so maybe at one point Lucas would direct a pure kino SW

To say that TFA is not John Williams, then you don't know John Williams. TFA was a great score. Maybe not as flamboyant as many of the iconic scores, but a score you don't notice is sometimes the best. Honestly if you know music, know John Williams, and go back and actually listen to the score... you would lack intelligence to say it was bad or not John Williams. You would be laughed at by anyone who knows music.

The memes it produced were fantastic.

I liked the song in TFA when they blew up those planets that were strangely close to each other.

I liked the theme when Rey force pulls the lightsaber past Kylo Ren

Honorable mention to Snoke's theme, which was very similar to the opera scene from the prequels, which btw is probably a better scene than anything in TFA

It's not so much Williams but the action-heavy direction which kind of put the kabosh on extensive use of music. Rey's Theme and Jedi Steps stuck up because those scenes had good timing.

Natalie Portman.

>stuck up
Stood out

But seriously, where was the LSO?

-The ending scene of TPM.

Episode 2:

-Anakin searching for mom/killing Tuskens
-Jango vs Obi-Wan.

Episode 4:

Episode 5:
Everything is good.

Episode 6:

-Battle OVER Endor.
-Luke vs Vader and Palpatine.
-Ending scenes.

Not at all.
I know it's for the story but Han should've went out with the Falcon.

There was a weird mike zeroh video where he suggested that Han wasn't really dead...

Damn ep6 has some unnecessary scenes that make rewatches so painful. The slow fucking start at Tatooine, which takes forever and the stupid ewok scenes are right out of a kids cartoon.

they keep getting better. There is nothing else out like them. Was George right all along?

Pleb tastes. Return of the Jedi may be the weaker of the three, but it's still amazing. Quit bitching about being for kids. A movie doesn't have to have gore and porn to be good.

based mike zeroh no fucks given

...since that night at the bunny ranch last year

Maul vs Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan was the best duel in the series IMO

They expanded the universe far more than the OT did.
I like that Lucas had the guts to go completely away from the feel of the OT with a small group of spunky heroes to try and tell this epic about the fall of the Roman Republic and the rise of the Empire in space.
I like that he had the guts to give his characters flaws, to show that the Jedi actually sealed their own fate, that Obi Wan was actually a failed master and that Yoda was the deluded leader of an out of touch quasi religious order.
I like the idea of Anakin essentially turning to Sheev as a father figure because the Jedi treated him with nothing but suspicion and contempt.
The OST was absolutely God-Tier.
It led to The Clone Wars.
