>I will tell you how he lived

>im a girl btw

People didn't realize that the "samurai" in the title is plural.

...

probably because it's way too fucking long. If they would trim 30 minutes off it'd be so much better.

>be waito piggu with PTSD
>get a job where you train zipperheads on how to use guns and shiieet
>get called up to fight savages in the mountains
>even with guns your army gets rekt
>kill a few savages and get captured
>live in the house of a guy you killed
>slowly your waito piggu charisma wins everyone over, including the wife
>the guy's son treats you like a real daddy, cucking his real dead instead of avenging him
>the wife puts out before you go into battle
>be the only survivor and is able to return back to the village as a hero

People just said that it was "Dances with Wolves" but with samurai and didn't bother to think deeper into it. Or in more recent criticisms, sjw's say that its another "white man comes to save the day" flick (like Dances), which it very clearly isn't at all.

It wasn't panned? I was 15 when this movie came out, and as far as I know it did well in the box office and was average in rottentomatoes.

also ignoring that its based on real events, its just that the real dude was a frog instead of a burger

Women were a mistake.

>The Last Samurais

Wtf were they thinking?

Because people wrongly thought Tom Cruise played the titular character and were butthurt about white savior syndrome.

well, its not really great to bring up historical accuracy, since the guy Katsumoto was based off of (Saigo Takamori) had immense respect for Western military tactics and wasn't as hardcore a traditionalist as in the film. He was known to wear Western military garb (and is depicted as such in paintings) and extensively used firearms and cannons, because he wasn't an idiot and they are immensely useful. He just didn't use them in his last few battles because he couldn't procure ammunition and gunpowder. All that aside, its still a great movie

Can't wait for Jurassic World: The Last Dinosaurii

The film was essentially reactionary. Most reviewers are progressives.

Don't forget Michael Caine's role in The Last Zulu...

Because of its DISGUSTING white savior complex.
And where are the women in the main cast?
