puyol is a overrated shit who people say he's good just because he played in barça all his life. He had some good moments as a defender but still the same shit.
casillas is another overrated

The aspect of Puyol I admire is his strong leadership and he's tough as nails. Footballing wise you can make a case for better players but something you can't measure.

strong leadership meme

they both had decisive roles in 2008 and 2010 with the national team and Casillas carried Real Madrid for several years, mostly between both Florentino presidencies while having GOAT games all through his career
Puyol was more like the glue that sticks everything and makes everything work but doesn't shine too much himself, similar to Busquets plus he was the GOAT captain

Real Madrid fan here and he is right tho. I would not include him on my "Best ever team", but you need people like him to prevent scrubs as Pique, Alves, Deco or Ronaldinho taking over.
Funny thing most of ´em are brazilians. PSG could get use of a player like him before they turn into a meme in about 1-2 years.

you are most definitely around 25 years old

with that being said "that rams punter" went to my rival high school and I've hooped with him a few times. That big ginger can ball lol

>Vick
You would take Vick over Brady, Manning, or Brees?

>Fucking christ Atlanta had good pitchers.
they really did

that whole rotation in 93, 97 and 98 were beasts

they had Warren Spahn too historically speaking but Maddux has to be the best, he dominated in the steroid era of baseball

there's any defensive midfielder better than him?

Busquets

That whole rotation was fucking phenomenal. Imagine if the Yankees had gotten a hold of even one of those guys, they would have won every single WS between 1995 and 2003.

Casemiro is just the only alive brazilian DM, even Marcos Llorente is better than him

Very obviously not a best of all time 11, just players I like

Buffon, Thuram and Cannavaro played together in Parma the Juve while Cannavaro and Nesta formed a solid partnership for the national team, that familiarity is key

Spain's and Barca's midfield were tiki taka gods

Raul and Morientes were a great duo

and I guess Cafu and Roberto Carlos as much as they are Reddit tier hipster picks, they'll outrun anyone... something much needed for the flanks

AKA Team Red Card. Break their legs quickly, get the ball to Messi, Forlan hold the center backs off! Zidane to provide the 1 - 2 fodder for the midget golden boy. A truly unstoppable team on set pieces and in open play. Technical, pacy full backs provide the necessary balance.

Wasn't Gattuso a pure defender, though? Never thought of him as a midfielder.

Also where's Pepe?

Roger Federer

Only players I've seen play

>Basketball
Parker, Ginobili, Kawhi, LeBron and Duncan

>Football
Buffon; Zanetti, Puyol, Vidic and Maldini; Cambiasso, Xavi and Iniesta; Messi, Batistuta and Ronaldinho

Gattuso is a born and bred CDM. 177cm manlet, you'd never have him as a center back, but with his dogged determination to win the ball hes an absolute engine in midfield. Imagine that trio closing in on a pasty faced Iniesta or the like? Mayhem. He would retire on the spot. Pepe lacks the necessary technical ability of a Desailly or a Maldini. Desailly is so proficient with his feet you could play him at CAM. Maldini is just ice cold, the very definition of composure. You can easily see Pepe getting flustered, misplacing a pace, giving away an easy goal. Not these lads. Height, strength, technical ability. Forlan has to be the real gem in this side, his hold up play and deceptive strength makes him the ideal lone man up front. You couldn't get a R9 to accept his role as a meatshield, but Forlan would be happy to play second fiddle to Messi. Couple that with the lighting fast full backs joining every attack, not to mention those luscious pinpoint whipped balls for Lizarazu, he could well chip in with a goal or two himself. Optimal total football team.

Yeah but you called this "team red card." You can't have "Team Red Card" without Pepe.

Pepe can suck my dick.
