Arrival > Contact > Interstellar > The Martian > Moon. Haven't seen Gravity but would very much like to. Rec me some more space movies, cadets.

reddit, reddit, reddit, dad, reddit, reddit

Interstellar - 9/10
Arrival - 8/10
The Martian - 7.5/10
Gravity - 7/10
Moon - 5.5/10

Haven't seen Contact.

> love lmao and tatoes better than moon
Explain

>bunching space george clooney with these

why? these films arent at all alike and appeal to completely different demographics

Contact>>Interstellar>>>>>>>>>>>Arrival>>Moon>Gravity>>>>>The Redditian

Reddit > Reddit > Sup Forums > Reddit > Reddit

...

Moon is a 5/10 poor execution of concept with a shitty lead actor. Martian is a 6/10 popcorn flick. idk what "love lmao" is

The objectively correct list:

1. Interstellar
2. Gravity
3. Moon
4. Arrival
5. Contact
6. Martian

(Full disclosure - I haven't seen Gravity or Arrival yet)

>people unironically rate interstellar

...

>Gravity was good

Contact > Gravity >>>>> Moon = Interstellar = Martian >>>>> Arrival

I haven't seen the first two though.

correct

Moon
> 10/10

Arrival
> 9/10

The Martian
> 8.5/10

Contact
> 7/10

Interstellar
> 5/10

Gravity
> would not watch that shit/10

> Contact would rate higher but the ending is such an anti climax
> Interstellar is just so fucking scientifically retarded

Contact - 910
Interstellar - 8/10
The Martian - 6/10
Gravity - 6.5/10
Moon - 7/10

Remove Gravity and add Misson to Mars instead.

>interstellar is just so fucking scientifically retarded

How so?

Arrival: 8/10
Contact: 8/10
Interstellar: 7/10
Gravity: 5/10
The Martian: 4/10
Moon: 4/10

Its science is dumb. Also I was the inspiration for the film.

Just as pic related was the inspiration for Oblivion.

For me, personally:
1.Moon (true kino, in my Top 5)
2.Interstellar
3. Gravity, Martian (same plot with reversed genders, didn't like the performance of the leading act, typical Hollywood blockbusters without a soul, overrated).
4. Arrival (boring, stupid plot, overrated)

Contact I just don't remember.

One of my favourite hard sci-fi movies.

>Contact I just don't remember.
I think the underlying theme is related to schizophrenia.

Agree with all this except you've rated the Martian a little highly. Also, science is the least of Interstellar's problems, it's a loose and disjointed plot which doesn't make sense and the whole love theme is retarded. The dustbowl earth stuff is clearly supposed to be a separate movie but it's been smushed together with the space stuff so clumsily. Ugh.

For reference.

What was good about gravity? After clooney """"dies"""" it's impossible to take seriously

>hasn't seen gravity
>puts it in the second place

it's like you just want yous

1. Arrival
2. Gravity
3. Interstellar
4. Moon
5. Contact
6. Martian

>Not having Moon as your #1

Agree
>Movie about Gravity
>Fuck gravity and basic psychics obvious to the 9 y/o, because we didn't found smarter way to make his character to sacrifice himself

I like the director and it looks pretty good. I haven't seen Arrival either, yet I noticed you didn't talk shit about that cause you know I got it in the right place.

>Moon
>Contact
>Gravity
POWERGAP
>Interstellar
>Arrival
POWERGAP
The Martian

Noooooooooo

MY niggers, agree that Moon is the better Filme
the rest are eh but Moon is true Spacekino

Solaris

contact is the only one i consider as good sci-fi
also this scene

>I can Le see the future strong womyn and im still gonna let my daughter die and suffer xDDD
Better than Contact or Moon
KYS

>Decent tier
Moon, Interstellar
>Reddit film buff tier
Arrival
>Pleb tier
Contact, The Martian, Gravity

this

...

You didn't watched the movie - so there is no sense in rating it, genius. If "director had good movies before" and "trailer looks great" are valid reasons to rate something, then Suicide Squad is an action movie of the year.

>Dad
>came out in '97
wewwww

...

this thread made want to watch Moon again.
See you in 1:37:00
bros

Maybe I'm just better at predicting how much I'll like stuff than you.

Its a good movie,if you can watch it with commentary track the directors explain everything they did.

Contact > Martian > Moon > Arrival > Gravity > Interstellar

>Released before some 20 year men walking around today were born
Dadcore.

Now I have to find that edition with commentary, saw the original 10 times already.

1. Moon
2. Arrival
3. Interstellar
4. Contact
5. Gravity
6. The Martian

I can hook you up if you want

Why Contact?

Moon - very good

Interstellar - haven't watched, generally don't like Nolan

The Martian - haven't watched, sceptical about modern Scott

Contact - haven't watched

Arrival - great

Gravity - good

Contact
Arrival
Moon
Interstellar
The Martian
Gravity

If you liked Arrival then watch Interstellar and Contact
Skip The Martian.

Dadcore seems like a reddit or tumblr kinda thing, my dad is in his 70's and enjoys the cinema of Louis Malle

the sad thing is these movies are the best sci-fi has offered us in the last 20 years.

sci-fi is dead

I liked Arrival mainly because of the linguistics aspect and general theme of (mis)communication.
I suppose Contact also deals with those, but not Interstellar, as far as I'm concerned

Gravity isnt even a movie, its a 3D Amusement Park Ride. watch that shit in 2D at home and its literally nothing.

fucking nerd

Arrival deals with the mom and her kid. and being a parent.
Interstellar has the same theme.

>the aliens gave us a wormhole
>you randomly stumbled onto our facility, become our pilot
>not being crushed by the gravity of the black hole.

Interstellar is overrated. The plot is too convenient for how serious and grounded in science the movie is trying to be.

not that user but also interested! pls

>you randomly stumbled onto our facility
Except he didn't. He got the coordonates of the facility from his future self, but they didn't knew it at the time. They thought he was "chosen", plus he used to be a great pilot in his early career.

It's like you guys didn't watch the movie.

Interstellar is all about the cinematic experience.
The narrative is all over the place yes, but Interstellar was by far the best cinema experience of my life, pure audio visual candy.
You simply can't experience the same thing in your home no matter what system you have.

I would gladly pay every year for an analog 2D IMAX Interstellar screening.

tHIS IS almost true.

Contact - great
moon - ok
gravity - shit
interstaller-shit
the damon- shit
arrival - will never watch

only other decent sci-fi in last ten years

district 9
oblivion
elysuim
in time

Moon > Arrival > Interstellar > Contact > Gravity> Martian

Moon 8,5/10
Arrival, didn't watch yet
The Martian 8/10
Contact, I've watched it but don't remember enough to rate it. I only remember I found it really good.
Interstellar 9/10
Gravity 6,5/10

Moon - 8.5
Contact - 8
Gravity - 8
Martian - 8
Arrival - 8
Interstellar - 7

did I download arrival or no? pls respond

Moon>>>>>The Martian>Contact>>Interstellar>Gravity(Would be above interstellar but I fucking hate George Clooneys smug face and that 1 stereotypic role he can pull off)>Arrival

moon - 8/10
arrival - 7/10
contact - 7/10
interstellar - 6/10
the martian - 6/10
gravity - 3/10

Gibe link

1. Moon
2. Contact
3. Arrival
4. Interstellar
5. Martian
6. Gravity

>In time

I really don't see how you can find Arrival so shit you'll never watch it, yet at the same time find Elysium decent. You must some grade A manchild, user.

Out of the ones i've seen
Interstellar>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>arrival=martian>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>gravity
I loved interstellar once i stopped caring about whether the events were scientifically valid. All the others were just mind numbingly boring to me.

Moon >> Arrival > Interstellar > Gravity > Martian

I haven't seen Contact

1. Contact
2. Arrival
3. Why did they use a 2-stage rocket to leave earth but had no problem leaving wave planet with their shitty shuttle?
4. Moon
5. The Martian
6. Gravity

In time and Elysium are literally in the same tier with Gattaca, Arrival, Cloud Atlas and rest of the generic garbage scifi with retarded plots that only serve as a platform to overdramatize stupid shit.

>oblivion good
Are you retarded or something

1. Moon
2. Contact
3. Gravity
4. Arrival
5. The Martian
6. Interstellar

>Why did they use a 2-stage rocket to leave earth but had no problem leaving wave planet with their shitty shuttle?

Conserving fuel? They can just dump those from the 2-stage rocket and voila efficiency.
It's shown in the film that the space program isn't sufficiently funded so they have to be as economical as they can.

The other reason is for Nolan using the actual rocket launch footage and those side mounted camera views from the rocket which are mounted the same on the pickup truck as Cooper leaves his house (leaving home = leaving Earth)

t. stifler

>"In time" is decent, better than everything in the op's list apart from "contact"
Elysium is really a good action sci-fi user. Rich vs Poor etc
Gattaca and cloud atlas were also good movies.
Are you an affective team?

Gravity>Arrival=Interstellar=Moon>The Martian

Didn't see Contact.

Moon>Contact and the rest of the movies were bad

and contact is bad too so actually take that off the list as well

>Interstellar - 9/10
>Moon - 5.5/10
Figures.

Garbage - Kino - Flick
