OP you should read the book. Patrick is the narrator, and there are entire chapters where he describes music from the time period. He does Huey Lewis, of course, but others too like Genesis and Robert Palmer.

He goes into extensive detail about them in the book, literally entire chapters are just describing an artist. There are other artists described too but I forget - it's been like 10 years since I read it.
