Season 1 is the best television kino in the last decade

Season 1 is the best television kino in the last decade

yes

One episode of Legion is already better than this whole season.

Agreed.

This and World Peace.

what am i looking at here

nope, Legion is truly shit

>capeshit
Wrap your car around a tree tonight

Close but The Young Pope is better.

Is the second season worth watching and only bad if you compare it to the first or is it just complete shit?

You are not fooling anyone Sam, go back to being out of work and not being able to afford health care.

This.

True detective

God the Rustposting era was so comfy

It's good. I personally think it's as good as the first one. Just different.

Dumbest, shittiest show I've watched in a long time

Literally kill yourself

Second season is utter shit.

Ahahah!
Being this wrong...

but The Sopranos Season 6B was in the last decade

is season 2 worth a watch?

you're so wrong

>tfw sisnt understand the symbols till after pizzagate

...

it's not very difficult

I just marathoned the first thirty minutes of the first episode and it's pretty good so far, although Rust is kinda reddit tier.

It's just a ripoff of Chambers, Conspiracy Against the Human Race, and one Alan Moore comic

They used the pedo symbol tho - i didnt know what pre pizza gate

everything is stolen

So was Marty's daughter molested?

Ah yes

The common hypothesis is that Maggie's father is part of the cult

>Conspiracy Against the Human Race

In this book Ligotti mentions how betrayed he feels whenever a seemingly pessimistic story ends on a high note. Seems like he would feel betrayed by True Detective.

This

These are really interesting. Do you have more?

Sure. What do you have for trade?

Yes.

>capeshit
>better than anything

I've gotten far too old for this website

Second season is a convoluted mess. Contrarians will argue it's better just because, it truly isn't.

yeah

Will this do?

...

pepes

...

The standards for TV have gone really downhill, I agree.

>muh things are not what they seem
>each scene has meaning
>each jumpcut is deep as the mariana trench
>stories dont have to be coherent
>replaced ugly guy with somewhat cute girl but it was entirely for plot reasons

i have a bunch of pictures of snakes wearing hats

I don't enjoy tv shows, so everybody recommended me the first season of TD because it's more of a "mini-series", not a tv show for them.

Well for me the experience was exactly like any other tv show, unenjoyable.

The primary focus is on the narrative and nothing else, the repetitive structure, countless establishing shots and shots of a car entering a location, countless "let's go to a bar for a beer" exposition dialogues, every episode has to end with a cliffhanger, every episode has one big moment where it all builds up to, countless twists and turns etc

Like any other tv show.
Most of the time you don't even have to look at the screen, the back to back camerawork in dialogues get's so overused that you can basically just listen to the conversation without even watching the screen and grasp all the information you need because the written narrative is the main thing here, while in film it's the visual narrative.

post sneks then

this

when you have the chance end yourselves, greeneared autists

you got it

Came to post this, TD season 1 comes close though

you are right

it's still entertainment, I always have a tv show playing while doing stuff on my pc

...

...

...

...

TD is overrated. underwhelming ending

Haha I relaly like this picture Jon. Mind if I save it?

...

>underwhelming ending

I agree. I think think the optimism of the ending was inconsistent with the pessimism and atmosphere of corruption that was built up in the preceding episodes.

Save it, it's all yours my friend :-)

...

This meme got so JUST'd by normies

...

>Mad Men
>The Young Kino
>The Americans

No. It had beautiful direction and solid acting, but thats it.

this is my last hatsnek. can i have more TD explainations nao kthnx

your set seems to be missing this classic

damn nice

What's going on in this thread?

>The Americans

I watched the first episode and wasn't impressed. Does it get better?

none of your concern

Much, much better yes, I felt the same after the first episode actually, it's quite common. First few episodes are good, but then it moves onto great w/ each passing season, the last of which was incredible.

Hello fellow snek
how do you do

Yes, it only gets better after the first season and stays that way. Especially after the show gets past the whole thing with Philip and Elizabeth doing the "will they won't they actually love each other thing".

I have the same issue with most tv shows. I watch one episode and just barely make it through and already am tired of it by the end.

The only exception was Hannibal. And I doubt anything similar will ever be as successfully executed in the future.

hmm sssomething ssseemsss ssssuspiccciousss

One of the most boring things I've ever watched. Couldn't get past 3 episodes.

t. brainlet

Forgot to take your ritalin?

The Sopranos finished airing in 2007
Mad Men
The Young Pope

any other movies or shows that capture the vibe of True Detective s1?

some of these elements
>dark, brooding, pessimistic, amoral
>southern gothic, backwoods, rural setting
>satanic cults, the occult, elite cults

Interview With The Vampire kinda

Kill-List by Ben Wheatley

so, Sup Forums loves young pope because nobody likes it, right?

>capeshit
lmao

Movies:
The Skeleton Key, Frailty, In Fear, Valerie a týden divu

TV:
The Following

wew

I was disappointed by the finale. When it was revealed that Cohle was in a coma, I remembered the woman with Munchausen by proxy who had been killing her children by switching off their life support systems. I thought it was foreshadowing and that Cohle was about to be killed in a similar way. The upbeat ending felt at odds with the atmosphere of the first six episodes. The fact that Marty and Rust accept that they can't catch the people still committing these abuses, and are apparently content with that, felt wrong.

but that's not Season 2 of The Leftovers

I Am Not a Serial Killer

Is the the little boy lover logo?

This show is even shilled at /his/ I really should pirate it

>Season 1 is the best television kino in the last decade

pretty much

Only the first 5 episodes
>that atmosphere
>that Rust
>all those clues and mysteries
Then it went full retard L&O tier in the last 3
>Those clues? Oh it means nothing!
>Marty's daughters reenacting the rapes almost exactly like it's shown on the tape? His oldest daughter clearly traumatized? I DON'T KNOW LOL
Pizza deserves to be executed

>Liv Tyler will never tie you up and rape you in the back of a van and then chop your dick off

I know that feel all too well my friend

Whats going on here?

>that slight bush visible through the panties

The ending completely sucked, it was completely out of tune with the rest of the show.

The storytelling is more layered in season 2 with the theme being sex instead of faith. Unfortunately only one of the four main characters has some emotional investment in the main conflict, it also doesn't fully resolve its main theme of "everything is fucking" but there's a lot to be said about its thoughts on gender roles. Annie as a character is Pizza taking a huge dump on everyone who was asking for a badass female after season 1.

Season 2 was a rushed mess with one dimensional characters.

was rust the true yellow king?

Season 1 was fedora meme shit.
