The NRA and gun lobby uses violence and coercion to try to re-write the constitution in order to protect their profits, and the blood of all these massacres is on their hands.
No one needs one of these 55.6 caliber assault guns for defense or deer hunting. It's time to end this and implement some common sense gun control.

The well-regulated militia clause is not the central concept of the amendment. Also, the militia was meant to be ANY MALE LANDOWNER at the time as having a gun was necessary to feeding and defending one's family.
The Federalists saw the Bill of Rights as unnecessary, and the Anti-Federalists pushed through the dissent that, namely, "“that the people have a right to bear arms for the defense of themselves and their own state, or the United States, or for the purpose of killing game; and no law shall be passed for disarming the people or any of them, unless for crimes committed, or real danger of public injury from individuals." This was eventually ratified as the term in the 2nd Amendment.

But if you realize it's meaningless unless private sale background checks are also required, then to close that 'loophole' you give the government a database of who owns every gun.
