Way of the Gun, where they offer to fuckstart Sarah Silverman's head after she talks shit and then immediately get the shit kicked out of them.

Dawn Of The Dead intro.
youtube.com
Day of the Dead is pretty good to.
youtube.com
I remember how hyped the Dawn of the Dead remake intro got me, too bad it turned into complete shite.
Hardcore Henry has a based intro.
I like zombie films that get straight into it.
fucking great masterpiece. the "hellos" sync so well with the music.
Inglorious Basterds
I believe in america
DIE HARD 3
Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty
Been down, isn't it a pity
Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city
All around, people looking half dead
Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head
But at night it's a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come-on come-on and dance all night
Despite the heat it'll be alright
And babe, don't you know it's a pity
That the days can't be like the nights
In the summer, in the city
In the summer, in the city
Cool town, evening in the city
Dressing so fine and looking so pretty
Cool cat, looking for a kitty
Gonna look in every corner of the city
Till I'm wheezing like a bus stop-
-BOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!!
this but unironically
It's Raiders
>favorite

Anything by Russ Meyer.
No one intro a movie like Russ Meyer and no one edits like him, a talent beyond his time.
Gladiator
Killing Them Softly
Well, there was me......
Children of Men. Boom
Technically it's not the opening scene, that's the fight, but this opening credits sequence is basically Zack Snyder's hall pass:
Less than 2 minutes in:
>"It's an ugly planet, a BUG planet!"
GOAT
I never noticed Gerard Butler's in the credits. And over Dr. Manhattan, too. That takes balls.
Speaking of opening scenes: youtube.com
28 Weeks Later has a pretty badass opening scene as well.

The intro to the departed is forever ingrained in my mind

La Horla De Los Hornos

Just for nostalgia purposes though. This is the first movie I can remember watching. That opening shot of Ace's feet is a comforting memory for me. My parents must have bought the tape for me when I was 4. Still have it too. It even has my initials written on it by my mother from when I would take it to the baby sitter's house.
Roxie Hart cucking her husband in Chicago.
ha, what a random choice.
...
Has the actual used-in-the-film version of this track ever been released? The official score version isn't the same.
Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas
...
Temple of Doom
I'm talkin' about...ethics.
High Fidelity
>What came first: the music or the misery?
The Last Boy Scout
What kino?
inb4 pleb
Conan the Barbarian.
Starts with Conan's dad telling him some fantastic worldbuilding mythic, ending in "We who found it, are just men. Not Gods. Not Giants. Just men."
youtube.com
Then it goes into Riders of Doom, which is amazing.
Conan doesn't aspire to any particularly lofty heights, but when it comes to doing everything you aimed to do perfectly, it's probably very close to perfect.
Hardboiled
Also, Magnolia with the coincidences + the character introduction.

BRAAAAAP
Best opening scene ever.
>Smells like balls
It tells you just about everything you need to know about the world during a chase scene there are a lot of little details you can catch too.
I feel it in the water...
this is legit one of my favs opening. better than mos opening
youtube.com
Off the top of my head.

Am I the first person to post unironically?
I love the opening credits.

I guess theres no point in any of us going with the obvious since we all know
hell yeah
every time i watch it even though we all know the explosion happens but because of the music i can never pinpoint the exact point and it gets me by surprise every time
28 Weeks Later came to mind immediately. It's great
Not a contester as one of the best, but I thought the opening of Coraline was very charming
The intro was my favourite part of the movie, unless we count the the deleted Hollis Mason fight scene.
This is the worst opening scene ever, because after that greatness the rest of the movie felt even more shit than it was.
KINO
I
N
O
there is a comet in the intro that is the alien ion sky
Probably Up. Too bad the rest of the movie couldn't live up to it.
Two Towers
The balloon burst.
yep, mine too.
The Rock
youtube.com
"They're not coming for us are they sir?"
youtube.com
You are now manually dancing with your feet.
This is what came to mind immediately for me too.Too bad the rest of the film is shit.
this scene and some Nick Cage scenes almost made it a good movie

Once Upon a Time in the West
