No. Accusing Top Gun of homosexuality is far from a hot take. His conceit is that Ice Man and the pilots are pulling him towards homosexuality, while Charlie is pulling him towards heterosexuality, but that implies they want different things which they do. Maverick flies like a wild card, and Charlie as well as Ice Man both want him to git gud at flying by their standards. If anything it is Charlie as well as Ice Man who learn by the end of the movie that Maverick is already gud, and they just need to broaden their definitions of what qualifies as gud flying. Tarrantino also argues that Charlie gives up on Maverick and concedes him to homosexuality and Ice Man, but she meets him at the very end is they are clearly still romantically involved as the credits roll. On top of that, the line he quotes is incorrect. It actually goes like this:
