How are chiropractors even allowed to get a license to treat people in the United States? Do people actually believe their quack healing powers? What am I missing?

Bump

Because they can't prescribe medicine or perform surgery so nobody cares. They can give massages and crack your spine and look at X-rays. It started with some magnet healing scam and its for people who don't want to go to actual doctors or take medicine. Maybe there's something more to it but, yeah massage works nicely, but rest is scam.

I've had chronic neck pain for my entire life and I started going to the chiropractor in 2008. Been to neurologist after neurologist and they didn't do shit.

I get relief for a day or two and that's fine by me. Don't even care what the long term effects are. Living pain free for a portion of my life is bliss.

>healing powers
What healing powers? Its a "legit" treatment in the sense that they are fixing your bones misalignment. Not sure how helpful is but am damn sure that it feels good.

Chiropractics was created from the belief all disease originated from a misaligned spinal column.

MOST CHIROPRACTORS ARE SCAM ARTISTS

Be sure that they have the proper certificates in your state, if they dont have any (even if the state doenst require them) DO NOT go to them.

The chiropractor is going for helping with some nagging chronic ailments. I had some nasty curvature in my spine between my shoulder blades. I had this nagging pinching pain, and frequent heartburn.

After a month the heartburn subsided greatly, a few more months after that the pain and heartburn was gone. After a while I even grew another half inch because my spine was actually straightened.

It's not a cure-all by any means, but your central nervous system is a big deal when it comes to your health. And it works primarily through the spinal cord. Having your spine in good alignment helps out a lot. Eat healthy and exercise too, don't be surprised if you become one of those rare 80 year old people who don't take any meds.

chiropractors are like psychiatrists

neither are doctors but the placebo makes you feel good

In the realm of sports therapy/rehab they can be well worth it.

They have political power. They even have insurance companies paying them. Fucking scammers.

Well shrinks are legit for helping the retarded and the schizophrenic but the rest of it is mind control and scam bulllshit drug sales.

Yeah I don't get why insurance can't cover licensed massage therapists if its all about relieving pain.

youtube.com/watch?v=QK9-nynYdX4

I lose it when he brings the Black & Decker power tools out.

Chiropractors are witch doctors!

Go to a physiotherapist.

I know but that doesn't mean its bad simply because they believed so.

I have scoliosis, I either go for weekly chiropractic treatments (which do straighten out my spine and relieve pain for a while) or I get super Jew expensive surgery that leaves me with metal rods fused to my spine and I won't be able to lift for a long time.

First, chiropractors specialize (or are at least supposed to) in all joints. Second, I'd suggest not fucking with them. They can snap your neck seven ways to sunday.

>that thing is inside of me
>it's inside of all of us

as a competitive weightlifter just chiros are usually shit just like doctors have 0 knowledge on nutrition and managing injuries. The guys that know their shit and have helped me most were people that were chiropractors and physiotherapists only physio are shit too.

Either pay the Jew now or pay him for the rest of your life.

Psychiatrists are literally MDs or DOs.

What's he doing with the table when he pushes down on her?

getting your spine adjusted feels good temporarily, but it's very observable and does help some people with chronic pain. so there's a population that it benefits. it does have adverse effects, like higher spine adjustments can fuck up your vertebral artery. it's kind of whatever desu.

>magical pharma pills from jews with falsified studies
>not quackery
>anything that isnt part of their pharmaco industry
>quackery

good goy

Chiropractics is a scam art and people fall for it constantly, like this idiot
I bet if he just stopped going to the chiropractor he wouldn't have any pain period, and his pain probably stopped around the same time he started coincidentally, and he thinks its the chiroquack.

... Psychiatrists are doctors and need licenses to prescribe medication. They also have certifying boards.

you're a fucking idiot.

Or get a massage like this from a QT white woman:
youtu.be/M0G1g-FtlV4

I got a severe ear infection once and the tract that drains mucus from your inner ear to your neck got inflamed and clogged. Worst Pain in my fucking like, like a drill going inside your head through your ear.
Mum took me to a chiropractor and with a quick neck pop, he opened the drainage canals and it was instantaneous relief.
My anecdotal two cents, but I believe in chiropractors

Chiropractors work famalam. You can feel and see when your back is out of place. Going to one makes a huge difference.

So do sugar pills, famalamadingdong. You're a surefire smarty who is probably about 19 years old in his first hipy dippy college year :)

You realize a neck pop cannot "open drainage canals" right?

Actually no I'm not, I don't go all the time but I can tell when I pull my back out of place. I can look in the mirror and my neck will be slightly off to the side. I go to a chiropractor and he pops my back into place. People that go to fix anything that isn't back related are retarded.

>4 posts by this ID
>All detracting
Get a life hombre, I am jealous of your free time

My chiropractor is great and my back is 100% getting better because of it

>2 posts by this ID
>all bullshit

Show me a picture of the "drainage canals" that come from the ear.

I REALLY want to know what these are.

I'm just incredibly curious to know that popping a neck relates to the mystical "drainage canals" located in the ear. I'm unfamiliar with this aspect of human anatomy, enlighten me, okay?

What if the people posting about how chiropractors are quacks are actually shills working on the behalf of big pharma companies and other health related companies? I mean you go to a doctor about your spine and either you get meds or some super expensive surgery that leaves you in crippling pain for months on end.

Yeah, popping something back into place is not the same thing as or even

Chiropractors can prescribe medication and many are part of the big pharma companies, you fucking moron.

...

I think he means sinus or maybe the chiro ruptured his tympanic membrane.

They cannot prescribe medication wtf.

The eustation tube links to the ear to the upper part of the mouth.
You're telling me by popping your neck, which means pushing a bone in your spine until it pops, he opened up... Your throat?

Chiropractic treatment can help and it can be worthless

Usually it works best in conjunction with other therapies but rarely does it suffice alone. Alone, it is best at providing temporary relief especially if you are dopamine junkie that gets fixes from cracking various parts of your body.

Having said that, I herniated my L5-S1 and it took a combination of treatments to find relief, and the combination came out of recommendation from my chiro. I had seen a PT for a few months. He had given me some spot ultrasound treatment, stretches to do, some pool therapy... none of it really worked, but then I started to couple it with chiro and some bodyweight exercises.

Chiro basically put it like this.... "I can temporarily manipulate your lumbar to the correct place, but it won't stay there. However, If you limber up(ie: PT stretches) and strengthen the muscles in your back and core (bodyweight exercises) then the more likely your core will take a load off your spline and allow it to stay where its adjusted to"

this made perfect sense to me so I did all three. My sciatica was gone within 2 weeks, I was back in the gym in 5 weeks.

Chiros have their place, but they are not the end all be all.

...

People use chiropractors for things other than cracking your back into place after an injury or something?

I work for a personal injury lawyer. We pretty much keep these places afloat because the only way to get a decent injury settlement is to show you're treating. These guys will rack up a bill for us and once we get the demand done with the insurance company we are able to reduce the medical bills and thus give more money to the client and keep more for ourselves.

>get client into treatment
>chiros send us and huge bill and sometimes recommend an MRI
>if MRI is deemed economically feasible we send a Letter of Protection
>if herniated discs or severe bulges are found we can justify a orthopedic surgeon consult and/or epidural steroid injections
>get sent bills from healthcare providers we work with
>we use this to negotiate settlement with
>once we receive the money we can talk with the providers to reduce the bills
>we milked the case for more than it was worth
>everyone gets their share

If theyre not real doctors then how can they prescribe medications?

CHECKMATE ATHEISTS

You're a fucking idiot.

The same way physical therapists, nutritionists, and acupuncturists get licenses to prescribe medication.

CHECKMATE MORON

Show me where it says they have a controlled substance license.

>"I can temporarily manipulate your lumbar to the correct place, but it won't stay there. I'm glad this made perfect sense to you, because it makes absolutely no fucking sense to me.

Unless
>Exercise
Is somehow special advice.

>acupuncturists
the only real quacks in modern "medicine"

Being a word nitpick/overly literal/ hyper denotation fag cannot save you from the intellectual checkmate I just instilled on your ass

Feel free to kill yourself

Is being a Massage Therapist degenerate?

Actually I've done it and its very sedating and reduced my blood pressure measurably, but you have to do it regularly for it to work, like a couple times a week and most don't bother with that, just try it once.

U ever had a guy cum all over ur hands?

CDS is state, DEA is federal.

Does myself count?

You didn't do shit except link me to a tube that's sealed off and full of air pressure. That's not a "drainage canal" you fucking idiot. The only way the ear drains is externally.

You can't fucking pop a neck and "open drainage canals."

No wonder American education is mocked.

Just show me where it says chiropractors can prescribe controlled substances please.

Chiropractors can be good if you have nerves being pinched or something out of alignment, always get a referral from a doctor tho.

You are actually a jewish shill. This is pol not fit why are you talking about this? Im sure therr are quacks in this industry just like therr are many quack doctors.

No but if someone already has a middle ear infection it might be enough to rupture the tympanic membrane and then it WILL drain. I had this happen to me as a kid.

I mostly go because she's hot as shit and I get to rub my boner on her

>spouting chiropractic nonsense
There is no "manipulation" of the neck that will do shit for your fucking ear infection. Fluids do not "drain" out of the tubes in your ear, and if they are there, you are going to spread the infection and cause more damage to the ear.

Jesus Christ people are stupid.

omg dood wake up
mmajunkie.com/2015/09/ufcs-mitch-clarke-tells-story-of-acupuncture-needle-shaped-like-a-z-stuck-in-his-arm

There*

Typing on a phone is gay

Sage and report

It might be enough to break the tympanic membrane if its already infected. Not saying that's good, then you go to a medical doctor, but I had a middle ear infection as a kid and it ruptured accidentally and then drained.

I and my gf went and had a professional massage done and felt ripped off honestly. I have a numb spot on my back and read to try a massage. First I thought it was awkward I got a woman and she got a man. The woman wasn't strong enough to give a deep enough massage and only went from my hands, arms, pecs and shoulders before the hour was up.

THE JOOOOOOOOOS THE JOOOOOS ARE HERE
REDPILL, BLUEPILL, HAPPENING!!! OH MY GOD YOU GUYS

Chiropractors are glorified massage therapists. You are better off going to physical therapy, not letting some fucking quack bend and twist your bones in a way that can severely fuck you up.

There's a reason neck manipulation and strokes have a huge correlation and why you shouldn't let a fucking chiropractor touch you.

>mmajunkie.com/2015/09/ufcs-mitch-clarke-tells-story-of-acupuncture-needle-shaped-like-a-z-stuck-in-his-arm
I've never had that happen they are very thin needles that barely go in the skin. This says he was doing "intramuscular" therapy so it sounds like he got up to some more severe quackery than penetrating the epidermis and maybe bit of the dermis.

Exactly, just go to a massage therapist.

psychiatrists are medical doctors you fucking moron

>now people are talking about their experiences with acupuncturists

i'll definitely say that for massage if you want something with any type of deepness/ not just flowy feel good massage, have a male therapist
However in my mind when you say numbness in your back that sounds more neurological than a muscular problem.

That's what I did

>deepness
>male therapist
For the deep tissue massage right

but you understand that its all chinese voodoo that isnt backed by any serious science

And your source? lol

Report this thread. It isnt politics.

It's cool senpai, I'll break it down for you in the way I understand it. I do know a bit of what I'm talking about as a /fit/izen, but I understand if you don't wanna take my word for it.

>I can temporarily manipulate your lumbar to the correct place, but it won't stay there
If you have a back injury, this is often caused or made worse by a spine segment being off kilter. A good chiro can feel where this takes place and adjust that section of your back to be back in line and give temp relief but it will drift back unless..

>If you limber up
>strengthen the muscles in your back
On the surface it might seem as if these two would contradict one another, but you can do both at the same time. Muscles get used to their default position. If you sit all day, you're tight in certain areas as a result. Posterior chain being one. If a spinal segment gets fucked up or out of line by some traumatic injury, it can get "stuck" there because the muscles around it contract back to their normal state after it gets off and tighten up and make it hard or impossible for it to move back. Loosening up these muscles allows less tension for the spinal segment to works against when being adjusted back.

Likewise, strengthening the entire core takes tension or "weight" off the entire spine as core muscles are bearing more load of your bodies weight and taking that strain off of the spine. This also allows for less resistance in the spine's journey back to health.

Tl;dr: if your core strength and posterior chain flexibility and mobility are good, the more effective chiro can be...

Well no but it did demonstrably lower by blood pressure when I did it on a regular basis and reduce pain. But I mean that was doing it 3-4 x a week. I don't think it "cures" anything, just sedates you and reduces pain sort of like a massage, but the needles produce the effects.

Neither is chiropractic work and there's people swearing by it in this thread.

You sound like a fucking idiot right now. This board isn't just about politics, it's about things that are not politically correct to discuss.

>Source, lol

Of what? Neck manipulation leading to strokes?
lmgtfy.com/?q=Neck manipulation stroke correlation

Girls can't give pressure at all for shit during a massage, you want deep pressure and to actually fix shit go to a male therapist, if you want to get jacked off go to the asian parlours and have them rim your asshole fag.

the electrical shit has affects on your muscles and nervous system, but thin pieces of metal in your skin does jack nigger

Is that an option? I'd rather be rimmed while I jack.

How did you need a chiropractor to tell you to get stronger

Neck pops occur because of air released from the fluid in your joints

That's gonna be next. Found a less labor intensive job since then so my back hasn't been bothering me as much. Maybe had my expectations a little too high. Still didn't feel good enough to try again.

Nah its a pretty distinct sensation because it stimulates your nerves, have you tried it? You get like a 1-2 hour nap-tired feeling out of it.

I've had very deep pressure from females and its really just how strong/fit they are + experienced. Ask ahead of time how much of their work is deep tissue or trigger point (both are nice).

nah, but my bro did the electral shit, said it was gay then saw a doctor insted

Posting without comment

I don't mean to be demeaning, but i'm just going to assume by the nature of your question that you don't exercise/lift.

I've been lifting for about 5 years. I hurt myself lifting. I didn't NEED a chiro to tell me to get stronger. I needed a chiro AND other specialists to tell me what was wrong and how to fix it.

For me, the main issue was flexibility. I lift a lot but I work a desk job 40 hours a week and shitpost countless others. I had, and still have but to a lesser degree tight hammies and a tight posterior chain. This was why I got hurt. It wasn't an issue of strength, but for some people, it can be.

For the strength aspect of recovery, I focused solely on core using body weight, and did a shit load of flexibility and mobility exercises.

Holy shit kek
From 9:30

I mean the non-electrical shit (never tried the electrical) works just fine. Usually like maybe 1-2 of the needles hit a capillary and are slightly painful but you can always ask them to remove one or two that hurt and its pretty relaxing. If you have high blood pressure or insomnia it can be pretty nice. I don't know why you would go out of your way to try the electrical kind.

and "modern" medicine started out from the belief that you could turn lead into gold you stupid fuck. Everything has its start somewhere, and if you go back far enough you'll find something that we now know is ridiculous and absurd.

>I am some annoying normie yuppie and I need a special snowflake cure

>someone makes thread hating on chiro
>I know about chiro very well and explain it as best as I can to try to add something to thread

I'm sorry this triggered you user. Just trying to help people.

Just do yoga if you have a bad back. If it fixed mine, it will fix yours. Don't be a faggot just because yoga is an Eastern/feminine thing. It's very beneficial.
