>Wont bother saving anyone if he is lazy

Nice hero you got there senpai

kinda pointless to compare them seeing as he's made to be a parody of overpowered superheros, not meant to be taken seriously

>has fun being a hero
that's not true, he finds it boring

>has fun being a hero
The entire shtick of his character is that he literally can't have fun because he enjoys fighting strong opponents but he's so far above everyone he might as well be fighting ants.
And Superman most definitely is a better character and a better superhero than Saitama.

P1. One Meme Man is anime
P2. All anime is dogshit

C1. One Meme Man is dogshit

>has fun being a hero
Nigger the entire premise of the show is that he's so fucking powerful he's lost all interest in being a super hero. Did you even check it out or are you simply shitposting?

>the man of murder snaps necks and flys through buildings to "save" people

and then he's stressed about making rank

When are people going to learn that this reasoning logically makes everything shit? This isn't rocket science.

>meme

you win guy, since you're so obviously the smartest one here can you tell me what site I should go back to?

Any other anime kino Sup Forums recommends?

You have to go back. You know where.

Because higher ranked heroes get assigned more difficult monsters to take care of, making it more likely he'd encounter someone who might be fun to fight.
>user has trouble following a comedy series
Every time.

He says several times he is a hero for fun.
Unlike Superman who looks like he'd rather be somewhere else everytime he saves someone, Saitama actually likes what he does.

Gantz: O
Cowboy Bebop

obvious bait but anyway

He's a hero as a hobby, he wanted it to be fun, but he's so strong that it's boring to him.

>has fun being a hero

He literally is the definition of the quote "the worlds smartest man poses no more threat to me than does its smartest termite" from watchmen.

He's so far above everybody that he doesn't find any joy in being an hero.

All he wants is like the dream he had in the first episode
youtube.com/watch?v=UsMQKHonvpI

instead not even the strongest being in the universe is a match for him

youtube.com/watch?v=wEKsTNv2ecs

Nah, when he's running around, looking for anyone to fight, he's worried about getting booted.

Caped Baldy has the power of being a gag character, and I'm not aware of any western hero that shares the same characteristics (yet again, western comics are not my thing).

>one punch man
>can't even beat boros in one punch
LOL

Why do people say Saitama is stronger than Goku/Superman?

His feats are a fucking joke in comparison

Because it's more cliched than the things it makes fun of.
It's also the same fucking joke / scenario every episode.
There was one potentially interesting setup in the season and of course it got ruined by "le one joke meme saves the day, epic deconstruction xD"

One Piece

He can beat anything in one punch, he just usually uses like 0.00001% of his power. It's like if you were swatting a fly (ironically which he has trouble with) would you use ALL of your strength behind the swing? Do you open a door by literally wrenching on it with all of your body behind it? He uses as little force as he can, because that's usually enough.

Ping Pong The Animation

> 0.00001
Stop pulling numbers out your ass. His name is One Punch Man. Not One Serious Punch Man.
>fly
Ironic because he couldn't swat a fly or catch it before.

They are a joke, because the whole thing is a parody of superheros, not to be taken seriously in comparison to actual comic book superheros and their strengths

Because that is literally his thing. He one punches everyone. Except if means the last ayy lmao at the end. I didn't understand that either. The first punch that released him from his restraint suit. That should have been a one punch if we are to believe his name. The second was to the side and blew his arm off so I can excuse that one. Then the whole consecutive punch thingy is like a super overkill I guess. Then as I'm typing this the other user above me just responded kind of explaining it so maybe that's why.

Anyway, point being is that it's almost impossible to compare saitama to Goku and Superman who already are almost impossible to compare to each other. Saitama was made to be factually the most powerful being. Superman needs kryptonite and Goku needs a power level, both so they actually have struggles and conflict in their respective universes or their stories would be boring. Saitama doesnt need a weakness because his whole story and universe is a comical/satirical one centered around that fact.

Again. It isnt a good comparison. They're different types of stories.

Kill la Kill

Silver Age Superman beats him

>Saitama shows up
>Superman reveals a new superpower- "Super Saitama-Killing death ray" and Saitama loses

he felt sorry for him and was holding back to make him feel better for wasting his life coming to earth.

what a nice man.

Its a weeaboo goes to Sup Forums to discuss his shit taste in anime episode.

Do faggots go to Sup Forums to discuss the big bang theory?

So if Rouge were able to get her hands on him she could take him, right?

How can you simultaneously look down on weebs while at the same time claiming someone has shit taste in anime, thus implying YOU have good taste in it, which would make you an even bigger weeb?

You'd need to give me some things you like, like genres. And even then I'd recommend manga usually.

HunterXHunter is pretty much top tier battle shounen. Higurashi is good for mystery/horror. Cowboy Bebop for scifi/western (I guess?). If you're willing to play Visual Novels, Danganronpa is great. Humor/Drama/Romance is Clannad.

Holy shit that guy btfo

I like badass intellectual anime like berserk, ghost in a shell, dead leaves, neotokyo, monster

check out the weeb.

>Monster
Hm, you could try reading his other works like pluto and 20th century boys.

A general "babby's first intellectual anime" is Code Geass and Death Note (only the first season is good).
Higurashi's mystery is interesting honestly, as is Danganronpa (another mystery/horror; dont' watch the anime. Play the game on PS Vita or Steam OR watch a youtube playthrough).

>Berserk
Maybe... Claymore? Some might recommend Attack on Titan.

*fewer

Boku no Hero Academia > One Punch Man (anime)

debate me, fuckers.

no.

>bland featureless character like every other anime

I wonder

not an argument

...

I dunno if any of those other than Monster really come close to qualifying as "badass intellectual anime". As another user mentioned you probably want to check out Naoki Urasawa's other work.

I'm really struggling to be honest to come up with anime I think are "intellectual" and that's not me trying to knock the genre it's just not a primary concern of most of the stories.

I mean there's stuff like Akagi and One-outs which I think make use of psychological knowledge and whatever but it's not exactly presented in an "intellectual" way it's just kinda x happened because y deduced z. Maybe legend of galatic heroes a little bit?

Honestly you've got me pretty stumped trying to find this stuff. At this point in the reply i've started to search google. I just feel saying stuff like Code Geass or Death Note are cop out answers, sure they are "smarter" than most stuff but I don't think they deal with themes with a sophisication that is close to how Monster does it for example. Maybe steins;gate deserves a mention? I didn't think it was very good though.

I dunno i've not watched that much anime and when I do i'm not looking for "intellectual" stuff because other genres do that so much better. I quite like the psychological ones but they are more just self-insert power trip enjoyment rather than actual sophisicated analysis of human thought or whatever.

Why does Sup Forums hate one punch man? Because it doesn't have waifus to jerk off and fawn over like the shitty moe shows Sup Forums praises?

It's Dragon Ball except Goku walks around like Beerus, bored at the lack of challenge from all comers.

still not an argument. One Punch Man anime is a shit adaptation.

He's bald

>Give me one reason why pic related isn't a better superhero than Superman or Batman

Because he has literally zero weaknesses. Even superman is weak to some things.

Terribly designed superhero.

SA Superman isn't even Silver Surfer/Void Sentry level lol level

he·ro /ˈhirō/ noun
noun: hero; plural noun: heroes; noun: hero sandwich; plural noun: hero sandwiches
1. a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.
"a war hero"
1a. the chief male character in a book, play, or movie, who is typically identified with good qualities, and with whom the reader is expected to sympathize.
1b.(in mythology and folklore) a person of superhuman qualities and often semidivine origin, in particular one of those whose exploits and dealings with the gods were the subject of ancient Greek myths and legends.
2. another term for submarine sandwich.

>Admired
Supes wins, Saitama is not respected
>Sympathetic protagonist with good qualities
Messy. Saitama is sympathized with, but is not identified with good qualities. Superman is known as a Boy Scout, and is mocked when he fails to live up to his ideals. Mixed bag.
See and >Mythology
Superman wins. Last son of Krypton > No air conditioning
Definition 1: Superman is a better hero

>A sandwich
You are what you eat, I have no idea who eats more sandwiches.
Definition 2: Jury is out.

>Just a contradiction!

Christ you are making me cringe, please stop, it's kids cartoons

>gantz

Kys

I like him,he is just not so imposing as both

you need to work on your reading compehrension

Don't know about heroes, but I watched Gunbuster recently and it has become one of my favorites. It's a perfect representation of balance in all elements of an anime show.

>Akagi
Ah, that's a good one too.

The problem is... when it comes to 'intellectual stuff'... you don't find it in the anime realm as often as you find it in the manga or VN or light novels.

Gantz is actually good, retard.

>Terribly designed superhero.
>literally the point

>Because he has literally zero weaknesses.
Yeah, in his universe. Superman's punch is his weakness.

Superman maybe. Not Batman.
Batman is a more interesting character and he has a better rogues gallery.

This was meant for

Give me one good reason why ANYONE in this thread is a better hero than Taimanin Asagi.

Boring, I've read the manga webcomic and seen the anime and the joke is only compounded by the nonsense that goes on. There's no dark morality or reality in OPM. It's a deconstruction, it's japs making fun of themselves with their goofy power levels and enemy of the week bullshit.

Plus anime is just fucking gay. Have you ever talked with people who take it seriously? They're efeminnate, do great impressions of intelligent people and there's like nothing in my personality that wishes to be around them. Just no personality "yes I'm smart I jerk off to NTR beast porn, play on childrens nintendo toys and watch my anime in 1080p in VLC"

shaddap. you compensate with intellectual vanity because you're a loser and nobody likes you

>Because he has literally zero weaknesses

One punch man need to punch his enemies to win. He could be easily defeated by some dude made out of magical clouds or water that can hit him hard but he can't touch

Pacing is abnormally slow, characters unrelatable and unrealistic and the humor is childish and out of place. Objectively bad

I've never swallowed 5 gallons of cum in one night gotta pace yaself

>There's no dark morality or reality in OPM
No shit, its a comedy/action satire of shonen anime protagonists and comic book superheros

Nah, the pacing is actually better than most animes and the action is really satisfying. You're watching the series with different expectations.

>Have you ever talked with people who take it seriously? They're efeminnate, do great impressions of intelligent people and there's like nothing in my personality that wishes to be around them.

I disagree with this. Anime nerds might be more effeminate than the average person but compared to people into most of the arts i'd say they are probably less effeminate on average.

I don't think i've ever seen an anime nerd do a great impression of an intelligent person either. There are only a few smart people I know who like anime and anime is only a small part of their interests. Everyone i've met who has based a large part of their interest or personality around anime has been low on the intelligence scale. Obviously this is just my ancedotal evidence but so is your statement.

Holy fucking projection

> There's no dark morality or reality in OPM

How is this bad

Characters take 10 minutes to react to a monster and spasm uncontrollably before doing anything. The action is really unbalanced

>animes
>s
Kek. It's fucking shit, do I need to remind you of the vampires?

>Boring, I've read the manga webcomic and seen the anime and the joke is only compounded by the nonsense that goes on. There's no dark morality or reality in OPM. It's a deconstruction, it's japs making fun of themselves with their goofy power levels and enemy of the week bullshit.

Somehow I feel like OPM almost goes over your head.

I also think calling it a deconstruction is misleading. I don't think it's interested in philosophically breaking the genre apart it's just having satirical fun with it.

That's because they're scared or they're unsure what to do. It's been referenced in the manga that people need to shoot quicker and not think of the consequences.
>It's fucking shit
Like your opinion? In a world of aliens and advanced technology you're going to complain about fucking vampires? Are you retarded?

>naming CB in the same sentence as Gantz

Top fucking pleb

No, I'm complaing about obviously dropped plotlines and that rushed garbage ending you shit eater

The manga already explained why the vampires existed. It would be stupid to drag them on. Also, the final arc isn't as bad as people make it out to be. It was actually pretty decent.

legend of galactic heroes

why didnt boros knock saitama literally anywhere else other than the moon and let him suffocate in space

Cowboy Bebop was pretty shit

Boros wanted a challenge

>le contrarian tv face :^)

>>more powerful than both
This is why.

The more powerful a superhero is, the more boring they are.

The most interesting superheroes have totally shitty powers but use them in interesting ways.

no he beat the evil sentient water with one punch

it's satirical. his weakness is ennui.
saitama definitely eats more sandwiches
there is reality in it, as literally all works do. plenty of stuff in there to examine if you really wanted to; social/hierarchical structures, ethics and values, existentialism. am i the pseud you're looking for.
his punch isn't his power, his absurd physical strength is. pic related, cloud dispersed
not sure if he can or can't, he just saw he was on the moon and found it natural to hold his breath. he was in space, he should've depressurized.
the least interesting part is his actual powers, he's just physically strong although to an extreme level. it's the dynamics of how that affects his behaviour and mental states and how that plays into his interactions with others.

Because he is bald

Ninja Slayer
Samurai Flamenco
Mob Psycho 100 (same author as OPM)

Saitama is still very weak compared to people from other animes.

Let me know when Saitama can survive black holes.

>it's the dynamics of how that affects his behaviour and mental states
but half the point of the franchise is how his powers don't actually affect him at all

Possibly, Saitamas power is literally being able to handle whatever is thrown at him

No, I don't think that's his power. He's just physically strong in that world.

Put Krillin in OPM universe and he would be One Poke Man

I got the impression the S class dudes were at least Freiza saga strong.

Frieza First Form was planet busing tier. His final(true) form is leagues ahead of that.

I can't imagine any S-Class heroes taking on Boros let alone fucking Frieza.

>One Punch Man is like Goku

He's the villain of the show?

Definitely Mob Psycho 100

Don't let the shitty title and opening fool you, there is actually a lot of quality hidden in it

where does it say that, it definitely affects him. if he was weaker he'd be having the time of his life. instead he knows he can beat anything thrown at him and he's detached from the events around him e.g stands there going through thoughts in his head and worrying about sales at the market during fights.
no, it's literally absurd physical prowess but it's unknown what the cap is.
naw dude, i'm thinking metal bat hitting home run death balls
