It's assuming the laces are white. If you balance it based on that (pic), it indeed appears pink, but there's probably some trickery going on here and the laces aren't white IRL

oh, i c, I wasn't getting that, these are from the pink/grey area. I think it may be as related to how a display is set up then tho differences in human eye/nervous sytem may still be a factor.

Yeah I sampled the """pink""" area before and was also surprised to actually get a very desaturated green, but I guess the brain wants to "define" the laces as white (despite them being green) and compare the rest to that, lacking any other natural fixed colour orientation points in the pic
So I sort of simulated what the brain does
