>heavily emphasize on young Peter's sense of justice by making him start a fight against a bunch of bullies who killed a small creature for no reason
>literally the first action of adult Peter is kicking and torturing a small creature for no reason
What did they mean by this? Is this what passes for "character development" at Marvel's?

It's almost as if he realized that to survive in the outer reaches of space you can't pretend to be some paragon of virtue.

Better character development than letting your dad die in a tornado

>using a small creature who caused no harm as a microphone is what you need to survive in space
Marveldrones, anyone

Man of Steel was a clusterfuck but the tornado death scene makes perfect sense in the context of the movie

No it doesn't. He could have easily just ran out there, grabbed the old man, then ran back and slipped away in the confusion of a gigantic fucking tornado.

>the mental state of the average Marvel fan

Did he kill it? No? Then stop whimpering, you're making a big deal out of nothing, kind of like your makeup Oscar actually.

>muh marvel drones
>muh complete lack of actual criticism

Literally the most insufferable posters on this board are Snyderfags lording their supposed "intellect" over the lesser thans

impyling that boot-rape is not a traumatic experience and victims should just stop whimpering.
you disgust me.

Would you let your father die for no good reason even though you had the power to save him? If so what the fuck is wrong with you?

>torturing a living creature just to be edgy for a couple minutes is perfectly fine
seek psychiatric help

>torturing
>a fucking lizard

ALIEN-LIZARD. maybe it belonged to a peaceful & friendly race YOU just didn't have the brains or patience to understand while YOU were invading their fucking homeplanet and society and kicking their elder in the ass? Fucking speciest scumlord.

Thanks for proving my point. I'll leave you doing your 4th grade homework now

Its almost as if he has a core of goodness inside of him that gets beaten out in the 20 years of living with space pirates and he acts like a cocky arrogant douche. Despite that he still nearly sacrifices himself for his green waifu, and in the fight over Xandu he prioritizes saving lives. His character doesn't grow or change alot in the first movie since a) its an ensemble piece and other characters do the most growing and b) there are more movies with him coming out.

And to be fair the first action of adult Pete was to turn on his cassette player. Don't misuse the word literally

he will probably torture bigger animals in the sequel t b h

GOTG is smarter than people give it credit for.

Anyone notice the multiple scenes in which technology is used to recreate an image of a fading memory?

If characters in the opening of the movie are different to their character in the prologue, thats called "character establishment"

Fuck you. You're why we have bad DC movies.

>>heavily emphasize on young Peter's sense of justice by making him start a fight against a bunch of bullies who killed a small creature for no reason

this happened?

Its briefly described. Its a parallel to captain america but unlike cap, Pete gets it beaten outta him by the ravagers.

Actually, that's a pretty brilliant way to quickly show that, in the time that the movie jumped over, the character grew up to be somewhat of an asshole, most likely as the result of growing up in a harsh environment. It conveys a lot of information without dropping a bunch of exposition on us, and it's information you get without even realizing it until it's pointed out to you. Pretty clever writing on their part. Probably one of the reasons why people loved that one so much.

You don't understand character development at all. His mother died of cancer and then he was kidnapped. The prologue doesn't serve to establish that Peter is a lover of all creatures big and small. It shows you where he came from and that at his core, there is some good. So you remain sympathetic to him yet see the contrast in him when he kicks these small characters. It's a juxtaposition. He's a grown man now who lives in a crazy world. He was raised by people who said he should be thankful he didn't eat them. It all makes sense.
