Language is used to convey information about the Independent Objective Reality we perceive.
Gendered language arose from the observation that there are two sexes in Humans and a need for distinction when describing them due to the inherent quantitative(and now qualitative as we have learned more) Biological differences between them.

Now imagine you're a postmodernist and believe there is no Reality, Truth, or Nature of Man.
What is language's purpose if not to describe Reality?

the reality is that 99.99999...9% of people are biologically male or female, and so there are only two sexes. "Gender" can describe whatever you want it to, but if you are aligning it with the concept of sexual orientation, then it's irrelevant when discussing the issue of biological sex.
