Why is basketball so.... lame?

Why is basketball so.... lame?

repetitive back and forth movement, not much focus on team play, scoring is too easy, too fast paced
what else is there?

have you ever heard the expression, lame as a nigger's baby?

Because nothing really happens and 3 pointers or blocks don't mean anything until the last 2 minutes of the game

>put da ball in da hoop
>*raucous applause*
>put it in da odda hoop
>*boom boom clap*
>*7 ft lanklet hops slightly to put da ball in da hoop*
>wow dis game is gud

Already solved. Rims should be smaller and placed slighlty higher and the backboard should disappear.

EVERY BODY CLAP YO HANDS

DE-FENCE
DE-FENCE
DE-FENCE

Except it isn't. It's much better than most other sports on the planet.

netball?

>run around the pitch
>kick the ball around
>lose possession
>miss a scoring chance
>dive on grass
>get called offside
>wow this game is gud

Because you've never played it or aren't good at it and can't appreciate the intricacies of the game and the difficulty

>until the last 2 minutes of the game
And this period is often awful given the amount of desperation fouling - a strategy with a low chance of success but apparently one good enough that it's done at every level. Literally a flaw in the game.

Speaking of which, there are more penalties in basketball than any sport on the planet. AT LEAST 50 per fouls game guaranteed. They are literally a part of the game fabric. I've seen football teams get one penalty the entire game and with teams that don't suck the combined number is quite low, but fouling is simply a part of basketball.

Awful parity. One player can make or break a team. Barry Bonds and Barry Sanders went ringless over their incredible careers, but having Lebron has been the difference between winning and not winning the Eastern Conference for the last seven years.

quite simple OP. now someone these will relate less to others but i still consider them negatives

>each player is worth 20% of the game so if a team has a good player or a few good players they will dominate
>regular season of 82 games is LITERALLY worthless because the best teams will make the playoffs and win in the playoffs anyway
>league promotes individual players rather than teams (even in big-time matchups, they promote PLAYER V PLAYER rather than team v team), so even as a supporter you feel very little loyalty to your team
>league thrives on the NBA media intentionally manufacturing made-up social media reality TV drama between teams and players to keep interest in the league when in reality all nba players are friends with each other so everything is fake
>so much scoring that each basket in a game is worthless and irrelevant (think the mlb regular season being so long that each game is basically worthless)
>that is, until the last two minutes of a 48 minute game when suddenly things get important, and then the constant unending fouling occurs
>game is so boring that they have to fill arena with music, sounds, games, dancing all game long
>referees have the most power of any sport, call by far the most fouls of any sport (and people say there are a lot of flags in football, kek), LITERALLY call the game differently in the playoffs and for superstars and ignore basic fouls but no one cares
>refs have so much power that they can and have rigged games easily
>a corrupt draft process that they had to put in because of just how parityless the game is and how much difference one player can make
>league intentionally advertises towards the snapchat ADHD millennial group

why does ANYONE watch the fucking NBA, its beyond me

I've only been to one NBA game (at Hawks getting BTFO by the Heat last year) and it was awful. Most of this was my experience as well.

How can something so big be so bad.

the nba needs to put something in place so players don't just intentionally foul at the end of every game

but of course they won't because it allows them to squeeze in extra commercials

Soccer is one extreme of terrible because nothing ever happens and a single penalty can decide the game
Basketball is the other extreme because something is always happening, which in effect means sadly translates into nothing is happening, and penalties are meaningless and nonsensically can be used as a strategy

too much scoring and too much flopping, the worst of both worlds

It's super fun to play, and it's fun to watch live (especially college/high school basketball where your team is part of your community). It's just boring af to watch multimillionaires run back and forth on tv just to put a ball in a hoop when the stakes don't mean anything until the last five minutes of the game and with not much else going on.

almost no teams in the nfl will win an owl if their star qb goes down

almost no teams in the mlb win if their ace pitcher goes down

>teams will be significantly worse without their best players!

genius insight but that wasn't his point retard

Basketball should have shots valuing only one point and free throws valuing one point either. Also some rule changes to adapt the points system like one FT instead of two for a foul.

>putting up 90 (ninety) points in a game is normal
>meme playing surface (fucking wood)
>all players are lanky goofballs
>invented by a Canadian for the YMCA

the IOC should permanently ban this game (wouldn't call it a sport tbf)

the cheerleaders are hot though

no it wasn't his point it was an argument to point out his point is fucking retard you fucking moron
