How serious is piracy in your country?

we iz still vikangz n shiet
but on the internet

you literally can search for anything in google and get it for free with no consequences

USA in 1990: let's deindustrialize and base our economy on easily-pirated media! woohoo, internet!
USA in 2017: o god wat have we done

...

>games go free-to-play with lootcrates and other cancerous microtransactions
thanks hohol

You'll get strange looks if you say you don't pirate.

Just finished downloading 60Gb worth of movies, games, anime and books.

You get fines of up to 1000€ if you get caught pirating something. And authorities try their best to catch you. A friend of mine literally got his door kicked down by the police because they thought he was in cahoots with the guys of kinox.to

We used to pirate everything, but we're becoming a cuck numale starbucks drinking society, so our wealthy people are starting to use Netflix and Steam and buying everything.

>piracy
>"serious"
>ever
t. Hollywood

Why are you still a fascist state, Germany?

fuck yeah

This october Dutch Filmworks got some German company to monitor people who use torrents and popcorntime.
They're planning to start sending settlement offers for around 1000 Euro after 6 weeks of monitoring, so I had to use a VPN to torrent for the first time in my life.

Everything that isn't owned by Dutch Filmworks can be downloaded here without any consequence at all.

Germans don't know the words fun and freedom

kek

Probably top 5 in the world regarding this

Well for one it's legal.
Downloading and possession any and all media for your own private purpose is fully legal.
Distributing is not, so in theory torrenting is a-okay as long as you don't seed.
I've heard stories about cease and desist warnings and people being fined for torrenting.
Never met one that did so it could be just fearmongering.
But all the reports have been about torrenting polish music and polish movies because let's be honest these will be the only people with enough legal power and enough interest to do it.
That's why I don't torrent polish music and polish movies lol.

There's a popular website called chomikuj.pl which more or less works as a public cloud storage. Uploading is free of charge, downloading costs money (you buy transfer). It's full to the fucking brim with copyrighted content and so far noone has been able to do about it because they have lobby in the polish government lmao.

It's serious but nobody does shit to confront it. Right owners are too stupid to create media only version of sream

even my parents in their mid 50s know how to torrent

Not entirely. Downloading is ok for movies, songs, ebooks and so on, but any computer program is off the limits since it has a specific law of its own in the penal code. The rest is fine as long as you don't distribute, but the courts consider even the tiniest, partial upload to already count, so you better make sure you've throttled it to absolutely nothing. Or better yet, use FTP instead of torrents.
Of course that's assuming you give a fuck. The only non-Polish media I know that used to be on a copyright troll watchlist is Metro 2033. There were cases of police raids on homes following letters a few years ago, but it seems the prosecutors finally grew a brain and now wiggle their way out of taking part in this horseshit. Also just encrypting the drive is enough to make sure you stay in the clear, though you should probably say goodbye to it as it'll spend the next few years lying in the evidence room.

Doesn't really matter, if the goods are not to be released here in the first place then what's the harm in doing it?

>tfw not vikang

Downloaded all Uncharted yesterday.

So true.

lmao
This is why I encrypted all of my hdd and use VPN for browsing internet + tor (tribler actually) for pirating

Doesn't Tribler make you an exit node? That sounds like asking for trouble.

they started to apply pressure on us because we were literally in the top 5 of piracy countries

Kek

You can choose whether you will be at exit node or not

My dad is unironically downloading BLACKED porn.

same for Bulgaria

That's good. Turks are blAcK

It's normal here. Suppliers too slow to fulfil rapid demands (especially with anime, as the notorious bootleg CDs will tell you). We've only got streaming services as recent as late 2015 IIRC. Hollywood stuff fares more better though, with our only satelite TV provider determined enough to give "same day broadcasts" and "on-the-go streaming" features.

Oh, there's also the problem of "getting a pirated copy when the legal way to see is messed with"...we have our doubts with our local Censorship Board's competence.
>movie rated 18
>ID checks while purchasing tickets
>scenes still cut from movie anyway
...though things seem to be better - Deadpool and Kingsman got away untouched for one.

I still wish that we have online stores to buy songs that don't necessarily require iTunes...that would be a godsend to the Droid folk here (iPhone's too $$$ compared to other alternatives in the local phone market).

You'll probably get shot if you say you don't pirate.

very bad

How is Internet in somalia
What games usually somalis play

Wow without proxy, how is looks life in the somalia?

>tfw I just downloaded a couple of torrents one of these days
