it's really not worth sliding down in the draft when they have a chance at a ton of a draft capital; If the colts leap them for the #2 spot, they will either take the top talent (which the giants could use sorely), or trade it down to a qb needy team for a shit ton of picks
The giants at #3 don't have nearly the same draft capital as they do at #2
ideally, they either take who they truly believe to be the best talent in the draft (Saquon barkley or the DE Chubb, etc), or they trade down to the first qb needy team and pick up multiple picks in this draft and next
winning this game reduces their chances of best competing next year
