Hi! I'm college student watching as many movies as possible while still trying to graduate. My faves are PTA, Scorsese and Tarantino. But since I'm movie hoe™ I'll basically watch anything. My reviews are usually under a sentence long so u won't feel like your wasting time reading them!

Account?

Change the QotT to "Why do you watch movies for directors or place emphasis on directors over editors, screenwriters, actors, producers, or cinematographers?"

A good movie is not just a director. Filmmaking is collaborative.

why does the op only ever quote mackhill posts?

not true

for example, dog star man is one of the greatest films ever made and it is solely the creation of one person

Someone asked for this, so here it is. 720p HD WEBRip of this late Ford western.

Not all ratings are created equal.

film =/= reality

film = reality

Does anyone have the official /film/-core pic? It basically just had the slightly more contrarian best flicks from acclaimed directors on it.
Zerkalo instead of Stalker, Barry Lyndon instead of 2001 etc

...

lol epic bro

Go back to Sup Forums

Posting honest sentiment anonymously and having it challenged is too terrifying a prospect. Better to just meme.

how long until Criterion announces their Straw Dogs and Stalker releases?

october

they just announced their Straw Dogs re-release; it's due out June 27

criterion.com/films/730-straw-dogs

What are you even afraid of?

>liking Criterion
>liking Stalker
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

awesome
since their art was being previewed at the same time I figured they'd get a release announcement together

here's to hoping Stalker comes in July

I can't put in the effort not to. Just don't care enough.

Stanley Brakhage > Stanley Kubrick

brakhage is a bad meme

this reply is a bad meme

it's not

one of my film professors studied under him and even though she pretended to like his work she couldn't defend it or expound upon it in any way

he's the film equivalent of throwing shit at a wall

bad meme friend memefriend

it is

your film professor was a pleb? that explains how you're a pleb

samefag

i think of Brakhage more as a painter than a filmmaker desu, since i thoroughly enjoy his painted and collage films (e.g., "Mothlight") but don't have much of a reaction to his "actual" films (excepting "The Act of Seeing With One's Own Eyes" which honestly helped me come to further understand my own mortality)

a film is still a film if there's paint on it

bitter liberals ITT

If short films take up more than 20% of your total films you should fuck off back to Sup Forums

...

should have inserted "The Dante Quartet" instead instead of his "painted and collage films (e,g, 'Mothlight')"

what's wrong with watching short films?

Don't worry about him I like commercials too user

how are short films like commercials?

i don't know. *how* are short films like commercials?

I was hoping you'd have an answer.

I guess there is nothing wrong with watching short films then.

Short films are as intellectually stimulating as commercials
