Guys where the hell did you find jobs...

guys where the hell did you find jobs? i know this is pathetic to be asking on Sup Forums how to become employed but it was either make a pathetic thread about something non-productive or make this one, so please at least try and not judge me. I would appreciate it.

Im 29, have 3 years of a 4 year degree under my belt from 6 years ago, so im essentially just working with a high school degree. I'm looking for a job that pays at least 12 an hour, but I'll take less if it means I don't have to interact with too many people. Hell who am I kidding I'll take minimum wage if it means I dont have to talk to many people.

Any of you guys out there job gurus? Where should I start? God I'm just preparing to be fucking verbally assaulted right about now, this was probably a bad idea.

I got a summerfag job at Chick-Fil A.

>Im 29, have 3 years of a 4 year degree

Why didn't you just fucking finish you lazy parent-money wasting mofo

got a job by going to the career fair at my college, although I graduated.

man you know alot about me dont you? Actually I had a scholarship which I was lucky enough to obtain, and on my third year my mother was in a car accident and became paralyzed on her entire left side of body, with no one to take care of her and insurance not covering a 24/7 care facility I was forced to drop out and take care of her. asshole.

>guys where the hell did you find jobs?
i joined the military

its ok

didn't work for 4 years recently got a pretty decent job, its more about who you know than what you know ask friends or family see whats going on around you and try to get some help people that care about you will normally go out of their way to help you if you're trying to work.

yea i really wish I did this when I was 18, i sometimes kick myself for living in the most powerful country on earth and not joining the most powerful military on earth when I was in my prime. ah well no good having regrets.

unfortunately nepotism is not on my side. so thats not a valid path for me to go down.

Ever thought about freelance?

Enjoy ur AIDS faggot

Go to a temp agency. Enjoy call center career the rest of your life. Or you could just finish your degree , though it won't make much difference.

you don't have anyone in your life that could help you?

thats a very broad um, field. what sort of freelance are you referring to?

epic insult, you got me haha.. aids. classic.

im on my own here, im an almost 30 year old white male with no friends but my mom who I FINALLY got her signed up for decent insurance so she can be cared for while I look for employment.

I noticed what you DID NOT do was list any skills or abilities you could do that are worth paying money for.

On the one hand, you're smart enough to operate a computer and use complete sentences. On the other, you're too dumb to even use the part of Sup Forums dedicated to commerce.

tl/dr. Figure out what you can do that people are willing to pay for. Find people willing to pay for that shit. Start sucking like Hillary will be back to the oval office in 90 seconds.

Just join the National Guard, youll come back with thousands of dollars and a part time job and work with a bunch of people working in your area that can tell you if their primary job is hiring and they'll put in a good word for you

They'll also pay for more schooling. Good thing about the Guard is its normal to have enlisted with degrees which makes the time required to join very small compared to an officer application

Craigslist for a comfy office advertising job. Everyone is pretty Sup Forums there too. You mad OP?

>PROTIP: don't be autistic and you can too

do you have any big hospitals around you? you could get a patient transportation job or environmental services

Finding jobs is not like finding a gem mine you can just hit dumbly with a pickaxe and make money.

(Unless you're working as a miner but that's not the point.)

Finding a job you need to learn some skill so you're actually useful to other people.

Have you ever considering being useful in your life? Learn a skill that helps someone other than yourself?

Once you're good at something, you'll know where to find a job. In fact, when you're good at ANYTHING, once you cared to improve a skill to the point you can benefit someone else, job offers will rain on you... because everyone else is like you right now... looking for jobs under rocks, instead learning a skill.

/biz/ movesn at 1 post per hour, if that is what you are referring to.

My skills are in the web development field. I know my way around wordpress and all of the adobe products pretty much. good with computer hardware as well. Thanks for the help even though it was a bit rudely delivered nonetheless.

last time i went to a craigslist job interview they said it was in "advertising" when i showed up to interview they wanted me to assault people pumping gas and spray tire cleaner on their tires and try to sell them tire cleaner. fuck craigslist.

lol, it's not even a sales job. I actually implement the work. I know what you mean though, I did "outsourced marketing" for a month after college and it was the worst shit ever.

You could freelance any skills that you have. I lost my job due to downsizing about a year or so ago, so I made a list of stuff I'm good at (for me it writing and researching) and then I started doing that stuff freelance. I'll never be a millionaire, but my bills are paid.

where do you advertise your skills? what kind of jobs do you get?

>where the hell did you find jobs?
A temp agency type thing. Once the time was up they asked if I was going to stay and I said yes. Been a year now. Every once in a while I almost miss the NEET life, but then I remember how depressing it was being a worthless leech.
I'm actually a lot happier now.

Cnc machining. I work 3rd shift, make 21/hour and talk to people maybe 10 mins in an 8 hour shift when my boss walks past to ask me how the night went. Get to spend about 3 hours a night funposting on Sup Forums while my machine runs.

I'll never be replaced by automation, my job is running the automation

1. Learn web development with Elixir/Phoenix and Ruby/Rails.
2. Create Upwork Profile
3. Build some sample projects.
4. Apply to every job you're remotely qualified to.
5. ???
6. PROFIT!

>thats a very broad um, field. what sort of freelance are you referring to?

Are you asking OTHER people what you're good at?

Learn marketing, become a marketing manager.

Web development. Teach math to kids. Learn graphic design. Learn programming. Know a 2nd language? Translate. Photography. Become an interior designed.

I have no idea what are your potentials. We are not your mom and dad to give you these talks.

I started off applying for gigs on craigslist and also cold calling/emailing local businesses...it was rough and I was broke for awhile, but I made applying for gigs a full time job. Eventually I started to get more and more work and I built up a pretty nice portfolio. Now most of my work comes in by referral.

Sounds like the higher power wants you to become a neet

I've never got a job "fairly"

I've always known someone who knows someone. Applying for jobs is for suckers.

Nigga.

Create a profile on upwork. Learn web devel with Ruby/Rails & Elixir/Phoenix. Create sample projects, apply to every job you're remotely qualified on Upwork

This is really good advice. Also, you get Tricare Select which, for my family of 5, costs $190 a month and it's top notch. I was paying nearly $500 a month with Blue Cross Blue Shield and it had a sky high deductible

businesses only need one web developer and chances are they've got one that is better than you. do clerical/billing work for a local hospital. opens all kinds of doors if you can properly bill government services (medicare/medicaid/champ va/etc). commercial billing less so, but still gives you a shot.

>Or you could just finish your degree , though it won't make much difference.

How do you even know he's going to get a degree in studies? Maybe he's different.

I know this feel. I dropped out my second semester when I had a pell grant. My mother was also in a wreck and she was paralyzed from the waist down. I went into college at 17. About to be 25 and just moved away from my mother.

That's the problem with most folks, they have no value to the public.

Open your mind to opportunity and find things you can do that bring value--things people will pay for.

My goofy cousin loves Nascar and noticed how they peel layers of film to clean the windshield. He applied that to med equipment and is a multi millionaire. Did I mention he was a nascar-loving simpleton?

I left college because I programmed babby's first database front end, and consulted with insurance agencies to make the front end friendly to their work flow and I undercut my competition because they were artificially expensive.

Boom, my work became valuable to small agencies who can't pay 10k for insurance software.

All about being valuable.

how did you get the skills for that?

im 29 i dont think the national guard will take me, i also have a couple DUIs

watch a lot of howto info for frontend development here youtube.com/user/DevTipsForDesigners

I just came out of an employment shit storm...started working pre-load at UPS...pay starts at 13/hour get badass benefits after a year and OT at 20 hours (preload only works 15-20 hours) Just last week I picked up nights too (still only 3-4 hour shifts) The Union blows monkey dick (nothing but dindus complain' they have to work n sheeeit) but beats the hell out of a 9-5 still not making as much as I was but its awesome having a job again. Try UPS! People are coming and going all the time.

These are correct answers. Some factory work all force you to talk to people (if you're on a line and your coworkers won't leave you alone), but often times you get to work on a machine alone where it's too loud to even hear each other anyways. Temp pay is shit, but they'll find you a job quick and it's still better than minimum wage. After a year or so, if you did well, you might be asked to get hired by the factory itself and that shit pays well. Beat advice from there is just work hard so your supervisor loves you. They usually let temps go home early if there isn't enough work, but I consistently busted my ass to get way over quota, so my supervisor would find me easy stuff to do to keep me getting paid. Don't skimp on protective gear. Better to lose some time/money now than your eyesight, hearing, or a finger later. Make friends. I get it's hard learning to socialize again, but put yourself in situations with people and it will happen naturally. Good luck, familia.

t. Many friends and family do factory work and I did temp work during summers in my late teens.

>it was a bit rudely delivered nonetheless

Too thin skinned. I wouldn't hire you on that alone. You're unemployed, you can't afford that much dignity.

Any previous work experience at all? What are you interested in mainly? What would your dream job be if you could choose anything?

>assumes because educated parents pay for it
What are you 15? KYS

Are you me? I found a press house. Showed them I'm a jack of all trades. Run the production office now but started @ 12.50. walk user. Go places walk in the door and and questions. Be direct. Sell yourself.
And don't bitch.

Nobody likes a bitch.

11 years at UPS. It's awful. Get out ASAP.

Do you have a Web Development portfolio?

I get asked all the time if I can recommend Web designers and well...you need a portfolio.

Im sure you dont. Look into why you don't. Ask yourself hard questions

Just started my 2nd year...it IS fucking AWFUL. Still not as bad as no job.

I got hired to drive. I drove once. There are literally 30 people in front of me.

After a while those dindus you mentioned who never work and nothing ever happening to them will destroy the fuck out of your work ethic. The people who do work are taken advantage of and those who don't just slide along.

/summer/

ok tough guy

Where do you live op?

Oh I know it. They have been buying me shit everyday (biscuits, ciggs ect) because I bust my ass with maybe 1 misload a month.

ohio

What degree is it? I usually visit those places where startups pitch to investors and share tips with other startups, I don't know of any in America but I'm sure there's plenty. Kinda like Shark Tank but more of a community thing. Those startups are usually looking for people and they know other startups as well so if they're not looking for someone like you, there's heaps of other options. These people don't usually advertise jobs online, gotta speak to them directly. And since they're young ass teens usually, you could convince them with your pity story and 3/4 college education.

Queer.

certainly not in France.

I applied for a part-time package handler job just recently. There were almost ten of us being interviewed for a small facility. The woman interviewing us that that it'd take several years to actually make it to a driving position and once you hit that you're not going anywhere. She also said that it's very hard on your body and you will go home exhausted almost every day for a long time.

Union takes $125 out of your paycheck in increments during the first few weeks then $30 a month afterward. Apparently you absolutely DO NOT want to be a PT supervisor because it's a shit job and a dead-end in the company.

Don't bring your cellphone to the interview.

Become a package handler at UPS. Starts at like $10/hour. After a year you get the best benefits I've ever seen. I've never paid more than $10 at a doctor. Yearly raises of at least $0.50. After 5-10 years you can become a delivery driver and make $80k+. Drive semi trucks after that and make over $100k.

Look for USPS jobs - they start at 15$ - 19$ an hour with benefits. I'll tell you the process here but you can look it up to, there's a lot of information out there.

You apply on their website, then you get invited to an online test - if you have any clue at all what employers want to here you'll pass this. Then you get invited to a testing center where you take a low level autist test dealing with addresses and some memory. You'll probably do well on this, then you get an invite to a drug test / online background check - all easy. Wait a couple months and you get an interview where you tell them you can do the job - really easy.

These steps in themselves were weeding out process for applicants, if you go through all of these steps then they know you want the job.

An example of a PSE job would be 6 days a week overseeing a mail sorting machine - but that's a lot of hours and I think it comes out to ~47k with benefits which isn't bad

Your union dues are 2 times your hourly rate plus a dollar monthly. You will never make it from a package handler to a driver position, like I said I've been doing the shit for 11 years. You will destroy your body. The work will destroy your work ethic and the lazy fuckers who are never punished with make you a bitter asshole. Find another job if you can.

unfortunately I bought a dimebag of weed when I was 19 and that pretty much fucked me out of any jobs involving mail

My first thought when I read PSE was Porn Star Experience.

Learn to code if you're smart enough.

I would heed your advice but I don't really have a lot of options. I've been trying to find a job for two months and have been tossing applications around like confetti and the only interview I've gotten so far is at UPS, and that's just because they schedule it immediately after the application is complete.

At this point I'm desperate enough to take anything.

Then by all means take it, but I cannot stress enough to keep looking. Don't stagnate. Don't be a fucking loser like me. Keep looking.

Kek. You're kidding right? My company will pay you $10.50/hr starting and we're always understaffed. Do you have any landscaping of construction experience? Roofing jobs pay around $18/hr here, but you'll likely want to get certified. I worked as a night baker for $12/hr starting during summers which is another severely understaffed position. Jobs are everywhere. People are just idiots.

I work at a bookstore at the moment.
It's okay. Certainly not a career. Thinking about looking into police academies.

You know that you need some self critique to dig yourself out of your failure of a life, but you confuse it with self pity and get nowhere. You should print this thread and read again, noticing how unlikable you are.

You're trying to push ppl away and your method is being an insufferable faggot.

if you have a skillset, craigslist

granted i mostly work with "startups" but its where i got my first few actual development jobs (fuck, grooveshark even hired me off craigslist) and now i just coast on people i know who need work.

get a skillset AND MAKE CONNECTIONS

IF YOU DRINK, DRINK AT THE FANCY BARS

BULLSHIT and MEET PEOPLE

please dont ask about grooveshark, it was a shitty company run by shitty people who couldnt run a business selling shitting streets in india.

You can drive for UBER.

Their only requirements are: owning a car 2001 or newer, owning insurance on the car, owning a smartphone, and passing a background check.

Other than that, they wont ask any questions about what you have been doing over the past 6 years.

It may not be a dream job, but you can work when you want to work, and you can work while you travel to places. So if you want to go camping in Colorado for a week, bring a tent and your car, and when your not roasting marshmellows, drive some people around.

If there aren't a ton of requests in the area you are working, then listen to podcasts/audiobooks/etc. in your downtime.

Its honestly not a bad job, particularly given your situation. Don't listen to anti-uber shills on reddit btw. And maybe check out this guy's youtube channel: youtube.com/watch?v=qMF4rMnJgrs

As someone who is part of the hiring process (but not a manager or anything)...

Monkey jobs only need monkey skills. If you have a good personality, you should be fine. You seem erratic and thin-skinned though, which might come across in interviews

yea and youre the only one here acting like a fucking tough guy. im not buying it. i may be unemployed but you seem like a manlet faggot.

You could try software qa. It's all point and click for some jobs

would love to do this, unfortunately my car is 25 years old and breaks every other week.

My hack:
1.pay extra to work out at the most expensive gym in town.
2.bro it out with some middle aged guys
3.job

I'm from a relatively small ethnic slav (hohol) community in Toronto and I know everyone in it. My familly are a big fucking deal in the entire community since we are the largest business owners for all of the hohol/Polish/Russian people in the area. Since I'm so fucking well connected I can get any job just by asking. I even got into law school because I received stellar recommendation letters from lawyers doctors and professors who I haven't ever even ment

Would you take a sign spinning job?

I've worked at a Food Lion, A small time internet buying and shipping company, construction assistant (mix concrete then pour it, make mortar and set cinder blocks on it, cut and nail boards and siding) and now I invest in stocks.

Pick some shitty hard job if you are not a total autist and you are young still. It will really give you some much needed perspective on how the world works.

IF you are way in to research, get into Banking, Finance, Stock Investing/Trading.

pics or you're a shiposting korean in canada

Are your parents sick and tired of your NEET lifestyle? Maybe they will chip in to buy something better.

Used cars newer than 2001 aren't all expensive. Just find one thats clean and gets reasonable fuel efficiency. Also, make sure 2001 is the cutoff in your area.

And you could use your web development experience for referral marketing, which is also a way to make money with UBER. I'm not going to give you my referral code, but you can find plenty are reddit/r/lyft. Find somebody that looks white and use their code if you sign up, it will earn you and them an extra $200 or so when you complete 40 rides.

Did you have excellent grades?

Move out of the cities. Make sure that you have to work hard for physical necessities.

Voila. You're now permanently happy and satisfied with your life

...

I have a 3.4 GPA

this

If you're any good at writing you should look into copywriting or ghostwriting. I started writing essays for rich kids in high school and continued through college, they would pay me ridiculous amounts like 300 or 400 dollars for a 1,200 word essay. Eventually I made my own website which had so many requests from different states and shit that I had to expand and get additional writers.

I closed it down once I got a job as a copywriter at a marketing firm. I make $19 an hour just typing press releases and advertisements. It's a full time job but I finish my duties literally in 2 hours and bullshit the rest of my 9 hour day on the computer. The best part is that you don't even have to talk to that many people, I work with 3 other individuals and they're all autists who communicate through emails and memos instead of fucking talking to me across the room.

>tfw have BSc Microbiology
>work in a pub for minimum wage

it wasn't meant to be like this

>300-400$ essays

Seriously?

>rich kids

Also make sure that you use all of your mental faculties in the acquisition of physical necessities. Don't use technology

THE TRUTH COMES OUT

I'm looking for a job too. I want to move out as soon as possible but I can't find anything that I can do. There's no entry-level positions available near me.

I tried looking online for jobs I could do from the home like customer support but most seemed way too shitty to even be considered like $10/hr for a full time 10 hour a day 5 days a week work schedule or something that required you to invest money into first which would be idiotic for a starter job on $0 budget.

I can type over 120 WPM casually with zero error and I know how to use computers as well as anyone else here. Those are my only two real skills.

Are you hiring immigrants ?

I have an accredited STEM degree from a tier one university in the USA. It has meant nothing to employers.

Try factories or manufacturing. My place pays nigs and illegals 11 an hour to start. Its not a career but not even my third year and up to 17 an hour. Thats not bad for a 9th grade dropout.

>tfw the Dems will try to push for $15 minimum wage and everyone wanting to work in factories and other small industrial or civil jobs will get replaced by illegals on "contract" that will be paid 6 bucks an hour.

Not too bad if it's a non stem major

hah, yea went through a pretty bad stretch of depression, not gonna lie. i drank alot, did some drugs. (this was 10 years ago when I was 18/19 years old) a dumb kid basically. I didnt party with people or act like an idiot. I had a couple family members die in an accident all at once and I didnt know how to cope. Not making excuses it is what it is.

Anyway its on my record for good and I have to deal with it.

>France
>jobs

Well I don't, just like one third of the people here.

Dead serious. 90% of my clients were qt girls, too - seems like they don't have the time to do their coursework when they're too busy getting makeup on and going clubbing.

I would get like 5-6 essays a week, but it wasn't constant - most teachers and professors assign essays at specific times in the semester, like the first couple weeks, halfway through and toward the end. End-of-semester essays were extremely profitable, I made almost $5,000 in the span of a couple days.
