Catches

What are they? How do we know when they occur? How do we know when they don't?

Discuss

What a reddit discussion topic. Fuck off.

I've only watched 7 NFL games in my life, but from what I understand, the ball can't touch the floor before the player is in full control (the ball isn't moving anymore at any direction that isn't one given by the player)

Don't be a brainlet, and follow the flowchart.

Please circle the groud in OPs pic so I know what this chart is referring to

It's not a catch if it occurs against the patriots

if a player stops its flight path and it doesn't hit the ground then it's a catch. doesn't fuckin matter if it moves around a bit, the ball is only in that position because of player intervention.

The ball in the smith catch touched the ground while he was going to the ground when it tipped up, these pictures stopped too soon, he wasn't done going to the ground in the Smith catch images shown.

Checked triple double

Question confirmed legit

simple, do they complete a football action?

>this

Both are incomplete passes. I don't think Peterman was going to make a difference given another chance anyways. Steelers had 2 more chances and blew it.

Would you consider being an active participant in a professional football match a "football action"

how active?

%100

If a patriots receiver made contact with the ball it's a reception/interception

This.

it's not a catch if the player doesn't catch it

Unless that player is a Patriot and vice Versace

that wasnt a catch

the refs have been shit
