Why is it called the "United" States when Civil War 2 is a couple of Dindus deaths away

If we could, it would be called otterball. It's catchier.

cringe

The name does not come from the fact that you kick a ball with your feet. It comes from the fact that it is a game played on foot as opposed to on horseback. All of these foot sports were referred to as "football" around their time of origin. Rugby football and association football (soccer) both get their name from this. The fact the rugby was also referred to as football is where american football picked up the name.

> American football and association football may not resemble each other much today, but they both originated from the sport of “football,” a somewhat disorganized game that involved men running around a field with a ball. Preferences for style of play splintered the sport into rugby, association football, and American football.

GERMANY FOR THE LAST TIME

kys my dude. That shit was lame.

The ball is a foot wide

'Great' actually refers to the Island of Britain, as in the country spans the entire breadth of it. Its a similar concept to the total metropolitan area of a city being referred to as 'Greater ______'. The full name of the country is actually the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, making it clear that the term refers to the landmass itself.

Hope this helps!
