Post the best Criterion Collection film

Post the best Criterion Collection film

That's a great choice but it's not Salo :^D

...

My pick if I want to impress people: Revanche

My pick if I'm being real: The Big Chill

this is a stupid thread

may as well ask "post the best film from this arbitrary list of some of the most acclaimed films of all-time"

>we need a vaguely eastern-european, weird-looking guy to play a Russ-

>I've already got Peter Stormare on the line, sir. Elya Baskin said no.

>GREAT! FUND IT!

>across the board room: FUND IT!

>secretary pops her head in: FUND IT! :D

>the desk phone panel blares, an old Jewish voice that everyone recognizes proudly heaves: "FUND IT!"

Boyhood

That's not Paul Blart: Mall Cop.

You are a dumb person. The OP's prompt can also be validly interpreted as "which kino did Criterion do the best job of porting to their own home video release version."

>implying that's what OP meant
highly improbable, and if he did, he would have likely explicitly stated it such

Is Criterion still a thing? I guess there will always be "serious film fans" in their 20s with expendable income. I'm glad I finally stopped buying this garbage.

...

Kill yourself nerd

in your opinion, what is the best movie ever made?

Stopped buying media a long time ago, still enjoy pirating Criterion films

...

...

...

it's not the movies themselves, it's the retarded upcharge to make you feel like you're buying art

>Tangerine Dream score
Instantly bumps it up 2 points on the kinometer

any good extras on this?

quit teasing

but yeah, pls post more fakes

They have sales every couple months so it's really not that expensive. And it costs them a lot to restore them, they put more effort into it then regular dvd companies do.

feature length commentary by Jonh Leguizamo in-character as Pestario "Pest" Vargas

it's the GOAT extra feature

Pic related unironically

...

Leguizamo was legitimately brilliant in this movie

...

...

...

Criterion from another timeline.

...

...

...

Lol

...

...

...

...

this is legitimately a great fucking cover

...

Criterion did have it made

...

...

...

Favorite movie that's also on Criterion Collection is Ikiru, but Hausu is my favorite overall DVD because of the presentation and extras.

...

...

...

>tfw Thora Birch intentionally sabotaged her career because she hates acting

>mfw it's real

Everyone asked her to show her tits and tell stories about her pornstar mom, what would you have done?

...

...

...

Can't wait for this to come out.

...

Needs a Man running on the Blade.

this one's great

You have to give them points for technical quality tho. They do first class restorations from start to finish. Some companies do a first class job for the first 15 minutes and then start to save money. Still overpriced, so I now only buy Criterium on Ebay as a bottom-feeder.

...

I like Trollflojten and the Mikado.

this fucking movie man

>"Post the best Criterion Collection film"
>no foreplay
>no teasing
>just posts the best Criterion Collection from the outset

OP, you need to build up more tension, more anticipation. You can't just money-shot all over the place.

...

they're not out yet but Tree of Life and Stalker

...

Wow that's a really good choice but I'd probably pick The Big Chill.

...

...

...

...

Badlands, Thin Red Line or Punch Drunk Love would be my favorite.

...

When I was a kid, I knew what the Exorcist was but never saw it. I only knew that it was supposedly the scariest movie, yadda yadda yadda. One day I was flicking around trying to find something to watch and landed on this thinking it was The Exorcist. I just sat there for 15 minutes watching it having no idea what the fuck was going on until I turned it off. Thanks for reminding me.

Best film

Criterion has so much garbage I can't even tell which of these are bait and which are real.

Terry Zwigof is an underappreciated director

kek

...

House, Repo Man, and Videodrome are the only Criterion BDs I own, so those.

...

I seriously don't even know which is real and which is memeing anymore

...

House is definitely one of their better releases. Interesting commentary and extras, too. Now if they could only release the sequels...

They made the cover that way so nobody would ever want to buy it.

...

...

...

Kek'd heartily.
