British comedy power rankings

1. The Thick Of It
2. Brass Eye
3. Peep Show
4. The Office
5. Monty Python

----------POWER GAP----------

9000. Never Mind The Buzzcocks
9001. Mr Bean

Replace Monty Python with I'm Alan Partridge and add (post-Lamar) to the Never Mind the Buzzcocks and we have a deal.

>man slips on banana
>OH BUGGERY
>laugh track plays for 7 minutes
BritishHumour.webm

Honestly, Mr Bean is great. You go anywhere in the world, and people will have heard of Mr Bean. They love him, it's truly universal humour

Really shit tier British comedy is something like Mrs Brown's Boys, or anything involving Lee Mack

>tfw your parents love Not Going Out

Is Thick of it that good? Never watched it but Chris Morris stuff and Father Ted are my favourite comedies

youtu.be/Cz2-ukrd2VQ

It's good because it's just far too accurate.
youtube.com/watch?v=Ie834DTrUNI

I honestly think this is one of the best comedy shows currently airing on British television.
It not only provides laughter but reflects the current socio-cultural aspects of today's society perfectly. Combine that with a dose of physical comedy and family values and morals and you have a sure fire recipe for success.

Brass eye
The day to day
I'm alan partridge
The Office
Jam
Armando iannucci show

No order. There it is.

Pinnacle of humour in 1997 maybe. Modern British comedy is dogshit.

reddit pls

>9001. Mr Bean
>Only Fools and Horses missing
fucking hell what shit taste

>British """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""humour"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

I can't wait until Trump and Putin decide to nuke your Muslim containment island.

There has only been one British show which has been able to even come close to the best of American shows, and that is Darkplace.

Aah, classic.

you forgot
it crowd
black books
spaced
are you being served
keeping up appearances

yeah it's pretty excellent

Consider the following
A bit of fry and Laurie
The fast show
Two pints of lager
Mind your language

Thanks butthurt burger

The Inbetweeners is cringe kino

I don't think anything has captured that feeling half as well as they did

O's

When's it coming out?

>two pints of lager

Is it a dolphin in a bathtub?

THE DAILY MAYULL

youtube.com/watch?v=hh4yp07UKEg

t. "I've never seen an episode of Peep Show"

Inbetweeners is Peep Show lite.

What seems to be the problem blud?
Two pints was good until Jonny was killed

Leslie Nielsen was funnier than any British person who has ever lived, I don't understand what you're getting at. Are there not enough men in dresses farting for you?

Inbetweeners is much more realistic and relateable (not counting the movies), Peep Show is more of a farce. They're both top tier shows though.

>hating on Sheridan Smith's Tits: The Show

English actually Nice taste lmao

get t'fuck Mohammed.

No green wing or shooting stars

>british """"""""""humour""""""""""

it's a really not good show, but she sure gave me a thing for chav slags for a few years.

Carpet Remnant World.

It didn't even sell carpets; it sold remnants of carpets.

>le no jokes man
Stewart Lee is the most unfunny "comedian" working and a self-righteous bellend.

I actually really enjoyed Him & Her

He's like Ian Huntley to me.

As I wrong though?
CK is one of the highest rated comedies currently airing

>Brass Eye is the pinnacle of humour.

Brass Eye is outdated cringe humour. The show had an important satirical role in 1997 but it was never funny.

Ideal would be closer to the pinnacle but it never gets mentioned.

>Monty Python

I'm convinced only Americans like this show. The humour is nothing but 'LOL RANDUM XDDDD' memes to repeat to your autistic friends and slapstick.

Not Going Out is top-tier word based comedy though. On a jokes per minute ratio it really is an impressive show especially considering how long its been on now.

>Brass Eye was never funny
Jesus fucking Christ user.
15 Storeys High > Ideal by the way famalam.

DUDE weed lmao

>Brass Eye is outdated cringe humour. The show had an important satirical role in 1997 but it was never funny.
>it was never funny
>Not Going Out is top-tier

jesus christ how retarded can one person be

Comedies named in this thread made after 2010:

>SHE WORKS IN A LESBIAN BOOK SHOP LOL xD

You have atrocious taste

> I sometimes come here and find myself staring for what seems like ages. On one occasion, I thought at least an hour had passed. When I look down at my watch, it had only been 45 minutes. I like to come here sometimes and stand one side of the fence, and look at all those sheep on the other side of the fence. And I like to imagine each one of them as various people who wronged me in the past. Anne Robinson there grazing by that tree. That one over there, Andrew Marr. The Dimbleby brothers. They’re just various builders.

At what age did you realise Partridge was the good guy all along?

Sean Lock is trash and 15 Storeys High is nothing like Ideal unless you count them both being set in a run-down flat.

Why has there been no good britcom since The Inbetweeners?

Are they just making lame panel shows now?

> tfw Inbetweeners is so real it hurts
> tfw reaching mid 20s and Peep Show is so real it hurts

They're not even that exaggerated.

>Americans find THIS funny.

A paedophile disguised as a house isn't funny its just daft. There is an important difference.

If you don't think rick and morty are funny then you have no sense of humour.

>disguised as a house

The Mitchell and Web look is brilliant if you're a fan of silly sketches.

But
>She works in a lesbian bookshop
>that doesn't make her gay
>I've heard she doesn't fancy you
>she's gay
>2 minutes of canned laughter
is funny to you? and the person disguised as a school in the midst of paedogeddon in England is funny

Post Mitchell and Webb Look Kino.

I'm generally not a fan of sketch shows but started watching this on netflix a while ago and pleasently surprised by it.
