calvary, the passion, the mission, silence, there's plenty of good stuff

jesus of nazareth is the best out of all of them though: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_of_Nazareth_(miniseries)

also check out the vatican's official film list, great stuff there

christus resurrexit brother

>Passion of the Christ
>Life of Brian
>Jesus of Nazareth
are pretty kino, also some good tv shows with """christian""" themes
>The Bible
>The Young Pope
>The Borgias

You should just read the Bible (KJV)

Jacob's Ladder

I like NSRV better. Find KJV really difficult to understand.

Calvary
Life of Brian

Equal to or better than the best Disney has to offer.

Matrix

Silence. Very kino

Don't see how it's a Christian movie.

not Silence that's for sure

the Mission shows the true bravery of the Jesuits. Not the hand wringing, jew pleasing, blasphemers in Silence

Yes but did you know that NEO is an anagram for ONE?????

how'd you manage that?

really reaching on this one

The Mission is a great companion piece to Silence. One shows how to do it and the other shows how not to do it.

this was clearly aimed at jewish children user

Black Robe

The Leftovers

the most obvious reference is to gnosticism, but that's kind of shallow in comparison.

What does Sup Forums think of the Vatican's film recommendations?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vatican's_list_of_films

>art category
>Nosferatu (1922)
>2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
pretty patrician yet accesible

The Cross and the Switchblade

based Barron

pure kino

all of it

>no Orthodox Christian on Muslim movie
Why? Seems like a missed opportunity.

Lived with a gay Aussie priest for a few years and can say The Vicar of Dibley and Rev for TV shows are great for capturing the life.

Ben Hur (25 and 59 versions)
Les Miserables
Babette's Feast
The Gospel According to St. Matthew

Kingdom of Heaven?

>no passion of the christ

Listen to me, the movie "The Shack" is in theaters now and I am telling you it will change your life.

When it was done playing I called my mom and cried for about an hour and that's not even counting how many times I cried in the theater. Changed me completely, check it out brother!!

List was made before The Passion.

I guess this would be a good place to ask.

Is there a film that somehow reinterprets Christianity or Catholicism? That stirs away from the mainstream dogma of it?

What does this even mean?

About Schmidt

I hear it's liberal cuck shit and God is a woman.

Was this before or after you strangled your dog to death and fucked it?

I don't want something that shows Jesus life, or stuff about the church or the Vatican.

I want something that messes with the root ideas of Catholicism or Christianity. That reinterprets its teachings from a different perspective. That explores its mythology.

I'm thinking something more psychedelic, but anything could do.

>Find KJV really difficult to understand.
How? Is it because they use thus, thy, and thine?

what about the greatest story never told?

What Dreams May Come?

It kinda blows btw

>i want christianity without any christ in it

I genuinely don't know what to tell you

The Last Temptation of Christ.
Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion

Maybe because it has 500 year old language?

What Dreams May Come is fucking great, what are you on about?

Any Christian who enjoy the shack is a horrible person and not a true christian.

Protestant flicks am I right

It was a messy weird experience. Like taking an explosive shit and then realizing you are fucking starving. I didn't know how to interpret it

The fact that it's dividing makes it interesting. I'll check it out.

Will check TLTOC, thanks user. The End Of Evangelion does hit that kind of spot, but I want something more accurate to the actual religion/lore. I don't even know if what I want exists, might have to do it myself.

Were you tired or drunk while watching it?
The visuals were fantastic and the story was sweet, if a little rote. A decent Robin Williams performance and the supporting actors weren't bad either.

>crying because of a film or documentary

reddit is that way friend

Superman Returns
Man of Steel
Batman v Superman
Spider-Man 2
X-Men First Class
Silence
Suicide Squad
Hacksaw Ridge

Try any of these.

...

christcuck

Try Haibane Renmei. A far superior Christian anime to Evangelion

Silence is about as Christian as Richard Dawkins' works.

>father rich
>mother noble
>mohammed can't even read or write and was a schizophrenic

Ben-Hur
The mission
Silence
Its a Wonderful Life
Sister Act
Dogma
The Lord of the Rings
The Lion, the witch & the wardrobe
Kungfu Hustle
The Matrix
Robocop

...

About who now? That's the one with uhh, Jack Nicolaus isn't it?

Agony and Ecstasy

Is the dub any good, or should I watch it with subtitles?
