Basically, the obvious answer would be that it's his ghost under the sheet.
It's not.
It's actually Rooney Mara as an old woman. Basically, Affleck dies and she gets on with her live, has kids, gets married, gets divorced, etc. Her biggest mistake in life is not having children with Affleck. So, by the time she dies of old age, her ghost is in a kind of limbo, forgets its life and to fix this, follows herself around to remember. However, she can only follow herself around AFTER her husband died, so she relives the past by reading the messages in her walls.
In the end her ghost finds peace, moves on an it cuts to her and Affleck in bed again. Her heaven or some shit.
