Getting people to stand still exactly is impossible. Setting up camera positions takes a long time. Cutting them together with CGI in post takes Fincher tier autism and a budget and time they probably don't have for a music video. The Total Recall remake has something similar with CGI and it looks meh.
Michael Bay has been using those crazy robot arms for a while so I assume more people are using them now.
