These aren't wide, even here all highways are 3 lanes.

Do lane drifters scare you too?

>2017
>traffic lights

WIDE EUROPEAN MOTORWAYS

>3 lanes
There's 2 more on the left and right behind the devider.

What city is that?
Why is there so little traffic?

MERGE
OVER
WATER

QUIET EUROPEAN HIGHWAYS

Is that a highway?

ROUNDABOUT
UNDER
THE GROUND

NEVER
ENDING
BRIDGES
Queens Blvd, NY.

...

>that bridge
NOPE!

Do you even use any water on your roads?

my dick is confused

what's that middle road for, bus lane?

THICC

Wouldn't it be easier and more efficient to build the bridge over the canal, not the other way around?

NEVER ENDING DYKES

Honestly that looks really cool.

Netherlanders must always be below water level.

Damn. How can Yurops ever compete?

I'll post a few of Macarthur Maze.

So i80 goes from San Francisco to New Jersey. As you go out of San Francisco across the bay bridge you have this interchange to get around the bay area. We call the interchange Macarthur Maze.

must be very clean air.

...

>all that steel used to elevate the road
Beautiful.

also nice traffic jam

3/3

plebs don't know bout my spaghetti junction

>traffic jam despite 23985 lanes
>gets about as many people moved as a single train line
this is honestly disgusting

Probabily HOV or express. In America we have those. The reader scans your toll tag and charges you for using the faster lanes. There's a switch that lets you use it for free but you should only use it if you have passengers. If you get pulled over and they find out on the computers that you've been using it on free mode without passengers you get a big fine.

>Speed limit on highways

>the video from which that pic was took out of

we can play that too

why are Americans incapable of building normal highway crossings?

Oh okay, in memeland and what i know dutch too don't have toll roads/lanes.

can you stop building 90 degree death interchanges
thanks

That's typical considering the road has a fork.

it would but they built a tunnel to preserve the landscape.

>"Fuck building a bridge, let's make it so the river goes OVER the road."

Because it lets traffic flow better.

SeeMakes sense to me, considering how flat we are you would see that bridge on the horizon from very far.

Was for

no
disgusting

why not both?

it doesn't affect traffic

Yes

Don't compare that to the macarthur

We have giant trucks here that slow down around turns like . It's smoother to build an autism interchange.

typical summer cottage road

I do. You don't need 1000 inefficiently connected roads when you build a handful of well connected ones
Oh we don't have trucks in Europe so this isn't affecting us at all

Trucks here have the engiene in the front of the driver rather than below the driver. Much harder to turn.

well don't build such a shitty trucks then

us road system and planning is so buttfucked by car and truck corporations, no wonder your cities are so boring and lifeless shitholes

Yours is an intersection of two roads on flat ground. Macarthur maze is splitting one of the most significant interstates into 3 highways just on the other side of the bay bridge.

The fact that you thin Macarthur maze could ever look anything like that shows you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.

The cloverleaf intersection you posted is literally an american invention, btw.

>Trucks here have the engiene in the front of the driver rather than below the driver. Much harder to turn.
Why on earth do you make them like that?

>pakis in every direction

>Americans build trucks that can't turn so they build roads without turns
>meanwhile Europeans do pic related

Macshit could be solved much better with a simple triangle
commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Interchanges?uselang=de#/media/File:Interchange-colour-img_0526.jpg

okay that's cool as fuck

>that picture is a 65-80mph highway
Are you intentionally being stupid

What? Can you see how a triangle is basically the highway equivalent of a simple T intersection?

When you exit MacArthur Maze and you look at a compass you'll either be heading North, South, East or west. Do you see how a T intersection doesn't accomplish that?

I feel like you don't know a single thing about roads but felt like arguing today so you're googling shit and making an ass out of yourself.

these streets are ugly and loud as fuck. I wouldn't want to live even close to one of them.

>Because it lets traffic flow better.
it doesn't. They just built it this way, because there wasn't much space.

This is a major freeway bridge in Portland, Oregon. The stupid-looking design is because the original freeway was moved across the river to create a new waterfront park. So they built this braided design to fit the bridge into the available space. It causes terrible traffic jams and will probably collapse in a major earthquake, killing hundreds.

this type of intersection is actually troublesome

>will probably collapse in a major earthquake
Can't wait

I get triggered every time I have to drive on the lower section of this bridge

It's actually known that additional lanes don't actually do much to alleviate traffic congestion.

Yes, but try explaining that to a city council

>Wide

Not in the Eastern US they aren't.

By the way, fuck New York and all of the East Coast save for New England.
