He did it as part of an anti-nonce group who came forward with evidence after he was arrested. He never entered the site he used a credit card to pay for (which is odd if you think he was actually doing it to get off to it), the site turned out to be a regular porn site anyway, the police only cautioned him on it and apparently believe what he said from almost the beginning and he's never been accused of anything else. At worst he fucked up once, never actually really did anything and hasn't done anything since, but even that's unlikely.
