I don't care for it all that much.

Show for people with average IQs to poke fun at people with IQs the slightest bit below theirs

Not anymore

WHERE THE TORRENTS AT?=??????????????P

Pirate Bay

I'm in the same page. Everyone tries to get me to watch this, it's boring and barely funny.

Anything after S7 is trash.

season 1 and 2 are kino. 3 4 5 are decent. 6 and 7 are watchable. 8-11 grandpa saga is pretty shitty, but suitable as background tv. its a shame jroc left, his writing is what made season 9 better than the other new seasons, and he was the only dude still bringing the heat comedically

After last season, I expected nothing good - and got exactly what I expected.

it was a revelation in 2001. it was the first documentary style comedy i can think of, it predates the office uk even

first half is good. i don't think i want to watch the rest, though. whenever a show becomes self-aware it can really turn to shit

tv shows are not for making you laugh, solely, going on an adventure with the boys, you're obviously pretty baked, they're smoking and having fun. You got to enjoy the show to enjoy the show, because its not jokes = funny, its the experience of the show that makes you feel so fucking good.

I never said anything about it being funny.

it turns to shit because the creator and head writer left after season 7. although the tpb movie he made in 2014 was pretty good. after that its the 3 leads who write the show and they have very limited comedic writing ability

went to shit when they stopped shooting on the low res cameras

also when they started shoehorning trannies and the gay lahey thing into the mix

Ricky and Lahey are unironically my favourite comedy characters of all time
>that video game is the key to shitty city and julian is the muscular mayor

you severely misunderstand the clattenbergs original intention. people who go to the live shows and say shit like this probably make him want to kill himself

trailer park boys the movie is LITERAL kino and the peak of the entire series. it also had great fucking cinematography

Mr. Lahey comes out of the closet in S3, when they were still filming on low res cameras. They didn't switch to widescreen til S7.

I agree about the overabundance of Donna though. He's featured too heavily for a less funny character and him and Barb and that giant dyke running the park in the last season was just awful.

The shitty cameras added to the atmosphere

>the gay lahey thing into the mix
so, season 1?

old doddering low energy lahey makes me fucking sad

Lahey and randy were caught in the third ever episode, you fucktard

>you severely misunderstand the clattenbergs original intention.
Can you point me towards articles or interviews where they talk about this? Asking as a huge fan of the series

The gay lahey thing is funny but the tranny shit was annoying as fuck and the stronk womyn of season 10 felt forced as fuck

i just remember him and randy being colleagues early on not gay lovers

sorry rain man, i dont have every episode categorised in my brain

ill rephrase it to 'when they started to shove it down our throats' then

first seasons are GOAT on comfiness and comedy levels

the later seasons are near unwatchable

Mr. Lahey being gay is fine, because he has redeeming character traits to fall back on, and he's generally entertaining to watch.

The trannies, and dykes just aren't funny though, so you end up with obnoxious, and annoying characters who are also representatives of the LGBTQ community. Because of this, the audience ends up being trained in a Pavlovian fashion to associate these negative characterizations with the marginalized groups represented.

Torrent out yet ?

Is it already out?

When I found this show for the first time when I was 18 on Showcase, I thought it was the best thing ever. This was the like the missing link in my life when it came to TV comedy series.

It's not quite as funny or entertaining now, though. But it's still quite good.

Did they neuter Lahey in the new season ?

>watching straight porn
>layhey dressed like a girl
>randys face covered
i always liked this about old school season 1 and 2 tpd, characters were written like real-ish people in a small town. lahey and randy are gay but their small town rural values prevent them from totally embracing or accepting it, so they go to great lengths to heterosize the situation in an attempt to make what theyre doing okay in their minds.

i also loved how lahey had to pour liquor on bland food in order to be able to eat, its a dark and horrifying truth about mortal alcoholism that the character and writing manages to make funny.
rip in peace tpb

i liked it when i was a teenager, but then it started feeling kind of formulaic and right around that time, a bunch of people i know started spamming memes of it on facebook and making their own horribly unfunny randy jokes and rickyisms and it's kind of killed any desire to revisit it

Literally no one i know, expect for stoners, know about tpb feels gut man

but Snoop Dogg fills that vacuum, right?

I remember back in 2000, before I had internet, I would flip through channels for hours looking for something to fap to. Usually Showcase, Bravo, and much music. Stopped on the Black and White movie and stopped fapping and watched It. Never seen anything like It. Taped it when it was on later and showed everyone.
Year later, I was doing the same thing and came across an episode thinking they made another movie but in colour. Then it just ended and I was like that was a weird way to end a movie. Found out it was a show and was stoked. By season 2, it became family time every sunday at 10:30 for five more years. My favourite show of all time. The new seasons are different and kind of forced, but I still love them.
Americans didn't even know about it until after season 7 ended.

came out today holmes. it got even worse

They're not from a small rural town, they're in the shithouse outskirts of dartmouth/halifax, nova scotia.

I stumbled upon S1 on Showcase when I was 10 or 11. God bless The Government of Canada.

i'm canadian and also hung out with a stoner-y crowd in high school so it just got to be such brutal fucking overkill with that overlap going on

>when you're 13 and watching Showcase after midnight hoping for softcore porn, and your hopes are dashed, but you get kino instead

Cole Harbour largely

Rough neck of the woods, that.

there are no articles, just my opinion. the show replaced the underlying morose and sometimes really dark commentary about poverty and alcoholism with ebin memes about liquorball sandwiches, the desperate attempt to make the show hip to sell swearnet as a company, the roadshows, and all that other various silliness. dont legalize it was the last project to touch on any of those dark themes

>who are also representatives of the LGBTQ community
thats just your dislike of gays shining through. i dont like don/donna or the big mexican dyke either, but theyre supposed to be pieces of shit, not "representatives" of political communities

i just meant backwoods types in general

>Cole Harbour
Huh so Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia is shit but Cole Harbour, Vancouver is fantastic

the new seasons are just a ploy to sell swearnet merchandise. also ive never met a single person who gives a shit about that abortion of a network or website or whatever the fuck the boys were hoping would come from it. but they never hesitate to brandish swearnet logos in the new seasons, its honestly pathetic. you can literally feel how desperate they are to stop doing the show and branch out, but they have almost no talent and nobody gives a shit about them as actors or creators, people only care about the characters clattenburg invented, which is why the show is still able to cling on in its zombified state. its such a comfy and interesting universe that shit writers like the boys are able to keep it barely afloat. sort of a simpsons parallel

because the first 2 seasons still had remnants from the 1999 concept which was so dark it was barely a comedy at all

one last chance is kino back when julian and ricky were cat killers and murderers

agreed, I'm only in it for the boys

also, HOLY FUCK randy was so goddamn annoying this season
worst character except for gut jokes

I'm a self-hating gay (or maybe just a gay that hates crossdressers, and fat bulldykes), but the fact their entire characterization can be summarized as "unfunny two-faced crossdresser" and "obese lesbian" is shallow, and lazy. They either need to get some more development, or cut them completely, because they're straight up detrimental to the show.

How is Season 11 so far? It has to be better than 10, right?

Lahey and Randy are legitimately the best gay couple since Mission Hill.

Yup. Once they came back from that movie and Corey and Trevor were gone the show sucked.

Just finished Season 11, definitely kino

>dat scene in season 8 where Randy and Jim have an argument, Randy leaves him, and Jim skulls the rest of his bottle of whiskey all in one shot

I think this is how we all found it. I remember around grades 6-7, anytime there was a sleepover and we'd stay up till past midnight, you threw it on Bravo and like you said hope to see some softcore porn. Different fuckin' times that was.

I remember always changing the channel anytime TPB came on instead of boobs until a guy in my 6th grade class told me that it was a fuckin' hilarious show. Finally one day I gave it a chance and been laughing ever since.

Very true. Even just watching the clip in is funny, sure, but for 2000, that scene was dark as fuck and honestly creepy. The way Julian handles the entire situation is also fairly unnerving and frankly a bit sociopathic. He's bizarrely calm for a guy who just walked in on two guys, one crossdressing and the other with a gimp mask, and the way he blackmails them is cold and calculating.

It's the best of the Netflix era for sure. They got rid of most of the annoying new characters (Private Dancer, Candy, Don/Donna) and kept the plot mostly revolved around general park bullshit instead of another Julian bar or weed resort.

If J-Roc was still around this season could have been fantastic, but it sorely misses him.

i forgot how much atmosphere this show had in the early seasons. christ watching anything past seaons 3, the christmas special, or the movie are just fucking depressing at how unfunny they are

Only the first 5 episodes are up at the place i stream video but god damn this feels like a good season. its like they heard peoples complaints and went back to the roots

This show was good for like 5 seasons and then went to shit.
Still, I watched the last 2 Netflix seasons for more. The last one dropped today and I didn't give a shit, I won't watch it after the travesty of the last two.
