This time every gook is sleeping. You open thread wrong time
there are only like 2 Koreans on Sup Forums anyway
I started learning grammar during down hours on the train. It's a really fun language idiom wise. However, only real use I get out of it are bragging rights and being able to read freaky porn.
it's so scenic, where's it?
I would really like to learn it. Might just start doing it at work for reading/writing as this is when I actually have some free time funnily enough. There are a lot of Koreans here but they keep to themselves really, so I don't know how I would get the opportunity to use it even though its there.
Who wants a solid 6/10 bf?
howtostudykorean.com
This is where I'm getting my lessons from. It's structured quite splendidly. It's free except for the auxiliary assingments which are 100% optional.
The int wiki says I should be able to learn hangul in an hour.
This is my 4th day and I'm still only half way through.
What is going on.
Which ones are you struggeling with?
Thanks mate. I might actually be productive now
I'm not struggling with it it's just that can't learn more than 4 letters per day. Otherwise I start mixing them up. Also I keep going back to reiterate what I've learnt so far because it feels like I'm forgetting everything as soon as I stopped reading.
I didn't know all of them when I started on my vocabulary ... it was really tough and frustrating actually for I was using a site which also provided audio segments which seemed to not match with what I thought I learned through extensively rehearsing hangul. It's a good way to pick-up on some pronunciation though.
How do you know?
Gangwon
I've browsed this board a long time and only ever spoken to a couple. The rest were just english teachers or tourists larping

give me learning advice - I started today
why does korean have so many english words even for the most basic things? It's not like they had to incorporate new words for newer things like aeroplanes or computers. Even the basic stuff like cookies, pares and cards are a direct english rip off. Why?
"milkushaku" is my all time favourite
You must not forget about japanese influences who also adopted words like the german Arbeit. "아르바이트" --> Areubaiteu which means something like part-time job.
Do they eat dog meat?
1. They want to lick their US overlord's boot, have to use as much English words as possible for that.
2. They hate their Chinese heritage and wanted to show chinks the middle finger, so had to minimize usage of Sino-Korean vocabulary. That's also the reason why they won't use Chinese writing system any more.
Actually koreans have their own words for it. It's just that those words are only used north of the border
Because you don't realize how many loanwords European languages have (in comparison to East Asian languages like Korean or Japanese) because they have been ingrained so much into the vocabulary, for example, "aeroplane", "computer", "cookie", "pare" and "card" are loandwords in English and English had perfectly good words for the same concepts but the native words were nevertheless replaced by the newer loanwords
It's the most active thread about Korea
/Korea/ Is growing
yes, it is about time the korean man may co-exist alongside the salaryman
Asian language scripts are aesthetically pleasing to me, I don't know why

안녕하세요
After years of making TVs, the Koreaman can finally stand with the rest of the South East Asian countries
Anyone else feel like this is unironically the greatest song of all time?
According to the same book/database/study, the proportion of Japanese vocabulary by strata is:
Native Japanese (including "mimetic words" i.e. onomatopoetic and sound-symbolic words and does not include words that are sometimes "perceived" to be native Japanese but are actually foreign like kabocha ぼちゃ or tabako たばこ) 61.2%
Sino-Japanese (including Japanese coinages from Japanese speakers rather than loans) 30.2%
Non-Chinese Foreign (not including gādoman ガードマン which is likely to be a Japanese coinage) 6.3%
Hybrid 2.3%
Because Sup Forums korean group are so small

I thought various online forums were quite popular in Korea? Or is it just because most Koreans don't like to or can't speak English?
Sup Forums-like people just hang out in ilbe

Most korean can't english well and no Confidence too. Many korean think major western forum are reddit and Sup Forums is just weeboo forum. I think That's why.
Major korean forum is dcinside, todayshumor, ruliweb, namuwiki, ilbe ... etc
what is ilbe like? i heard that its the closest equivalent to Sup Forums. Weebs should be purged but if Korea was as popular as Japan we would be infested with Kpop retards
