user, the crowd was surging in all directions at once. Say you could land a good blow with a bottle against that faggots head, guess what? Now 30 people have pushed you forward, you're on the floor and smoke is filling the air.
It was a very, very small space and the fire spread quickly. Less than 10 minutes, and the entire place is a literal fire filled oven. Very few exits to begin with.
Most everyone is drunk, lighting already sucked, but now the smoke makes it worse.
It was literal panic and fear. Look up a video and hear the screams while watching people jam in the doorways.
