If I rent an apartment privately and my landlord is providing the internet included in rent, how do I watch porn in my apartment without him knowing what I'm watching? If he is my ISP can't he track all internet activity?

Pay for a VPN

I thought this thread was going to be you are a landlord and you sniff a celebrity's panties when they are away.

would that keep them from being able to see my internet traffic entirely?

only visit sites that have https, http sites are not encrypted and will show in plaintext the URL.

thanks for the advice.

I think I'm going to look into a VPN. I'm still only just looking at apartments and haven't signed any leases but this is just something I'm thinking about since I watch a lot of porn. I just don't want my future landlord to know the amount I watch because I don't want them using that impression against me.

does it actually matter? he probably faps too.

Is that her real hair?

probably not. I just jerk off to weird shit like shemale porn and furries and I just don't want him getting the wrong impression of me. like I don't want him to be like my tenant is a fucking weirdo, I'm going to try and not make him want to re sign the lease when it is up by raising the rent or something.

no

But you are.

yes but I dont want him to know

I'm not debating the porn choices don't make me a fucking weirdo but I dont want that to bleed onto the rest of the impression or overshadow my credibility as a good tenant. like I'm still going to be courteous and pay my rent on time without being a difficult tenant.

let's imagine i'm your landlord

if you use a VPN, i can see that you're connecting to www.vpn.com a whole bunch, but i can't see what it is.

its oversimplified and you're probably shadowboxing anyway, like who really gives a shit enough to do that, but that's it.

(that is, i can see you going to www.vpn.com, but i can't see what you're doing on www.vpn.com)

he'll still see which domains you visited though.
@op: Use TOR or get a VPN (Cloudflare VPN is for free btw, it's limited bandwidth though)

I can't imagine any landlord taking the time to look into their tenants browsing history unless they gave them a reason to do so. Like if they thought I was cooking meth or dealing drugs or something obviously they may want to do some digging but if I'm just some schmuck who comes and goes to work I can't imagine anybody being interested.

on the other hand, I thought maybe the paranoia would be a good way to force myself to cut down on the porn anyway.

landlords are swine who should all invariably be guillotined, but their crime isn't likely to be 'giggling that their tenant visits shemalegrannyporn.biz'. their crime is far more likely to be 'lol you want repairs fuck you im in the Canaries for 11 months, also fuck you' instead

although yeah its a good idea to practice internet privacy hygiene, and probably deleting all those multiple terabytes of shemale granny porn as well. just a lifehack lol

so cute

Just use a vpn advertised on Sup Forums or piratebay.org

Just watch it at the library. They usually have free wifi or computers that can access the internet.

Most landlords don't give a fuck unless you're behind on rent. You're making a problem out of nothing. Just wear headphones and don't hog the bandwidth.

yes. all he would see is you are connecting to xyz.net. all of your traffic gets "tunneled" through that connection. this only works on those devices you set to use the vpn. if you set your laptop to use the vpn and not your cell phone then landlord will see all of your cellphone connections. in addition as others point out, if you connect to something that uses https protocol, then your landlord can only see that you connected to the site. like if you use all he will see is a connection to boards.Sup Forums.org not the content, nor anything else in the url. if you did that using http (not https) then he would see the whole url, and could monitor all of your traffic between you and the site.
