Ah, here we are on another early depressing morning. 5 am.. no work today. Just me and my thoughts alone in this room in this empty, cold house.
Ah, here we are on another early depressing morning. 5 am.. no work today...
Why don't you go shower and shave, then put on a nice shirt and a clean pair of slacks before going to church? It will get you out of the house, get you interacting with other humans, plus you get to sing happy songs glorifying God. You can stay depressed sitting around the house all day but you don't have to, the choice is yours.
Im afraid religious stuff isnt for me. I already took a shower after a got off of work and a clean white t shirt. as for human interaction, i could ask family to come over for a few but i just dont see the point.
I was depressed for ten years, also thinking religious stuff wasn't for me. Then I started reading the Bible and got baptized. Now I pray and worship every day and my depression has completely evaporated. Why don't you at least try it? Go with an open mind and an open heart and I think you'll be surprised how much joy you can find in faith.
you should turn on a heater if you are cold!
user I just wanna let you know that I think you'll find what you're looking for. I wish you luck.
To me religion seems to just be a masking tactic. to just mask the thought of death. i never really think of it as a source to help me cope. people have told me to find someone to love or find a hobby to take my mind off things and get out more. but in the end it just never seems to work. thanks for the suggestion though, user. i'll consider it.
One day, maybe. Thanks for the luck fren.
You have a house?
Yep, Not that big though. But i am grateful for it.
Church is for faggots.
Whose house is it user? I'd like to own a house someday. But for now I'm content with my parent's roof over my head. It's better than no roof and out in the cold.
Just wanted to say, that ive found music like Earth wind and fire to help my mood. Lets groove is a personal favorite.
Church/religion nowadays are nothing but social status mechanisms. Especially in small towns where everyone knows everyone else's business and notices if they're absent on Sundays. Religion is one big dumb hoax.
if you're under the age of about 23 screw you
It's not to mask the thought of death, it's to find hope amid death, to find joy amid despair. I used to be completely nihilistic, convinced that every day was meaningless and my life had no purpose because everything equaled nothing in the end. I realize now how poisonous such an outlook is. When you listen to the words of Jesus and put your trust in him, you know that the grave has no power over you. Now instead of looking at eternity with despair, I look at it with hope and faith. Now instead of looking at each day with depression, I see each day as a blessing from my loving Father.
if you're under the age of 27 fuck you
it is my house. and yeah, having a parent's roof is better than not having a roof.
wow how old did you know I was faggot god gtfo bitch
Go outside to a bar or something you fucking goof. No one is making you stay in. Fucking cry baby.
I'll look into it.
Maybe some people treat it like that, I recommend church to OP because it sounds like he isn't familiar with religion and I think the Christian faith could help him grow as a person and overcome his depression. True religion is not a mere social mechanism, it's a means to develop spiritual strength and emotional fortitude.
yeah those are helpful
Thank you user. Music can effect your mood, so happier music can help you smile.
Go to the bar with who and go outside and do what?
the trick is to learn to not waste time
>Excuses
You are taking yourself outside to a bar for a beer. That's it. It doesn't have to be anything more than that, you don't even have to talk to anyone. It just gets you outside and stops you whining loudly on Sup Forums.
It's not hard user. You aren't badly done by. You can change your situation. If you don't go outside today your a fucking soft faggot you just likes sad fishing.
Ouch, but i guess that's true.
>go outside and do what?
There's a whole world out there, you know that right? Go to a museum. Have a cup of tea at a cafe. Go for a day hike. Read an interesting book at the library. Go bicycling. Practice tennis. Learn about your local trees and birds. Go camping. Do some gardening. Volunteer at a soup kitchen or an animal shelter. Get off the damn computer and go outside.
harvest moon>drinking
Yeah man I'm jealous, at least you have a fucking house all to yourself which you can sit in and be depressed. Start playing Classic WoW or something, it'll help and give you something to do.
Do something about it then! Start getting ready now. Don't think about it, just do it. Sometimes I wish I was there with you guys so I could beat you into normality. You wouldn't want to hide inside all day if there was a 6'7 angry man in your home ready to beat you for staying in.
Going to church and reading the bible will help with depression. Playing classic wow alone all day will make your depression much much worse, depression doesn't go away because you numb it with vidya and booze.
how much is your hourly rate? I'd need you thursday through sunday.
reading the bible is a last resort though
tales of symphonia is a better recommendation
but then again I'm kind of a smart ass
^^^^^
the cure for depression is wisdom, you won't find any wisdom to speak of by wasting your time with vidya
tales of symphonia is the end game to a game where jesus died though
and there's that damn decenael staring at you every fucking time you open the menu
I'm on $280 a day, so if I'm taking the day off from work to beat you I'll want like for like and an invoice. If you want me to come round after work, I'll have to use your shower and towels, call it $230 for the day. You got me for 12 hours and you provide your own beating stick.,..
But seriously, today pick your shit up. Go outside, go to a park, go for a walk. So long as you spend an hour or two outside. That's all I want you to do today./
do you own the house?
or he can decorate his home so it feels more "home"
GO OUTSIDE MOTHERFUCKER
we're trying to help you, stop coming up with excuses to shoot yourself in the foot
no, fuck you
I literally just got randomly sick, yelled at a voice in my head and it got better
if you'd fucking help I wouldn't have gotten sick
wtf are you talking about? are you on meth or something?
god damn it
Only you can change yourself. If you're content with being miserable, wellp, stop crying to us about it.
He hears voices or some shit. Here's the thing right, we all have mental health issues. I suffer from a stress disorder and it gets so bad I have depersonalisation episodes. But I still have to go to work and climb and dismantle trees. I can't hide inside, then my condition wins. As men we can't give in, people need us and depend on us. Men weren't meant to shy away when shit gets rough.
I can't, in good conscience, say you're retarded because of a conversation I had earlier
there's literally not shit outside here anyway I live in rural PA
as in my parents bought this house from farmers and they still plant stuff here
We tried to help you but we can't make you stop being a sad sack. Maybe you'll recognize that you're just making excuses because you're self-sabotaging as always.
It's just dawned on me. OP is the 'being on probation for being black' guy. Sly mother fucker has really shaken up his approach.
no, family guy says that's a jew tendency
if you think family guy is in any way innovative you clearly misunderstand what television is
>You got me for 12 hours and you provide your own beating stick.,..
That's kind of hot
Thanks dude, made me smile.
Okay, enough posts about church. Religion was created as a panacea to help people cope with the fear of dying. Too many believe death is the equivalent of being placed in a dark room for eternity. It's not. It's the cessation of all brain function. We are not aware of anything after death because we cease to be. It's not anything to fear.
The scriptures were revealed by the Holy Spirit, they were not created as a panacea. If religion was created simply to assuage fears of death, there would be no point in including the part about hell, right?
tfw god says that he is charles bukowski and I have no idea what to say to that because I've read 4 of his books

There is nothing worth waking up for, no real reason to live. everyday gets worse.
stick with the struggle fam
Religion seemed like bs to me, but I had personal experiences that showed me God exists/is Jesus
In retrospect if I was trying to show myself I'd tell myself to check out the prophecies in Daniel. Basically writes out the world empires in order along with some of how they come to power quite some time in advance. There's a lot of other prophecies that came true as well, like Israel becoming a nation and Tyre being scrapped off the rocks and thrown into the sea. Really specific stuff.
The way Babylon was taken was also prophesied before it happened; it's really specific too.
The reason God does that is so that we can "Know that I am he". Also he's not missing or anything, like, you can ask him and there's really good odds he'll give you faith.
Being Christian doesn't make this life perfect, but it gives you 1. A moral and truth authority to lean on 2. A relationship with literally God, the interactions with whom are basically always astounding and 3. Forgiveness of sins/eternal life.
Eternal life isn't in this body either, it's in human body MK2 that's got a hell of a lot better features.
If you wanna feel validated about how depressing life can be, Eccelsiasties is the best book of the Bible to read. It's short.
Another good one is John/Romans. Not so much for wallowing in depression, but excellent for eternal life.
KJV/NASB are two good word-for-word translations available online. Literal word is a good app for android if you wanna mope around and read.
Also proverbs teaches a shitton of life lessons that I haven't ever seen not be true; worth looking at regardless of religious sentiment
Thanks for sharing, I'm off to church!
kachigga
This post is based on the assumption that Christians don't already know what happens after death
It's a place. It's an unpleasant one where the worms don't die.
The Bible accurately predicted genetic defects (curses) being passed down through generations like 4000 years before we knew DNA existed. It openly discusses "arrows with intelligence" a few thousand years in advance of smart bombs. "The life is in the blood" several thousand years before bloodletting.
It's on point on everything else, predicts the future, and has been found to be scientifically sound. It also says hell exists and that it's a terrible place.
turn on the heating then retard
Play some games OP
Depressed user also checking in. First beer and Rail of re-rock of the morning, Fuck life.
