Character is being chased by something

>Character is being chased by something
>He keeps turning around to look at it as he runs

>two characters having dialogue
>one sentence ends
>cut to a completely different filming location where a lot of time must have passed for them to get there
>next sentence is a continuation and/or reply to the previous sentence as if the conversation had never been interrupted

I hate this shit.

>car chase
>coming up to busy intersection
>puts the foot down and speeds through (bonus points for actually showing a foot slamming down on the pedal)
>checks rearview mirror to see the chaser screeching to a halt

>two characters talking about a problem to be solved
>one character could sort out the situation easily by saying one simple thing
>doesn't

>character apparently is driving in a straight line
>he casually flails the steering wheel back and forth for no reason

unbalanced wheels

Yeah, it's more the notion that they think this is still clever that I find offensive.

>characters in a restaurant talking
>either one or both have plates of food in front
>they use their cutlery to cut the food
>doesn't eat during the whole scene

>characters playing a video game in a scene
>they proceed to press all the buttons randomly
>sound effects from Halo, Space Invaders, or generic racing game

>Characters are playing an MMORPG
>"Dude! You got the high score!"
>"No-one's ever made it to level 14 before!"

kek'd

That's a good one. It always baffled me that they still tried to pull this shit often throughout the 2000s.

>bad guy confronts person with gun who is clearly inexperienced
>tells them the safety is on
>tells them how to cock it

Has any movie subverted this at all?
Like one character calls out the other for taking 20 minutes to complete a sentence

>Characters who are apple Herbert fries
>second second trilby hat wearer arrives
>genesis of spurts

>mfw

It's pretty lazy and alienating that someone thinks they can throw that out there and think "it'll be fine". I guess they don't really value the immersion of the kneckbeard crowd.

I think the simpsons called it out one time but I can't be sure.

Ready Player One is going to be a pain in the ass.

>Movie references "You talkin to me" scene from Taxi Driver
>Movie references "I'm walkin here" from Midnight Cowboy
>Movie references Horse-head scene from Godfather I.

>"This isn't a movie, this is real life!"

>Character is playing a videogame
>It's literally an Atari game with "bleep-bleep-bloop" sound-effects

I've never seen Halo used aside from that one time on Dexter.

>character gets shot through the head
>staggers for a few seconds before dropping

>Character gets shot in the stomach
>Looks down at his own bloody hand that was covering the wound before falling down dead

>random character gets taken hostage
>can immediately identify kidnappers identities and credit card info

yeah, when Marge almost cheated on homer right after they got married with the aviator

No, thatd be deadpool tier levels of reddit

American Dad did once but I can't remember the episode.

>character'a heart stops
>other character gives CPR by mouth
>unconscious character is revived without vomiting and starts speaking normally.

>Character is shot in the torso.

>Person is able to speak coherently without blood filling their lungs.

>Character is saved from almost drowning
>Other character gives CPR
>First character coughs up a mouthful of water

Does that happen? If there was that much excess water in their body, wouldn't they have drowned?

>Main character is about to get shot by the antagonist
>BANG!
>Main character looks down
>Camera shows the antagonist being shot from a different angle

>protag on phone with girlfriend
>no you're not breaking up i can hear you fine!
>...
>...
>...
>oh
>you're breaking up with me

fuck
