Why do americans get attached to their sports franchises?

why do americans get attached to their sports franchises?
seriously, they're just companies that want to make a profit out of you in every way shape or form and nothing else, they show no respect by either straight up moving or just constantly threatening to leave so that tax payer's money give them a new stadium or something.

what makes you cheer for a private company? there's no sense of belonging, seriously don't understand this.

ps: mods pls don't delete this thread, I'm trying to have a proper discussion with no shitposting

I would enjoy having sex with her.

Otherwise, I dont know , Im not an american. It is interesting that NFL is founded under the same regulation WWE is. They are both entertainment companies, not sports

we see companies as a conscious beings, and we love these beings accordingly

no we aren't, everyone in the stadium including the teams feel plastic and manufactured as fuck, even the commentators sound cringy when an action or event occurs, just the simple change of having localized commentary for each team would make it 10x better, only baseball has that

>ps: mods pls don't delete this thread, I'm trying to have a proper discussion with no shitposting
I'm sorry for you but guess what, they are deleting it.

No they are not.

youre not >trying to have a proper discussion with no shitposting, your opinions on this topic are already set in stone. you have nothing to do but shitpost.

I made the exact same thread a few days ago and it got deleted.
I don't understand why, it's proper sports discussion and the picture is Martin Demichelis' wife, so it's literally sports related.

isn't a football club a private company as well

what are you talking about? my opinion are already formed, yes. that's what opinion are, I'm trying to understand the american side of this, not gonna change my mind at all, but at least I would know why.

Because mods get so much butthurt after someone criticize american sports. Remember yesterday those threads mocking american sports for one successful play rewarding more than one point? It was 100% sports and mods were still fat and butthurt at it.

nah, it's owned by the club members.
there are some clubs in europe that do have owners like in England, but most in the world don't.

no, they're clubs.

Clubs need to make profit too. American clubs don't even sell their players off like Football clubs do

yes but the club makes a profit for us, the members, not from us.

it's our club, it's our profit, used in our facilities, our tennis courts, our football fields, our swimming pools, our stadiums, our colleges, our everything.

Jesus you guys sound ridiculous

they pay you a dividend on your "investment"? they pay you to go to the games?

why?

NHL has localised commentary for most games

splendid argument.

Because what do you even mean "our"? What's the difference?

read what this guy said

we run the club, it's not a private company, it's essentially a second home.

that doesnt really sound like they are paying you at all. it sounds like they are just reinvesting their profits.

So you're telling me someone like Roman Abramovic doesn't own his club? or Stan Kroenke?

how often are you allowed to use their weight room and training pitch?

read this literally whenever I want.

our profits, we are reinvesting our profits, into our club.

So then why are you trying to pick on Americans when it's clearly not a phenomenon that is unique to them?

In most third world countries clubs are owned by the people who enroll in the membership. Same is here, though people who run it have insulated themselves from the masses and you cant get into boardroom positions with no cash

so places like the bernabeu or the san siro just let random "investors" on their field every week?

we all do, constantly.
and even then I'm not sure if the members still run the club or not because they still have presidents.

the same reason you watch tv shows and movies

real madrid has an owner, I don't know how it works though.
but anyways, the main stadium is not a training ground, you can go there whenever you want and have a tour of the stadium but you can't set foot on the pitch.
there are special football fields for the use of any member who wants to use them.

and don't feel attached nor cheer for tv shows or movies, I don't feel a sense of belonging with them and I don't get passionate about them.

that doesnt sound very welcoming. are you allowed access to their medical staff? if you pulled a muscle doing something could you go see the team physio?

>are you allowed access to their medical staff?
yes, I don't know how to call this thing in english but there's like a tiny clinic in the club.

and the team offers better medical care than is available elsewhere in the city?

>that doesnt sound very welcoming
what doesn't?

well it sounds like they are still keeping you an arms length away from the team even though you say you are part of the club.

the team is composed of football players, so no, I don't think they can give me better medical care than actual doctors.
if you mean the club doctors then we are socialists so we have universal healthcare, it's essentially the same everywhere.
the point of the tiny clinic is ease of access since the club grounds are gigantic and you might need it quick.

you can find the players in the club whenever you want and take pictures with them or whatever, just not when they're training or playing m8.

First team wouldnt be allowed on the stadium pitch when its not a game day either. That's why practice fields exist.

>third world countries
Barcelona is owned by members.
