bump

bmp. come on dudes, let's have horror thread

have it your way then, cucks

>the best horror movie
That's a trick question, horror movies are trash.

the sequel was better

Only ones that come on my mind are Babadook, VVitch, Sinister and it follows

>VVitch

This tbqh

It Follows is the best but all those are good

I'd add Insidious to the list

Oculus, Starry Eyes, and Lights Out too maybe

The Sacrament is a personal favorite but it's not very good

Oujia 2

The Conjuring

Based Patrick Wilson.

>the sequel was better

The VVitch is kino. The rest are mediocre.

The Babadook is a psychological thriller and therefore disqualified.

The VVitch isn't real horror

why not, because it doesn't have any jumpscares?

Krampus

For me, it's Sinister.

It may not be objectively the best, but Jesus Christ, if fucking freaked me out. One of the scariest movies I've ever experienced.

none of the other movies mentions so far scared me as much as this one.

Honestly i think it was the fucking soundtrack. The music they play during the videos was fucking terrifying.

The music is probably the best aspect of that movie, especially in this fucking scene.

THIS

The soundtrack is what made the movie. I don't know where they found some of this music, but the music alone could make any situation scary.

That's a good one, but this one freaked me out the most

Whoa, huhuh what spooky coincidence...

Besides Sinister, I really enjoyed Krampus. Not scary, but was very enjoyable.

Cabin in the Woods I think is a little overrated, but I get what it was trying to do.

honestly dont even remember if i watched either of them but i feel like i did

Ones that haven't been mentioned--
Tucker and Dale vs. Evil (though more comedy)
I Saw the Devil
We Are What We Are
The Woman
You're Next
The Invitation
Kill List
The Wailing
Evil Dead remake

Just finished Train to Busan and I thought it was really well done, just imagine Snakes on the Plane but less shit. The only bad parts were the zombies but everything else was pretty solid and every part was well acted.

Cabin in the Woods was the biggest steaming pile of shit I've seen this decade. If it didn't have Whedon's name on it the movie would be forgotten very quickly.

A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night (although not particularly scary, it was kino)
Goodnight Mommy

It would also be forgotten if that elevator scene was taken out. I've never seen so many reddit references in one scene.

Only correct answer.

I was really surprised by how much I ended up liking the Evil Dead remake. It was far from being as enjoyable as any of the originals but I was really expecting it to be lazy cash in shit.

This all the way

All those wasted monsters yet they just roll with zombies because they were in at the time, how unoriginal.

It's been a shit 30 years for horror, but maybe the witch? The conjuring is the worst piece of shit of a horror movie I've seen in years

>I was really expecting it to be lazy cash in shit
but that's exactly what it was

I honestly enjoyed it more than the first ED, it was kinda boring.

film was fucking garbage

>dad you killed my girlfriend
>haha jk its fine lets go

I didnt care about the family in the second movie. American ghosts are best ghosts. Most hateful too.

I definitely would have enjoyed it more if it were its own movie but all the shit that happens at the end was so over the top and unlike what usually happens in modern horror movies (remakes especially) that I didn't mind.

Get Out is unironically my favorite since Scream.

lights out was the shittiest premise I've ever seen placed on film

VHS

>we gotta save mom!
>don't worry we're gonna save her ok I promise
>mom:I was the asshole ghost all along! *blows head off*

Whelp

vhs gave me some shivers i enjoyed it, 2 was trying too hard at times i think

Oculus was underrated.

get out and don't breathe are both incredible

Get Out is 10/10

Nah
