Many, but not all. If nothing else, a lack of activity in the transfer market in recent weeks suggests Newcastle fans will be able to give their team’s match against Burnley on Wednesday their full attention. Having missed out on Daniel Sturridge despite labouring under the delusion they had a deal wrapped up, the Magpies are now being linked with Manchester City central defender Eliaquim Mangala, who will find himself surplus to requirements at the Etihad once Aymeric Laporte arrives from Athletic Bilbao for £57m. Feyenoord striker Nicolai Jorgensen has also been linked with a move to St James’ Park, where recent disappointments mean season ticket-holders are unlikely to be holding their breath waiting for any big – or even small – announcements.

>In potentially good news for Peter Crouch, Fernando Llorente, Olivier Giroud and any other sentient male over 6ft tall who happens to be walking past Stamford Bridge at around 10.30pm (GMT) tomorrow, the mooted move of Edin Dzeko to Chelsea has fallen through after the Roma striker failed to agree personal terms on an 18-month contract. His Roma team-mate Emerson Palmieri will be flying in to cough for the Chelsea medics later today, after the two clubs agreed a fee of £17.6 plus £7m in add-ons for the left-back. Giroud remains the favourite to go to Chelsea instead of Dzeko, as Arsenal charitably bid to increase their London rivals’ chances of beating them to a Champions League qualification spot, while out-of-favour defender David Luiz could go the other way as a makeweight in any deal.

One of those players hailed as a real bargain when he was signed for £11m last summer, Swansea City flop Roque Mesa has gone to Sevilla on loan. Crystal Palace remain interested in Lille central defender Ibrahim Amadou and Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, while Burnley have made an audacious £10m bid for Nottingham Forest’s 21-year-old centre-half Joe Worrall. Relegation threatened Stoke are hoping to get their £14m deal for Galatasaray midfielder Badou Ndiaye over the line today, but will miss out on 21-year-old local lad-turned-New York City star, Jack Harrison, who is off to Manchester City and will promptly be shipped out on loan to Middlesbrough.

>And finally, in dire need of a notoriously calming influence for the many overpaid and under-achieving troublemakers in their squad, Sunderland hope to sign Norn Iron and Hearts frontman Kyle Lafferty. Sunderland boss Chris Coleman had offered Chris Martin a loan deal, but decided the dithering Derby County striker wasn’t for him when he went all Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte by asking for 48 Hours and then Another 48 Hours to think about his decision.

Thank you!

Reminder that the window closes tomorrow, 11pm GMT.

Not a fan of these Guardian copy-pasted OPs. Stick to BBC's gossip page or don't bother.

Joe Hart to Celtic will happen on deadline day. You heard it here first.

If this happened, would he still be picked for Russia?

always the victim

Still don't get why Sturridge chose West Brom over Poocastle.

Auba is unironically on a plane as we speak headed for London.

He's been shocking for West Ham, he's been knocked down the pecking order behind Adrian and now that they're out of all the cup competitions he probably won't play another game for the rest of the season unless Adrian gets injured. He's almost certainly lost the no. 1 shirt for England unless he has some miraculous comeback but he won't get that chance at West Ham anymore.

Really, really difficult to predict who will get relegated this season. There's no nailed on team after Swansea's recent run of form. Also WBA signing Sturridge makes them seem far stronger.

Maybe Swansea, Stoke and Huddersfield.

I'm guessing Southampton will make a few signings tomorrow with the Van Dijk money, they'd be mad not to.

Has klopp always been this paranoid

He wants to win the FA Cup.

...

So now that the dust has settled.. Can we all agree that Klopp has been a huge dissapointment, a cry baby and a flop all together?

I hope Chelsea don't sell Batman

feel like this window is just cementing city's advantage over us

everyone else is panic buying immediate first team players and they're signing depth

poor slippy

We should all be thankful towards West Ham. I reckon that had Hart remained starter at West Ham till the end of the season, irregardless of form, he'd be England's no.1 at the WC. A blessing in the skies.

>Pardew
>FA Cup winner
Pick only one.

Smugness, sarcams, and self deprecating irony (⌐■_■)

City are somewhat banic buying because of the supposed new FFP rules that are coming in.

I have a feeling Laporte and Fred were planned for summer buys but they've had to get on with it just in case the new rules don't allow them to spend another gazillion.

Kompany needs to be replaced, and Mangala will leave. I don't see the problem. In the summer they let go of 3 full backs and replaced them with 3 full backs. No other team has a defence with more potential than City. Mendy, Stones, Laporte, Walker.

Apparently he's from the area
Newcastle aren't that much of a big team under Mike Ashley
West Brom are a win away from getting out of the relegation zone

I dare say the lack of English success in international football has been the reliance of White, Middle class managers and their mindsets of being less likely to select working class BME players, the amount who went under the radar is obscene - Andy Cole, Ian Wright, Les Ferdinand, Chris Powell. All far fewer caps than their talents warranted.

Regards,

Rt Hon Elrick Ambogou

Except now the choice's between Pickford, Butland, Forster, and maybe Pope

>City are somewhat banic buying because of the supposed new FFP rules that are coming in.
they just signed like 12 kids from new york and whatever lol

they're all gonna be sold for like £5m each and it'll offset any transfer

Gunn should unironically start, Pickford and Butland have been shocking

>West Ham won us the World Cup in 1966 with Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters
>West Ham will win us the World Cup in 2018 by ending Joe Hart's career
Are they the most based club in England?

Forster is absolute shite.

Pickford gave a decent showing of himself in the last international break but he hasn't been great since then either.

Granted I haven't watch much of either club but the impression I got is that West Brom have a pair of decent strikers that are getting no service while Newcaslte have shit strikers but a decent midfield.

Would've thought the latter would be a more appealing option where he'd be more likely to get goals.

You are a fool if you believe City will remain at the top of English football for much longer. Sky sports won't allow it.

City will remain a big club until the middle east runs out of oil.

>thinking sky aren't going to be toppled by amazon who city have already cosied up to

sports television will never be this good again

Pickford kept clean sheets against Brazil and Germany. Granted they were in friendlies, but who was the last England goalkeeper to do anything even that impressive? So he should be first choice. Unless Butland plays incredibly well until the end of the season, then maybe he should get it. I don't think the discussion should be between anyone other than those two.

You see that 'accident' that happened to Sane? Be prepared for a lot more of them.

Where do the shit rumours that the OP is using come from? Its written like some really cringe rip off of Squires

>that Rodgers/Sterling BEEF
THESE GUYS REALLY DONT LIKE EACH OTHER

>Forster STILL can't get respect

What the fuck does he have to do? He left Celtic (when he should have defintely have been No1) but now what? Its not his fault Southampton are never going to sell him for a ridiculous amount of money.

You have 10 seconds to explain why England's starting XI at the WC should be anything other than this.

- 3 CBs so there's less chance of getting beat when we eventually face a big team
- no wingers because we have no one for the left side, but the wing-backs are solid and good at attacking

>Cahill
>Rose
>Alli
>Wilshere

Thought the same. Squires is awful in its own right as well

Didn't he have the lowest save % in the league last season or something? Face it, he's finished. He was good a while back and should have started for England at the last WC but he's past his prime and plays for a side near the bottom of the table.

what are the preferred meme arrow names for aubameyang? no doubt there will be plenty of chances to use them.

>Alli in midfield
>Rose, despite him barely playing
>Cahill

Pretty sure >Obamayang is fairly used

I know people seem to hate him (probably ABUs) but Philbert Jones has been fantastic this season. Would take him over either of those.

>obama

It's basically a budget Man City. Wilshere = Silva. Alli = KDB. Dier = Fernandinho. Sterling = Sterling. Kane and Vardy = Aguero and Jesus.

Now we just need Pep to become part-time manager..

Squires is the epitomy of neo-Sup Forums

Sane's out for 6 weeks.

Back for this weekend then

>Implying City are that good

Bertrand is a no. Shaw doesn't offer enough in attack, don't think he's ever got an assist in his life.

Cahill is the most experienced and still pretty good. I'm a Chelsea fan and he's underrated. Yeah he may not be good enough to start consistently for Chelsea, but England is a different matter. Stones is the future so he should start, even if he isn't the finished product yet.

Are you allowed in Britain to randomly show up to a Man City training session and drug text the squad? Or is there a law against that?

It was an unfortuantely timed tackle la' nothing more

England's back 5 shall be

Bertrand - Jones - Dier - Stones - Walker

>Dier in defence
bad meme

Just part and parcel of the English game La

It's a good way to make some fast cash.

Couldn't agree more.

IS doggo dead?

hell be fine

Based husky testing out a new chew toy

yeah but it'll be fine

Pep has only used Aguero and Jesus as strikers in a 3-5-2 early in the season which didn't work very well. Most of the time he uses 3 up front and prefers those 3 to be able to play across the entirety of the front line (hence why he prefers Jesus over Aguero). The only way England could do something like that would be with Sterling-Vardy-Rashford and that takes out their best striker in Kane.

As for the defence, I'd take out Cahill and put in Jones and replace Stones with Maguire if Pebbles doesn't get back to his pre-injury form.

The tactical nuances of such a game are too advanced for ur non world cup having brain to comprehend

I hope they shot that dog dead
