Girls then were girls. They knew their place. All of them. All women were brought up to believe they would be swept off their feet by a man. Cosmetic surgery was only for rich older women and only consisted of primitive nose-jobs and face lifts. The super pretty ones were (one in a hundred) were able to pick and choose.
Most girls would let you feel them up and there was no such thing as sexual assault unless a woman was raped by someone they abhorred. But sex with any girl was almost a betrothal. Any girl who got pregnant was ostracized by their entire family so they always had to marry the guy who fucked them. But people fooled around. A lot of girls allowed the guy to fuck them in the ass to retain their hymen for marriage. Virginity was still considered an honorable expectation for all marriages until around the mid-80s when divorces became more common. Prior to the 80s it was usually celebrities who got divorced. If a civilian got divorced they usually sought an annulment from the Catholic Church to allow them to remarry some day. Marriage outside of the church was usually reserved for those who had no other alternative.
Finding a condom was almost as hard as finding a woman to fuck. The hookers all had gonorrhea or worse because there was no need to be checked by a doctor. Condom vending machines in public toilets was the only way to go since pharmacists were a risk (they knew you and your family).
Pornography was shitty and nasty. Polaroid cameras and home-developed 8mm film was the only way to create it.
Most kids discovered sex through a relative or were molested. Pretty much everyone got molested back then. It's strange how society doesn't discuss this today. Oral Sex was certainly a possibility but was considered disgusting by almost all girls.
