I went to McDonald's today and got a Filet-O-Fish combo with a bacon cheeseburger on the side...

I went to McDonald's today and got a Filet-O-Fish combo with a bacon cheeseburger on the side. I was eating it in my vehicle in the parking lot and listening to an audiobook when I glanced up and saw the McDonald's worker I ordered outside having a cigarette.

She waved at me and I nodded and had to wait 7 minutes before she went back inside and I could eat in comfort again. I don't think that employees should be bothering or even trying to socialize with customers outside of the McDonald's restaurant or drive through, but that is another story.

I went to McDonald's for dinner tonight and got a McChicken combo with a bacon cheeseburger on the side. As I was driving to the second window the same girl was still working. She was acting somewhat obsequious and attempting small talk when she asked, 'why don't you come eat inside instead of in the parking lot'.

That really bothered me for many reasons. First of all, I don't want my routine or actions to be tracked by a fast food employee. Secondly, she should not try to tell me how I should live my life. I do not want to eat inside because I find it less comfortable and would much rather be inside my vehicle listening to an audiobook and enjoying myself and my privacy.

Overall, I think it was very unprofessional to bring this up. I should have a clean slate with each drive through visit, not have to get the third degree because I committed some sort of faux pas. Which I don't think I did, because I often see people eating in fast food parking lots. How does she know I am not busy going to work or somewhere in a rush?

How do you feel about eating in your vehicle in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant versus eating inside the restaurant?

stale copy pasta

Why can't into atheism??

user, I too do not like eating inside and do not want bothered or judged for my messy food habits. I feel like parking lots should have more barriers like shrubs so people can park n eat in peace.

Indulging myself in this, once 1 just this ONE time...
So you mean to tell me that you are extremely displeased with a fast food employee, another person, asking you a simple question. I see that you might like to eat alone, I am the same way sometimes at the end of the day I would not like to be bothered when I sit down to enjoy my meal, I have my routine sure. And yes asking a person why they act a certain way isn’t always appropriate and certainly not a first of the things I might ask if I am small talking, but you seriously cannot be that close minded as to not consider the fact that people are social and maybe she was trying to have a quick and friendly conversation, being a little curious. Maybe she wanted to know what you do, right, getting to know people, it’s a very normal thing that you a very antisocial and close minded person are failing to grasp. Or maybe there is another side to you I did not read through the lines. Talk and explain yourself I want to understand how you think.

This
Kek I think honestly though that you should hold the same empathy for her as you desire for her to have for you. Maybe she’s socially depraved? Or maybe she was flirting with you?? Which is probably more likely. That being said there’s probably an extensive amount of rationales regarding why she did what she did and I don’t think it’s the job of McDonald’s to police small talk and interactions of that. Maybe during training make people more conscious of the issue but still, you can just take the situation with a grain of salt and realize it’s one of many interactions with people that you’ll have in your life from which you need not derive any meaning because it’s retrospectively irrelevant. That is, unless you have some psychological weakness and attach yourself to such interactions and let them affect you so deeply.

Never is it okay to bother a stranger who is not otherwise engaged in a social behavior.

You're telling me you're eating a Combo (fish/chicken, fries, drink) + bacon cheeseburger? Is that all or do you get like pies or a sundae on the side?

If this is your only worry you need to beat your meat more.

Ok by what standards though, you can’t impose your standards onto others, well I suppose you can because it’s your right, but certainly you can’t expect your outcome. Be a little analytical think outside the box a little bit, but then again that’s me telling you what you should do, see that’s the thing, in the end we all think and act the way we want to and sometimes we try to be unrealistic and think that others should think and act the same as we do when in reality we are all soo different yet so much alike. Tolstoy I remember his book, or pieces of it, first page first sentence “happy families are all alike unhappy families are unhappy in their own way.” So much human struggle in each of us, so many shoes of varying sizes, shapes, colors, all traveling through the sands of time, every road a road less traveled on, no one steps in other ones path for too long... it’s the beauty of this, the patterns of human behavior in a magnitude of different unique styles of life living. Memories, biology, anatomy, environmental factors shaping each and every creature on this planet. I want to know and understand every part of this ecosystem and more, go deep into the cosmos and explore and then get really focused, real tiny and understand the smallest details of this dazzling system. Explore my man, read, travel, create, socialize, break out of that bubble, trust me it will lead to a wonderful experiences.

Fillet 'O Autism

I would not say that, maybe antisocial, coming off as harsh. I think maybe either a rough childhood or strict father, maybe a religious aspect is playing a role here to, just a hunch. Does he turn off the car? I mean he must be wearing a watch maybe not a smart watch, somehow he knew it’s 7 minutes, now if he is eating and playing around with his phone how would he notice her? I mean he stopped completely when she engaged him, something about her maybe? I don’t think he has a hatred for women more so he tries to be strict towards them, seems like a person who would be overly expressive and noticing of negative or positive female behavior especially towards himself, would complain about it on a greater scale than any other reasonably average person. I think maybe early 30’s to late maybe mid 40’s.
