Intolerance is a long winded bore, no one wants to see a 4 hour silent movie about dw giffith trying to defend himself against being called a racist, and this was at a time when silent movies and racism were the norm
sunrise- don't know it
Ivan the Terrible - meh
Earth- don't know it
Citizen Kane - really good film but i went to film school and had it beaten into my skull that this was the greatest movie ever made and dissected it a thousand times and can no longer enjoy it
The Passion of Joan of Arc - didnt see it
Napoleon - don't know it
The Third Man - orson wells most under rated film
Bicycle Thief - great film, masterpiece

ur a idiot what about lord of the ring then or space jam

well lord of the rings was made in middle earth, i don't know what calendar they use, but space jam was a documentary made about intergalactic basketball in the 1990's so also doesnt count to this thread of pre 1950 films.

Good Burger

Non-pretentious: Jezebel

Anyone watched the birth of a nation?

The only silent film I've ever watched was Nosferatu.

Had to watch it in film class. Boring by most standards, but somewhat interesting with a prof explaining it and pointing out later films that were influenced by it and standards it set. Watching it on your own would be pretty dull.

bella Lugosi's classic "white zomie"

Kon Tiki is a fucking awesome documentary from '49. When did documentaries become world-class faggotry?
