Never sing my music again

>Never sing my music again.
>Not here, not anywhere.
>Do you understand?
>Never again.
>My music is for Phoenix.
>Only she can sing it.
>Anyone else who tries, dies!

>GRIFFITH

is this what miura come to?

Phantom got literally cucked by the fat satan man

What's with PhantonPosting lately? Is it just one guy?

Anyway the movies is great

Just like Griffith got cucked by Guts.

Really makes your brain think.

GATTSU

Ohh Winslow you're such a goof.

I don't know but I always secretly hope they turn into musical threads. it's so lonely being a musical fan :(

Top five film musicals, go

Don't put trust in Swan...he's the devil

GRIFFITSUUUUUUUUUU

When I first saw that film as kid it creeped me out and gave me nightmares.

Saw it again a few years back, felt exactly the same way.

Theres just something about that 70s tackiness that I react to.

Beef did nothing wrong

just five is too hard, but I think leaving any of these out of your own personal canon is a huge mistake:

>West Side Story
>Cabaret
>Singin' In The Rain
>Top Hat
>The Music Man

Swap Singin' in the Rain for A Hard Day's Night and Top Hat for OP and I agree.

really? a 70s glam pastiche (that doesn't take itself seriously) --- one of the greatest of all time? Sorry dude but I can't abide by that.

The best musicals push the art form forward. I would probably add Carousel and Oklahoma to my list.

>really? a 70s glam pastiche (that doesn't take itself seriously) --- one of the greatest of all time?
All the reasons you claim it isn't one of the best are reasons I claim it is.

Have you seen Shock Treatment? I really want to see Shock Treatment.

>Les Miserables
>The Prince of Egypt
>Parade
>Little Shop of Horrors
>Into the Woods

Snoopy: The Musical is really good too.

I have not. Social commentary looks interesting

that too I guess. but mostly because Nellfu is in it :3

Shock Treatment might've been OK if it didn't have Rocky Horror before it, though...
In our world that's facing more of a reality-TV apocalypse rather than a Mad Max one, it sure seems prescient, though...

>Griffith posting becomes a thing

You just have to start a musical thread.

Musical threads are probably the best discussion Sup Forums ever has, they just aren't made often.

On the subject of musical, as I the only one who thought the new beauty and the beast movie was a mess

musicals are my thing, my friends know me as "the musical guy," but even that looked way too bland for me to get excited about.

The grim brown cinematography, cgi beast, bland designs of the cutlery people and completely unexceptional singing -- it all looked like a giant waste.

I will fuck the capacity for Singin' in the Rain back into you.

Femto did nothing wrong

>Nothing from Webber
Supreme contrarian pleb

>JELLICLE CATS AT THE JELLICLE BABAABABALBABJELLICLEBALLLLALABBALLABJELLYLYLLYL
>OH WAS THERE EVER A CAT SO CLEVER AS MAGICAL MR MESTOPSHPSHPSHHPPHHSHP

>better than ANYthing I posted

>"The best musicals push the art form forward."
>the first postmodern film musical doesn't push the art forward
Uh...

HAHA BERSERK LOL IT LOOK LIKE GRIFFITH YOU GUYS IT HIM!!

>yfw shlocky b movie is the best musical of all time

but muh hamilton

fuck you Cats is beautiful

Fun Home is better than Hamilton. Fun Home should've won a Pulitzer too.

>really? a 70s glam pastiche (that doesn't take itself seriously) --- one of the greatest of all time?
Yeah, RHPS is the best musical of all time.

I WaS N0T MySElF LasT NIgHT

COULDN'T SET IT RIGHT WITH APOLOGIES OR FLOWERRRRRRRRRRRRRRS
OUT OF PLACE AS A CRYIN CLOWN THAT COULD ONLY FROWN AND THE SHOW WENT ON FOR HOURRRRRRRS

Hedwig is better transkino

>Jessica Harper's dance moves

PHOENIX A CUTE

DUDE SEX LMAO

I always secretly hope they actually are Phantom of the Paradise threads, nope, just Berserk because the lazy ass Jap who makes that comic just stole the design of the mask.

aND as I lOST conTROL I swore I'd sell my SOUL for 1 LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOve who would stand by me and bring me back the jOY OF LAUGHTEEEEEEER

>leather suit, cape and helmet. raspy breathing and a control console on the chest with red and blue buttons

Has George ever had an original idea?

It's not like we can't talk about the movie while the kids shitpost.

Repo The Genetic Opera
A Muppet Christmas Carol
Jesus Christ Superstar
South Park: The Movie
The Prince of Egypt

please tell me this is bait.

since nothing is happening ITT I'm gonna discuss my idea for a remake

>Phoenix (Marina Diamandis) is Winslow's ex, she breaks up with him (even though she's still in love with him, Special To Me is about him) because he's too focused on his music/playwrighting and won't get a steady job
>The break up sends Winslow (Adam Driver) makes him feel depressed and guilty, but inspires him to write Faust
>Swan (Dane DeHaan) is mostly the same, but his plans for the theater are a lot like Mok's plans in Rock & Rule

bump
