3 Super Bowl Losses take away his GOAT status right?

3 Super Bowl Losses take away his GOAT status right?

It sullies his record but going to eight Super Bowls is still insane.

IMO he should have retired after LI to preserve his legacy.

No. Imo it's better to lose in the Super Bowl than lose in the conference finals, or earlier in the playoffs as every other QB has done

Not when your in a baby division

>Plays with hand all sorts of fucked up.
>Loses Cook for whole game.
>Butler benched for debauchery
I'd say he gets a pass. The difference between Pats and Eagles, Pats will be back next year and Eagles won't. The way the Eagles were man handled by Seattle, just shows they have a few chinks in their armor.

they made it to the finals with the chinks

whats your point

He'd have won if Sean Lee was playing.

How could he have guessed that their defense would shit the bed

Shut the fuck up before we annex you.

Come at me bro.

kind of surprised at how much of this is true, even as someone who doesn't care for brady. Bill is the real goat

What did defensive mastermind Bill Belichick mean by this?

Hmm, that's kind of similar to the team All Time Defensive Genius Bill Belichick put together in 2011
Damn, why is Brady such a choker in big games

Only real countries can post on here, fuck off

Wow, I never realized how shitty Brady is.
Check this out for comparison: The 1989 and 1990 49ers. Joe Montana truely is the greatest quaterback to ever play the game

Nice implications.
For everyone else, check the points against category, one column to the left. the average of the other 7 teams this year is 375.7 points against; 423 in the 2011 example. This means that in this company, the Pats give up 21.2% LESS points than average in 2017l 19.1% in 2011. Those numbers are fuckhuge.
What's also interesting is the pats don't give up many more plays than other teams, nor first downs, though in 2011 they gave up a bunch, meaning gaining a first down against new england was likely the least valuable first down you could imagine (closer to 10 yards)
In each year, they had a lower percentage of drives ending in offensive scores. (30.2% and 32.6%). Hell even this year, the pats only gave up 6 rushing TDs. Their main weakness seems to be the passing game.

So no, new england's defense isn't as bad as their yards allowed looks. It truly is the "bend but don't break" meme.

also
>comparing specifics between two different generations

Best division in the NFL since realignment. All that means is they would have done it in every other division

...

>best division

How many Owls have Dolphins, Jets or Bills made it to in the Bledsoe/Brady era?

I unironically do not blame the Pats D. The game was an offensive shootout from the get go and it was gonna come down to whose offense could keep it up. When it mattered most the Pats choked it with that strip.

>Half of the bottom 8 teams had winning records
>4 of the top 7 don't make playoffs
Biggest pleb statistic of all

None because the pats have buried them. Any "free win" the pats get results in a loss for the AFC East in pic related, so that means either the pats would dominate every other division, the other three aren't that bad, or a combination of the two

Imagine believing this unironically

No doubt. Dude's a bum.

The AFC in general is shit. This is unironically tainted.

>man with more rings than your entire franchise
>not the GOAT

His point is that next year will have actually good teams in the playoffs and not meme teams like the rams and the Vikings

Imagine having an opinion that can be immediately debunked by a basic bitch Google search and elementary math
Add those records up and see which conference has the better record. Unless youre 8 or black it shouldn't be too hard

This

You don't speak unless spoken to

Hardly. He thew for 500 yards and 3 TD's. He's still great and that is without a dominant WR. Imagine what he'd be able to do with Rice in his prime.

>Losing in early rounds is better than losing the superb owl
>Sup Forums logic

What kinda stupid question is that?
Fuck no

Did he lose on purpose so people would forget about him making out with his kid

They're still booty bothered about getting owned season after season and seeing brady at the super bowl every other year (8/17 that's including the year he got injured in week 1).
No one will ever match his rate of 50% super bowl appearances, and it's more likely the nfl will fold or your team will relocate before they make to 8 super bowl lmao

Damn dude, you got btfo'd hard

t. Bootyblasted Pats fag

The Patriots Scoring Defense in years they won the Super Bowl

2001: 6th
2003: 1st
2004: 2nd
2014: 8th
2016: 1st

Brady is a defense babby, and as shown sunday he cant win unless his defense carries him

The fix the fix was in. They brought in Eli to do the Owl commercials so that Eli would jinx Brady. Eli and the Giants are fucking Kryptonite to the Pats so the NFL had him do the commercials which aired all through the Owl to hex Brady. NFL is a joke.

>Vikings
>Meme Team
Depending on if we get a good QB this go around, we'll probably be at the NFC championship again, for once.

We'll probably lose just as badly but that's because we always choke.

Eli was there last year too

missed FG and PAT is 4 points off the board and they didn't punt a single time
if you ran brady's stat line past any analyst before the game they would have said NE probably won by 20
PHI was better on third downs and more importantly, played to win
>unless his defense carries him
welcome to football.. peyton was average in his first win and dismal in the second

>he cant win unless his defense carries him
I think 2000 Rams are the only team ever to win a Super Bowl with a legit bottom tier defense

quality Iceland post

Has open receivers the whole game, no pressure on him till literally that last drive lol.

>le trump team XD LOL

kill yourself

>would litterally be the LeBron of QBs if Pete Caroll ran the ball and if Kyle Shanahan wasn't job hunting

In his 8th super bowl, where he played great? No, not a chance.

>Brady is a defense babby,
He threw for 500 yards and had 3 TDs. We've seen defense babbys in the Super Bowl before. Grossman for the Bears. Eli both times with the Giants. Or Peyton with the Broncos. This wasn't one of those times.

>unless his defense carries him
The defense gave up 41 points. They were terrible. The defense didn't need to "carry" anyone, they just needed to not be garbage. They could have given up 30 points, which is bad for any NFL defense, and still would have won won that game.

>I don't blame the defense
>game was a shootout
What meme is this?

>I unironically do not blame the Pats D.
Then you're an idiot. You give up 41 points in a game, you lose. If your offense is trash then fine, maybe it's not the defense's fault, they were tired. But if your offense scores 33 points, and the defense gives up 41, then it's the defense's fault. The defense absolutely shit the bed.

>to be the best out of 32 teams half of your team needs to be pretty good
WOW

>Be Patriots D
>Your Goat QB can only score 3 points for an entire half
>On the field for an entire half, give up 21 to the reigning MVP
>Second half starts
>Keep the reining MVP, Julio Jones, and #1 Offense to just 7 points for the entire second half
>Tom Brady finally comes alive on the 4th Quarter
>Patriots win the game
>TOM BRADY IS THE GOAT, HE CARRIES HIS ENTIRE TEAM.

>detoilet hired this DC

>pats score 33 pts
>blame brady

People argue that LeBron is not GOAT because MJ has a better finals record, even though he's been to the finals more often than MJ. By that same argument, Tom Brady isn't GOAT if we use that same metric.

DESU though, I find that argument bullshit. I fucking hate Tom Brady, but I will concede he's GOAT after his SB performance. Brady almost won despite Bill's fuck up of not having Butler in the game and Matt Patricia's inability to scheme against the RPO.

>3 Super Bowl Losses take away his GOAT status right?
Getting to superbowls just adds to his status. Getting to fucking 8 and winning 8 AFC championships is crazy.

>The way the Eagles were man handled by Seattle
This is revisionist history. Seattle in no way man handled Philadelphia. Eagles kept making stupid mistakes and were in the fucking game until the 4th quarter despite said mistakes.

>man handled by seattle
the pats loss to the dolphins was much worse fagboy

you lose all the superbowls you don't get to-wayne gretzky

>People argue that LeBron is not GOAT because MJ has a better finals record, even though he's been to the finals more often than MJ. By that same argument, Tom Brady isn't GOAT if we use that same metric.

It's completely different. Lebron has consistently made it out of a garbage East, I think he's on 8 in a row. Brady competes in the AFC which at least throws up a contender and even a champion every now and then.

Please, the AFC is a shitshow and has been for the last few decades.

If Carroll and Quinn ran the ball properly Brady could EASILY be 3-5 right now in owls.

He's not as GOAT as it seems.

Good point, but at the same time, they play in a joke of a division. You had the Jets who were decent for like 3-4 years and that's about it. Playing weaker division opponents is what allowed them to get the #1 or #2 seed for so many seasons, saving them some wear and tear of having to play in the WC round, and it gave them home-field advantage for most of the AFCCGs they've appeared in.

Brady averages 2.33 post season wins per year (first round bye counts as a win)

Montana averages 2 post season wins per year (doesn't include his 1991 and 1992 season as he played combined 1 game)

How many super bowl appearances do you losers have, huh? Oh that's right, you have zero. You've never even been to a super bowl in your lives and you have the audacity to criticize a man that is one of the top 3 players of alltime? Shut your ingrate fucking mouths.

>Please, the AFC is a shitshow and has been for the last few decades.
Broncos, Steelers, and Colts all have Super Bowl wins

>Good point, but at the same time, they play in a joke of a division
True. The AFC East is absolute garbage. But at the same time, New England's main AFC rivals have come from absolute garbage divisions as well. The AFC South is utter trash, the AFC North has been the Steelers playground except for that one Ravens season. There's no denying that the past 15 years or so in the AFC has been nothing but Brady, Roethlisberger, and Manning. But those four teams have been terrific, Brady had had real competition and making it to the SB regardless is actually worthy of respect. Not like Lebron stomping all over the "team basketball" scrubs who inevitably get assembled year after year

>Looks at flag
Ah, that makes sense.

>meme teams in playoffs
>ie. Patriots

It’s not that he has a worse record in finals than MJ, it’s simply that he has only won 3 times compared to Jordan’s six. Unlike Brady, who has won more than Montana despite having more SB losses, which still means he played more Owls.

>afc is a shitshow
see if the afc is a shitshow the nfc is negro aborted fetus covered in feces
>in b4 he's too retarded to math

Fair enough. As great as he's been, this year and the Cavs huge slide mid-season shows he can't carry the team by himself anymore. Jordan had a better team around him though, and had way better coaches. The only good coach he's ever had is Erik Spoelstra, with David Blatt who he ran out behind him.

LeBron did it to himself though, by holding his teams hostage and forcing the FO to make some bad personnel decisions. Lue is not a good HC, but he was handpicked by LeBron. They also had a great GM in Griffin, but Gilbert didn't re-sign him, which was a mistake. Kyrie Irving was smart to jump ship when he did.

>The game was an offensive shootout from the get go and it was gonna come down to whose offense could keep it up.

So maybe...

Hang on here, just listen...

Maybe...

The Patriots defense could have stopped it from becoming a shootout.

>ordan had a better team around him though, and had way better coaches. The only good coach he's ever had is Erik Spoelstra, with David Blatt who he ran out behind him.
>LeBron did it to himself though, by holding his teams hostage and forcing the FO to make some bad personnel decisions. Lue is not a good HC, but he was handpicked by LeBron

Yes, this is exactly it. Lebron is his own worst enemy here. Even Jordan, with his legendary over-inflated ego, was willing to defer to his coach. Lebron just can't do that. Jordan is the guy who was cut by his high school team and developed a permanent chip on his shoulder. Lebron is the guy whose high school team was sponsored by shoe companies desperate to sign him. That's the difference. If you gave Lebron the same mentality as Jordan, then Lebron would have gone to San Antonio in 2009-10, he'd have 6 or 7 rings, and we'd all be talking about him as the best ever.

Who's goal is it to not be a shootout?

The thought of LeBron with Pop makes me fucking wet, even though I know it would never work out. As much as he respects Pop, I really don't think he could handle being coached by him, or the fact that he wouldn't have much say in what Pop or Buford do with their personnel. He would get so much shit for playing how he plays right now. LeBron's defense is pretty bad right now, and Pop doesn't put up with sandbagging, especially on defense, but in return, he's really great at managing your minutes and makes sure you get plenty of rest, and will not rush you back from injury.

>going to eight Super Bowls is still insane.
If only the rest of the AFC gets its act together

Take out the Patriots and see what that chart looks like. The pats haven't had real divisional competition in 10 years.

>You give up 41 points in a game, you lose.
Not if Brady leads the offense to more than just three TDs. They settled for field goals 4 times and turned it over on offense twice. All on Brady

>have the easiest roads to the Lombardi in 2007, 2010, 2015, and 2017
>shit the bed each and every time
GOAT status: revoked

no he doesnt hahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahhhhhhhhhhahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahaa >go stillers

Saints defense was pretty shit the year they won

and he's 2 meme catches and a shitty decision to bench the best cb on the team away from being 8-0

they have a better record outside of the division than in it

Basketball is a more individual driven sport. No football player can singlehandedly win a game, you need a full team to compete. Really you can't even compare football and basketball

And he’s three missed field goals and two handoffs from being 0-8. Your point?

>shit
>headhunting

kys

They're literally going to be there again next year. Who the fuck is gonna stop them, Steelers? Chiefs? Don't make me laugh.

Steelers

they're a joke and will never beat the Pats as long as Tomlin is the head coach

Can't be the best if you can't be the rest.

>the eternal bridesmaid
The jags have a better chance and they won't pull it off either

i dont follow nfl much but i know they had the majority of their sicks cunts like edleman(sp)? out all season, they getting them all back?

He'll retire 7-3 in superbowls so no, not even close

Brady also doesn't have a losing record in world championships

Edelman is coming back, Hightower too but he's probably going to blow something up again. Also Malcolm Mitchell and I think their first round pick this year was out too.
