Well, if you don't want to press charges what the fuck do you want people to do about it?

She really wanted the counselor to follow her down the hallway. Like he was going to magically stop her from killing herself.

Literally all he had to do was acknowledge that she wasn't mentally sound and talk it through with her, notifying someone that she was feeling suicidal and acting like a counselor should. He was acting like a police officer instead, and disregarded what was going on in her head

what a dumb looking cunt, same fish mouth in every photo

drama queen

She actually thought Brice would go to jail for his entire life. For simple non violent surprise sex.

I almost turn gay for him. No homo.

>Literally all he had to do was acknowledge that she wasn't mentally sound and talk it through with her, notifying someone that she was feeling suicidal and acting like a counselor should.
You don't get how counseling or psychology works, do you? If the person doesn't straight tell you you can't do shit you fucking idiot.

> irl they are all between 20 and 26

>mfw I let a student calming to be raped with all the red flags of a suicide risk walk out of my office and do nothing about it

he's definitely gonna lose his job in season 2. wonder if the school district will hang his ass out to dry in the lawsuit.

He did everything right, too many boys are accused of rape by Whitney little "cum dumpsters"

>season 2

There is no season two and there shouldn't be. Season 1 was shit enough, biggest waste of my time and I'm on Sup Forums 24/7

>I've been raped.
>You wanna press charges?
>No...
>Fuck out of my office.

If she could be straight up and rational about it, she wouldn't need fucking help.

I didn't sympathize with her, I didn't feel like I was supposed to, but it's pretty fucking clear that the counselor neglected her completely.

Who's the knockout on OP?

I don't think you're supposed to sympathize. It's apparent to anyone not in highschool that she should have acted differently.

I can understand a high schooler feeling a close connection to the story though. Not that crazy shit like getting raped happens to everyone, but I remember at times feeling like everything went wrong because of 1 or 2 events that could have changed everything.

It definitely appeals to the target audience. Maybe it'll make high schoolers better people in general.

>safe, loveable sub-normie best friend who wants to be with her
>obviously very compatible
>decides to fuck the douchebag mega Chad Thundercock instead
>surprised he's a major douchebag
>blames everyone except herself
>kills herself to further scar the poor sub-normie who just wanted a gf qt3.14

This is why fembots don't exist and why roasties are cancer.

Didn't Chad Thundercock essentially force her into sex though? I mean at that point in the story she's supposed to be far enough gone that she's not capable of resisting.

>asking a depressed suicide risk to think rationally
kek

Are they doing a second season ? The last episode ended with a lot of shit yet to reach a conclusion wtf

>hey a female student just told me she was raped and threw up tons of red flags for suicide then walked out
>welp
>better return that call

Why the fuck did Alex do it?

>suicide kid who is also being crushed with guilty
>WHY DID HE SHOT HIMSELF THOUGH

>Help! Help! I've been raped!
>Well what should we do about it? The most obvious solution would be to contact the police. With your testimony, he could face serious criminal charges.
>Na, let's not do that.

Well what the fuck is the counselor supposed to do at that point? If she's not willing to press charges than obviously being raped didn't bother her all that much. Without her testimony, a case won't go anywhere so contacting the police would be pointless.

BASED BRYCE

Society is all utterly fucked up

Thats what you should get from this, everything is dysfunctional

Absolutely this.

Society is dysfunctional because our society has become full of weak willed faggots who think life in a first world country is bad enough to prefer suicide.

It was straight up rape, don't let any fucking creepy neckbeards on Sup Forums try to misconstrue it because that's the only way the sperglords manage to get pussy.

At least pretend to give a fuck instead of telling her to get over it?

>I just want it all to stop
>Want what to stop?
>Life, everything

He has an obligation to contact someone in this kind of situation.

I think everyone is missing that. He may not be able to do anything about the rape, but she was clearly suicidal and you just don't let someone like that just walk away.

Give her attention.

It's more than that, you have all these nonsensical views like "free love", integration of the races/sexes, the state being the only allowed authority figure, rabid marxist social engineers running things, along with too many fucking pussies.

This girl should not be in a spot where she is capable of being raped, because traditionally she should not be alone with a man without a chaperone

where did Alex get a gun tho? his dad? i have to believe a cop would take better care of that shit.
we only saw Justin, Jessica, and school shooter with guns

Got it. I don't like watching scenes like that and my girlfriend had the volume on low while I was making some food so I wasn't sure what happened.

You might have some kind of empathy disorder, user. Just thought you should know.

What mobie is this?

Probably knows the combination to the gun safe. Kids find that shit out

Hot tub scene gave me a stiffy. Not gonna lie

13 reasons to kys

when the parental advisory disclaimer shows up at the beginning you know based bryce gonna crush some ass

a school counselor or even just a teacher is obligated to do something if a kid tells them that stuff

Except that's completely not true. Amazing how self-assured a moron like you can be, huh? That's not how counseling/therapy/psychiatry works at all. It isn't robotic, not a formula of absolutes, there is a large human element involved.

When there are obvious (and in this case extremely obvious) red flags, your duty is to try to understand and make sure you know what's going on before you just completely brush it off and pretend you didn't hear it. It was entirely negligent.

If you had actually paid attention anyway, he knows he was wrong because he tries to lie and hide that they ever even had the conversation until confronted at the end by Clay.

>and I'm on Sup Forums 24/7

Well there you have it. You would be completely apathetic to most of what the show covers since your edgy ass spends all day on one of the biggest edge circlejerks on the internet

Fuck how self-unaware can one person be

>I remember at times feeling like everything went wrong because of 1 or 2 events that could have changed everything

That's one of the main goddamn points user

...

this place is a fucking cesspool, of course you have no empathy

Netflix decided to add the rape at the end. In the original story all brice did was feel her and grope her under her underwear.

They decided to change the story from that of what a messed up girl goes through before she kills herself to a story of "cyber" bullying and fratbro rape.

And the gore at the end wasn't in the book either; she just downs a bunch of pills.

I was hoping for more girl on girl bullying, but at least bryce made the show somewhat entertaining

She was raped (or sexually assaulted, whatever the fuck you want to call it). She wasn't thinking properly. Therefore, the therapist should have acted like a therapist, not a member of the criminal justice system. He should have consoled her and done more, because if she was mentally sound, she wouldn't need therapy in the first place. That being said, he was right to say he can't promise that Bryce would go to jail or that she wouldn't have to face him, because she still might have had to. (And I'm fine with that; I believe in the assumption of innocence, even for accused rapists.) That being said, the therapist doesn't need to assume innocence. He needed to give her counseling, that's his job description after all.

I was overall not impressed with the show. It's just pretentious shit that people are going to say is "deep" and "woke" and use as "proof" to push an agenda that weakens the rights of the accused. It really kind of ground my gears at the end when it was sort of advocating for that. I'm all for suicide awareness, but that's been done in far better ways than this show.

It was a conscious decision to make those scenes as confronting and uncomfortable as possible to avoid romanticising it

Not from my experience.
>Mentioned that I had thoughts of suicide
>not that I would do it
>Counselor loses her shit
>asks how I would do it
>Tell her how I would do it if I did
>Counselor mistakes answering her question for legitimate ideation of suicide
>Threatens to call my parents or I can spend the weekend in a psychiatric facility
>Tell her to fuck off, police escorts me to a facility
>Tell the counselors at the facility that the lady blew everything out of proportion
>They let me go, like reasonable people
Still here, wow, not everyone who mentions suicide is actually going to do it

anybody got webms of this show?

This is completely wrong, what is much closer to the truth. Whilst reporting crime (or victimisation) is a grey area in psychology (and I can only speak to psychology, not counselling or psychiatry), assessing the risk of suicide in client (who has undergone a traumatic event) is definitely something that should have been done.

If this were a real case, the counselor would have been liable for a wrongful death suit.

Thanks friendo just started marathoning the first episode.

Is this a bigger shitshow than the OA?

No webm but heres the suicide scene

youtube.com/watch?v=RcJ03_VimX0

I've seen some fucked up shit but this was kinda difficult to watch

Nice post, tumblrette

The dance scene is in season 2.

RIP the best and only likable character in this show. Am I the only one to give a fuck about hannah?

Was she a minor? By law, all reports of sexual abuse with a minor must be reported to the police. It's a stupid law, that it is what it is.

I miss him so much ;-;

>girlfriend breaks up with me for chad or some shit
>feeling sad reach out to friend
>friend doesnt like talking to me so tells counselor im suicidal
>tell counselor im not and i need to take this exam really bad (ended up skipping it and having to drop calc)
>counselor makes me parents take me to get evaluated
>parents literally caling me a piece of shit and a pathetic waste of time
>get to evaluation and the ladies just make fun of my acne
wtf

I don't want to watch the show, how was she raped?

A white male commented how pretty her smile was.

Fuck I hope the actor is blacklisted from Hollywood for even agreeing to portray such a fiend.

WTF???
Hope the creepy fucker got hanged, ugh

She was in the hot tub with her underwear on, the rapist got in with her, she tried to get out but he pulled her back in and raped her.

>in a hot tub with friends
>friends leave
>rapist sneaks in while she isn't watching
>tries to hit on her
>she tries to get out, saying she has to go
>he grabs her and pulls her back
>she tries again to leave, clearly uncomfortable
>he pulls her back again and holds her down
>gropes her, pulls down her underwear
>She's struggling to get away
>he starts fucking her
>she's crying, tense and in visible pain
>eventually slackens, goes limp, staring blankly into space while he continues to rape her
>complete emotionless shell at this point
>camera lingers on her face for an uncomfortable length of time, then cuts to her walking home, soaking wet and dead inside

That sounds like straight-up rape, what the fuck was talking about

Never trust anyone who unironically says:
>sub-normie
>chad thundercock
>gf qt3.14
>fembots
>roasties

he was projecting his fears user

You haven't even watched the thing, and then gets in wild discussions based on descriptions on the chan. Classic Sup Forumser

what user is trying to say is watch the fucking show

t. sluts trying hard

every time i see this or think of it i get that weird feeling in my wrists, they did a good job with that looks remarkably realistic, especially with that second cut she made on her left arm. fuck.

is it just me or did anyone else think this guy was all made up by Clay, like some sort of imaginary friend. he represented like everything Clay wanted to be and you never really see anyone interact with him besides Clay

>ywn never have a chad friend help you get a qt gf
:(

Was he a cuck?

She could be a good pick as Ariel for The Little Mermaid.

>Stalker camera kid packs enough heat to shoot up a school in his case
>Cuckboy throws a loaded gun into his handbag after being choked out by his mom's new bull
>Series ends without showing either of them using said weaponry
>Instead closet homo kid is the one who shoots himself
Why did they do this?
>inb4 muh second season

probably to show that in america, fucking everyone has a gun and it almost always has negative consequences
>americans will deny this

Literally muh second season.

Why cant muricans let things end?

>second season
>13 reasons why I shot up the school
>Everyone dies in the first episode
How do they plan to make a whole season out of this? Will it just be a movie?

The overarching theme will probably be anti gun violence
>Alex's attempted suicide
>Tyler shooting up the school
>Jessica or justin will try and shoot bryce in revenge

I'd fuck her.

So are we just gonna forget about the part where Tony and some guys were beating the shit out of some dude?

season 2, user

holy hell, what kind of super advanced technology are you using to do all that projecting.

He explained that they were beating on the guy because he was picking on Tony's sister. Clay thought negatively at first.

>relax, I didn't mean it like that
some other emofag in this thread was complaining about a someone taking the mention of suicide too seriously. You faggots will cry about anything.
Counselor was right though, bitch learn to get over shit. 13 reasons should have been more like half a reason, which was bryce.

If she liked Clay why was she such a bitch to him all the time?

At the end Bryce is practicing baseball with that one guy and they mention his name.

Show for moody teenage girls. If you are an adult and watch this garbage you should be ashamed

I don't know man. Seeing that chick all passed out in the bathtub gave me a pretty stiff boner.

Why did she even go to dude's party in the first place; knowing he raped the other girl? Was it ever explained? Why didn't she just go to Clay's place to talk or vent about her feeling unwanted by her parents? I'm genuinely pissed about this

A lot of dumb decisions were made by every character in this show, which I just chalked up to high school kids being retarded in general.

and when the chick tells him to shut up in the library, and when SuicideGirlâ„¢ says they only ever hang out cause of him, and when the entire school grieves over him and starts hanging up drunk driving posters, and when alex mentions said drunk driving posters and his death, and when SuicideGirlâ„¢ tries to talk to betacuck about it and he tells her to stop making everything about him, and....
you're a fucking blind/deaf/ADD idiot.

Or when he asked the black cheerleader to move her car.

It's not about empathy it's about protocol
>You have notified that this girl is suicidal, what makes you think that?
>>A hunch
>uh, huh... well we have asked the girl in question and she said she is not suicidal at all and she has no idea where you would get that idea.
>>b-but she, uh, she looked really sad and-
>Just what the fuck kind of game are you playing here? Turn in your badge and gun, you're suspended indefinitely.

>counselors/psychiatrists have an employer-issued gun
Jesus Christ America.
