DEATH NOTE

GOD DAMN.

Stop watching what you're watching and put on Death Note. It's available streaming on Netflix.

I'm not an anime fan and this shit was fucking addictive.

37 episodes in total.

Death Note general.

...

I like Attack on Titan.

i think everyone here has already seen it bro

nah im not gonna watch this shit.

I used to like the manga.

I watched an episode or two way back.
>dude inquire names to kill people
Gay, I rather watch Dragonball

What the fuck is death note?

You're a bit late to the party, also

who remembers when it was originally airing, and the american production company that bought the rights sent cease and desist letters to the fansub groups right before the final episode

If you aren't kidding you should actually keep watching it, it gets good

>implying anime is good

i like the game

>2017
>desu noto
I think most people have outgrown the whole "le keikaku" meme and realized how stale the whole thing really is.

also, the manga was better in wrapping up the ending

Every wannabe weeb normie watched it like 10 fucking years ago bro.

fpbp

the mental chess game in the first story arc is like nothing i've ever seen.

antihero on the edge of being caught.

makes me think of dexter season 2 only more cerebral. like sherlock vs moriarty.

I hate Mello and Near. They ruined the entire series.

...

is this some hyper-meta shitpost

Mello was hardly in the series before he got BTFO

Hannibal was kind of like that too, at least early on when no one knows he's a killer

First episode takes long to get going, but episode 2 gets shit started.

Third arc was absolute crap and should never have been made.

the new game plus is bullshit hard and not fun at all but base game is a great mindless romp

suprised no one has mentioned it, but the trailer for the 2017 netflix movie looks awful.

The problem is that two detectives aren't as interesting as L. I liked Mello but he gets knocked off so L Jr aka Near solves the case with his evidence. Having someone like L but not L solve the case really undermines L as a character. I would've much preferred if Near died in a similar manner to L and it took a more reckless impulsive person like Mello to take the investigation the rest of the way

You guys act like fucking Chads when discussing anime

I just headcanon that L knew Near would take up the case and died on purpose to provide clues for him

I honestly thought it was awful and hated every character. I hate how Japan has to spend the first 10 minutes of a 20 minute episode on exposition of what happened the last episode.

I stopped watching once I realized you could cut out half the show and not lose anything

Death Note Anime aired ten years ago in the US.

but OP i'm not a weeaboo fggt

>L dies
>Totally not L replaces him

what were they thinking

We are chads, you fucking nerd.

The anime sucks though. Learn to read.

I don't even like anime but my brother kept urging me to watch it. I thought the premise was going to be stupid as fuck but it picks up fast and moves fast. It's like a cat and mouse game, think Sherlock Holmes meets the Departed.

Late to the party, I'm aware.

*spoilers

Shit should have ended after Light killed L.

Everything was shit after that, shit and retarded.

Does it have cute girls?
I only watch anime with cute girls.

>would've much preferred if Near died in a similar manner to L and it took a more reckless impulsive person like Mello to take the investigation the rest of the way

That's exactly what happens. Near spells it out for the audience that he couldn't have solved the case without Mello.

Yes

Kira did nothing wrong.

Non-canon. It ends after L dies. The epilogue is just to please normies.

>dexter

Misa can get a little annoying at times but overall she's REALLY cute. Like REALLY REALLY cute.

...

>I'm not an anime fan

I can tell. You're acting like one of the most popular animes ever is some obscure hidden gem that people on a website created to talk about anime have never heard of.

But why did you put the pic of the shitty live action movie?

If light wasn't such a gay homosexual he coulda just put death note on hold and fugged Misa for 6 months and not got caught.

Actually, I think the fact that L fails but then Light loses to Near the best possible outcome.

It gives Light the best anti-hero (or really better described as Villain as protagonist) angle possible.

You see Light both for what he accomplishes and for his insane hubris and despicable man he really is all together in the end. It's even more effective that it really wasn't Near being more of a genius than L, but rather Light simply making mistakes.

That's really the key element to remember. As charismatic as Light can be, and as cleverly arranged everything is- Light is still the bad guy. Anyone who feels that Light should have succeeded and not have his breakdown once Near catches him are wrong.

eleventh post best post

epbp

>Light is a bad guy
Wrong.

>this website not currently 99% porn
>this board not currently 99% western movies and tv
>this thread not currently 99% filled with newfags
oldfag detected

Great visuals and music but the ruse cruise one-upsmanship became stale quick.

The Light that beat L would never be so reckless with Near. Light basically screamed a confession prior to ensuring victory in the last episode. Also arc 1 Light would have a multiple back up plans.

>the invasion isn't real

how's it like being 17?

>I hate how Japan has to spend the first 10 minutes of a 20 minute episode on exposition of what happened the last episode.
this is the worst type of crime those japs have committed, and they still do this shit. Why don;t they just air the previous weeks episode right before the new one?

I haven't seen this shit in like 10 years but I remember the last half was the biggest pile of shit I've ever seen right next to Gantz' final arc.

No thanks. I've watched. Ending is shit.

That's the point. Light was filled with Hubris and was going to fail eventually.

faggot

Even in the beginning Light could be an arrogant hothead. If he hadn't killed the Lind L Taylor out of spite he could've had valuable time to attempt hide his whereabouts

Well thats the hubris theme at play; He's not the same Light from episode 1 or even the Light from halfway through the series.

That's the point. His pride got the best of him.
>Also arc 1 Light would have a multiple back up plans.
This is a pretty stupid fucking statement, man. It's been years since then. He's not as sharp as he used to be.

TAE-CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN

But foreal, how was the last half DN shit? Did you want Light to win?

nah he clearly had it all under control

>image.jpg

I read the manga a decade ago, I don't need to watch the anime, or see the new American/Canadian abortion version.

I wanted Light to kill everyone, victory, then have Misa kill light, Misa dies naturally 5 mins later from halving life span twice

Swimming lessons was better anyway.

WHILE YOU'RE AT IT

Why not pick up some McDonald's? For me it's the McChicken, nothing beats that signature USDA approved chicken patty, under mayo, cold lettuce and two toasted buns with a medium fry and ice cold Coca Cola

huh? how does it end in this format?

OP are you australian?

...

I remember wondering why did they bother killing L off when they were going to introduce another character exactly like him except he's autistic and loves Lego's. Fucking stupid

It went to trash when L died. Author was retarded

Same way as the anime. Ryuuk writes light's name in his note. The only difference is Light doesn't leave the warehouse before dying

>McDonald's
>Not Wendy's
what did he mean by this?

You'd be comfortable with a god living on the earth, meting out punishment as he saw fit while being free from charge himself?

Near wasn't like L. Hence why Near needed Mello to nab Light.

>tfw only a few remember Light's swimming lessons when the manga was released

goddayumn i feel old but good ol times

Didn't they cast a nigger to play L, the best character? I'll pass

top kek

Way more pathetic, literally begging for his life.

Wendy's may have good food, but every one I've been too is terrible. Fries were burnt to a crisp, bacon on my sandwich was burnt and it took forever. Never again. I've been a McMissile ever since

I'm actually betting it'll be really good.
Simply because Death Note is such solid material to work from.
Doesn't matter who the faces are, as long as they don't throw out the source material when they call it "Death Note" it'll be a ton of fun.

Gotta watch the dub. It's better.

>show is great for eight eps
>height is Light killing Naomi
>quirky girl inserted to "spice" it up
>goes down a notch from 8/10 to 7.5/10
>a new guy is given death note powers
>Show goes down to 7/10
>Light regains Death Note, kills L.
>Show becomes 10/10.
>continues for some reason
>ends with literally who winning

Assretarded ending.

As an illustrator, is it worth reading Bakuman? I heard it was by the same creative team.

...

...

Just because the thread you posted on Sup Forums got deleted doesn't mean you should start on here

F U C K

I thought you were saying the Netflix series is out already. If I knew where you were I'd beat your ass.

>series

It'll be just one movie bro.

this

I actually almost re-upped my Netflix subscription for it

What's the point in that? They already have 3 shitty Japanese live-action movies based on it, why do Americans think they'd do any better?

If it's any consolation, the character was never intended to be Japanese, either. I used to read the comics as a kid and I remember L being some white ass English / Russian / Italian concoction.

>Watching anime on Netflix

top pleb lmao

...

this actually made me want fast food

fuck you user i'm going to go get some wendy's

The live action movie had a better ending, with L sacrificing himself in order to expose Light. The anime/manga ending is retarded because Light played everything perfect for 99.9% of the show and died only because someone else made a mistake, not even him. It's shit.

Author wanted light to win. Editors at WSJ were bitches and made the asspull which is why the way Near won is fucking retarded (Perfect copy of the death note in 1 night)
