MGS always had awful writing. The characters and dialogue were consistently good but you had scenarios where characters deal with terrorists in a hyper-real setting right after fighting a telepathic ninja-android.

That's just the kind of tone they're going for.

>dialogue were consistently good

You mean hilarious and memey

>MGS always had awful writing. The characters and dialogue were consistently good but you had scenarios where characters deal with terrorists in a hyper-real setting right after fighting a telepathic ninja-android.

It's almost like Kojima is a hackfraud who only gets a pass because he's from Nippon.

I'd argue the opposite. A lot of the characters are weird as shit but used to convey interesting themes and the dialogue can be awkward because it's apparently pretty close to the original Japanese
>Did you say Nerd?

Miyazaki is a hackfraud and souls fans shit on him nonstop.

MGS movie series when?

/tg/ had an exquisite thread about this that amounted to revealing the Metal Gear series resides in a universe where spooky supernatural shit is totally assumed and just natural - The Boss's gun has infinite ammo because it's shaped like an infinity, it just works.

MGS is weebshit and like all weebshit you should neck yourself if you still take it seriously past the age of 15. Keep this trash off of this board.

>awful writing
>this ending

MGS is one of the greatest video game series of all time and is proof that video games can indeed be "art".

Why is this fine but discussion about the media lying isn't??

>It's almost like Kojima is a hackfraud who only gets a pass because he's from Nippon.
no, because he had a competent writer working on the series until MGS3. but off course all people saw was "DIRECTED BY HIDEO KOJIMA" everywhere so none noticed when he left.

Nah mgs1, 2 and 3 are awesome, everything campy was still fun and fit well. Mgs4 just sucked

because this is still media

nip media is so autistic it comes across as harmless to weebs.

MGS4 had it's moments. It's definitely flawed, though.
The return to Shadow Moses had campy Otacon dialogue, as well as stuff like his piss stain from the first game still being there, a kickass boss fight, and getting to pilot REX.
The final fight was also pure kino.

There will never be a final boss fight that well excecuted again. The only thing that could come close is DMC5 Vergil going through all the styles of previous DMC Vergil/bosses

MG1-2 & MGS1-3 are perfect

MGS4 is fine as a close up to tie things, even if as a game it sucks

PW & MGS5 are shiet, they suck as a game and the series would be better without most of the plot it introduces.

as much as I love the MGS saga as a whole, it should had ended in mgs2

>finally got my MGS addict Kojima dick sucking friend to admit that the story has always been retarded and the only reason he considered it a masterpiece was because he was self inserting as big boss
feels good, now if only he could see the same for berserk
>b-but that one codec in mgs2
he was ripping from all the popular counter culture that time in japan. he didnt predict anything. they were years ahead of us in internet development and there were already books written on it before mgs2

Didn't Kojima himself say that video games aren't art?

Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

This. ALL the games were fun as wacky wild movie adventures, but don't try and tell me that the story is some masterpiece as if it holds a candle to any of the great works out there, that's just insulting your own intelligence. Ignore everything awful about them, claim he was only pretending to be retarded, claim that it wasn't meant to be taken seriously, link that one good scene out of all the laughably bad ones.

Unironically with Metal Gear Solid. Turning a quirky 2D stealth-action game into full-blown cinematic pseudo-Die-Hard madness made it pretty clear the series was always going to be a batshit westaboo fever dream. And it delivered. By God did it deliver.
